  3. Hey Carabaybee... I feel ya. I've definitely been there before...I am going outside for a bit soon. But let me tell ya, I'd still rather have a job and RENT MONEY... Being laid off sux... Hugh: I just sent you an email... -Den ------------------ "Concentrate, it's in your reach..."
  4. Hey shout out to Cazz for your support...can't wait to meet ya! Are you going to the drink meetup this Friday, btw? Anwyas, news: I found out my friends Ming+FS are spinning that night too, openning up for St. Germain! How incredible is that! They are AWESOME drum n bass djs and producers. Again, y'all should come check this out. PVD will NOT be fun...it will be waaaayy too packed. Come to Roseland. I'm not making any promises, but we may have a chance to hang out backstage and meet the artists too! PM me... ------------------ "Concentrate, it's in your reach..."
  5. Hey Carabaybee! I feel for ya. It used to KILL me when days like these came around. I'm going for a run in about 15 min... Truth be told though, from my point of view, it's still better to have a job and RENT MONEY (which I don't have) than to be free during the day... Shugabooga...check your hotmail! -D ------------------ "Concentrate, it's in your reach..."
  6. It was just announced...Glenn B is the winner of the DJ Spin Off! Good stuff...he had a tough spot being the first one on, and he was kickin' it high nrg from the start. Got a group of us onto the dance floor by 10:15. Had a chance to meet him later...couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. Congrats Glenn! We'll see you next Saturday when you open for Digweed and Tenaglia! ------------------ "Concentrate, it's in your reach..."
  7. If you read carefully, I was actually happy about the NEW people last night. If someone was chillin' at Twilo when I was in diapers, then nothin' but respect. I don't have an "attitude". I just enjoy Twilo for its good vibe, like last night. I think we can all agree that we don't like seeing a beligerent drinking crowd in there, people who would rather start a fight than say "sorry" when you bump them by accident on the dance floor. People like that, who only come down to Twilo cuz of its name or to try and pick up women, that's "fair weather" to me. If you ever want to meet us, take the first step...you meet one of us, we'll introduce you to the rest. You don't even have to come to the meetups (though they are cool too)...there are soooooo many of us and we are all over the place. Once you meet us, you'll never have to worry about going Twilo alone, cuz chances are, there will ALWAYS be some of us there. If you know jewel44317 already, she'll hook ya up. Peace. ------------------ "Concentrate, it's in your reach..."
  8. Hey y'all! Hope to see you there Casey. If anyone needs reduced list, PM me. Cheers! ------------------ "Concentrate, it's in your reach..."
  9. I guess I agree, but also, I think all of us here are smart enough not to take it too seriously. As far as the Man Show, and the X show, they are kinda funny but grating after a while. Maxim, on the other hand, I think is ok. Not spectacular, nothing I would subscribe to. But actually, I've talked to alot of women who read it too and think it's funny. I guess they want to see what our testosterone does... As far as the clothes thing... Every fashion oriented magazine does that...GQ, Details, etc. They always have 5k watches and 5k suits on like starving artists, etc. And of course, always in women's magazines (Elle, Cosmo, etc.) I think the point is to get the style and trend that is going on, seeing what's influencing the designers when they show their runway collection. Alot of that stuff eventually gets toned down and trickles into their consumer stuff. Prada sorta brought back the late 60's and early 70's mod type stuff. Now, we're starting to see alot of the bold colors from the 80's for this spring. Whoops that's a bit lenghty. Point being, they don't expect you to buy that $350 v-neck. Just get the gist and buy the $35 one made of similar material, cut, feel. Peace. ------------------ "Concentrate, it's in your reach..."
  10. Here's what TM said on the Twilo board...could not agree more... "tonight everyone was a winner, cause' we are all a community, we all believe in this beat, this music, this sound..... " Adam: Nice meeting...I'm Dennis, Emily's friend... If Danny showed up at 1:10, he missed your set? You played from 12-1 right? ------------------ "Concentrate, it's in your reach..."
  11. Churches! Churches! Very small rocks... ------------------ "Concentrate, it's in your reach..."
  12. Wow! That was truly a great night. The vibe was great, even though there were alot of fair-weather fans coming to check out what Twilo was about. But hey, we were all new once, right? The good thing about these fair-weathers, is that they matched and continued the friendy chill vibe. No after work drunkards... Here is my review: First up, Glenn B. Glenn did a good job of playing some bangin' tunes. It was only 10:20 when a group of us hit the dance floor, encouraging the crowd to start hoppin. His set was pretty well mixed, technically, but his song selection wasn't exactly my speed. It was a bit Tiesto/Oakenfold athemy. But that is the stuff a majority of people like. Overall a solid performance. Ty T was next. I liked his style and song selection alot better...darker and moodier. But I think he had a bit of the Twilo jitters, mismatching a few tracks and a couple bad transitions. I know it's tough up there, but a fact's a fact. I wouldn't go so far as train-wrecking, which some people claimed. I put him slightly ahead of Glenn B. 3rd was Adam Freemer. Boy oh boy, I wish he had more than an hour. His type of music was right up my alley. Great dark deep house. Reminded me alot of Danny Tenaglia (btw, the guy attracting alot of attention was Danny, he was chillin') Adam I think is Danny's friend. Anyways, I give TONS of credit to Adam for staying true to his style. He held off from throwing anthems out there until the last few tracks. I don't think most people will like him that much, but I thought he was the best of the five. After Adam came Carl Jr. He started off with a cool track with I think Kevin Spacey's lines from American Beauty. Pretty good set in the beginning...picked up the darkish vibe of Freemer. He played some good anthems, but there never seemed to be any direction to his set. Every time I looked up, I was sorta saying "What's this?" and had to adjust a bit. Perhaps it was the 1hr contstraint. I think he did as well as Glenn B. Finally, it was TM. I think it was TM that started with a cool rendition of Amazing Grace...nice to hear on the Phazon. He mixed that in with The Fall by Way Out West (Digweed mix) which is a GREAT track. Points for that one. His set was really really good until he slowed down in the last 20 minutes or so. That may have been because the night was ending. But he did VERY well. To sum up, in my book, it would be: 1) Adam Freemer 2) TM 3) Ty T 4) Glenn B. 5) Carl Jr. It's also hard to compare these guys cuz each had a style of music, so in general, so TYPE of music will count as much as skill as DJ. Though there were some mess-ups, playing up there for 1 hour is understandably hard so we shouldn't be too critical on that front. All in all a GREAT fucking night. Good to see all the peeps too! Cheers! ------------------ "Concentrate, it's in your reach..."

  24. Definitely a night for the recordbooks... The whole fire drill incident PROVES why Twilo has the best crowd in NYC. Answer me, at what other club with over 2,000 people would there have been such a peaceful, respectful vibe? 'Nuff said. As for the music, I knew I liked Sean Cusick. I didn't know Jimmy Van M, however. Several people leading up to Friday told me that Jimmny Van M was going to play Trance classics. I thought, Ok, why not? But I felt as his set was definitely right up my alley...dark and progressive. Very impressed. Those who say he should get his own night, I concur. Digweed, well, for the portion I heard (I had to leave early) I DEFINITELY liked. I felt it was a very nice mix of his new progressive stuff. I actually LIKE his sets from Feb, and what I've heard of his new album. It's a shame I couldn't stay till the end. From Myrlin and everyone's review, sounds like it was definitely a SET to remember, as well as the night. Too bad I had a lunch appointment downstate in NJ. Also, my brother Andrew sends his regards and thanx to all the friendly peeps he met! "Y'all stay cool" he says. ------------------
  25. Hellz yeah... I've heard MC TC Izlam before...he's OFF DA HOOK!!! See y'all there! ------------------
