  1. I haven't been there, but I know that while it was Chaos, it was a pretty upscale crowd. And I think on Sundays, it was a very hip hop crowd. I never thought it was worth going there. However, I know that recently, Luis Diaz has spun some Saturday nights there. Luis is a VERY good dj. Check out www.balancepromote.com. Balance handles all the top dj's from around the world including Sasha and Digweed, Sander Kleinenberg, Lee Burridge, Anthony Pappa, Jimmy Van M, etc. Make your way to the artists section...Luis' schedule is listed there and there are several dates for Mint. So, I would say if you are shallow and into the fake dress up chi chi scene, go there, you will probably have a good time. BUT...if you are into the music, you might be in luck on Sat night as well (if Luis is spinning there). Wow, I am very surprised that Mint is coming through in this way...I def gotta give credit. Who knows, I may dress up and go one day (if Luis is spinning).
  2. Joe...comin' outta the woodwork... Will you be w/the whole crew?
  3. good to see you "biggin' it up" over there. How was the club itself? Where else did you go? The End? The Cross? Renaissance?
  4. 1) There is no set closing time. Danny will Start around 10ish, and will finish when the crowd is ready to leave. 2) Door is $50. That includes a personal bottle of Chandon champagne for those over 21. If you are under 21, then you will receive 2 complimentary drinks of choice. Two entrances will open @ 9:45.

The first release to be delivered from Regress is ³Sufi / Doobie² written and produced by Mavi. Mavi aka Yunus has also released another project on the highly acclaimed Fire Recordings earlier this year. The A Side ³Sufi² Melds deep darkness with a euphoric progressive edge. Subtle, deep and sophisticated drum patterns are well complimented by the frightening and dissolving middle eastern effects. Sufi can also be found on the current Renaissance compilation by Nick Warren and Danny Howells. The flipside, ³Doobie², offers a more peak time effect for the dance floor. The driving bassline leads perfectly into a melodic piano breakdown of long lost yesterday. John Digweed featured "Doobie" on his Kiss FM show. MAVI, "SUFI/DOOBIE" HITS STORES NEXT WEEK.
  14. I don't really go to EXIT, don't like it nor hate it. Been there 2 or 3 times maybe. HOWEVER, I have been on this board a while, and this is definitely not the first time something like this has happened. There has been several large debates about racism at EXIT. Back in the day, they were profiling out many Asians. I have seen this happen. So, I guess to answer you question, yes, there are lots of people who have experienced this before. Good luck...
  15. Victor Dinaire's set? I really wanted to see Victor spin. Oh, and how was the fewd? Wish I coulda been there... -Den
  16. I heard that on the News Hour with Jim Lehrer, a 1 hour public television news program. You all should check it out...they always have 2 sides to the story and have experts debate with a moderator. It allows you to get in depth with the history of these events quickly and find the real deal with what's going on. Nrgy 112: You remind me of medevil peasents and their public stonings of "witches" (more or less innocent women). Or the tar and featherings of the 17th century. I would hope that our society has evolved beyond that, but evidently, you have not. Currently the government is holding hunders of people of Middle Eastern persuasion without reason. It is hard for me to believe that they are ALL guilty of something. Holding innocent people for no reason indefinitely is bad enough. Putting innocent people to jail or death for the events of Sept 11 would be nothing short of a travesty and a mockery of our judicial system, be it military or civilian. I, for one, want to find the REAL culprits, not just some scapegoats that look Middle Eastern. That is why the trial must be public and the defendants should get the best council...because public opinion is already going to be against them. Those who are guilty will be punished...no need to risk the lives of the innocent.
  17. You guys are definitely on point so far... In addition, chew on this. Whenever a foreign government has wanted to try an American in a military tribunal, the US has gone out of its way to bully the other country. If other people can't try criminals that happen to be American in military tribunals, why should we?
  18. As Petrol said, there is much going on behind the scenes, alot of work to make special events like this happen. So don't assume that the promoters are "sitting on the beach drinking vodka and tonics" because I assure you we're not. Petrol is right again when he reveals that most of us have day jobs. We do this for the love of the music. In addition, no matter what was charged for tickets, no one made any money. That is because ALL THE PROCEEDS (all the money left after paying Cipriani, light guys, sound guys, staff, security, and Sasha & Digweed) are going to the Twin Towers Fund set up by the mayor. ck516: Why don't you come to one of our next parties at Vinyl, and see what the crowd and the vibe is about. If the promoters were in it just for the money, would they really bring such top DJ's to a club with no liquor license?
  19. Thanx Vision. I am not fjy, by the way. fjy is the the man, I'm just spreadin' the good word. Thanks for coming out to support the parties. As you know, with the Giuliani crackdown on nightlife, throwing regular club events has become a bit more difficult. Keep comin' to Vinyl...December's gonna be a CRAZY month... Dec 8: Satoshi Tomiie and Anthony Pappa Dec 15: Deep Dish Dec 22: Surprise Guest Dec 31: New Year's with Danny Howells Werd!
  20. I mean, what other promoters in the world do you know that care about their customers as much? Who else would solicit comments and input? Made Events just wants to make the next party better...and wants to listen to the music lovers that make everything possible.
  21. The event at Cipriani 42nd Street last Wednesday, Nov 21st was to be a celebration of the return to NYC of Sasha and John Digweed with Jimmy Van M. To most people it was just that. The venue was spectacular and we received much acclaim on the music, visuals and laser. Both Sasha and John felt it was the best date of the tour by far and many people in attendance said it was the best event they had attended this year. The situation outside the venue from roughly 11:00 PM until 2:00 am however was not at all what we intended. The security screening at the door was handled improperly by personnel that were obviously ill prepared and inexperienced at handling ticket holders in a timely and professional manner. We would like to extend our sincere apologies to all whose spirits were dampened by the security personnel and the long wait caused by them. As an event producer, there are sometimes unforeseen problems when going into a new venue for the first time. While no security team could have eliminated the wait entirely (remember the lines at Twilo) the long wait some ticket holders had to endure was completely unwarranted. We all understand that in light of the events of recent times we must make adjustments and security measures need to be tightened. Unfortunately the security firm which we had to hire in order to satisfy the venue's concerns did not make adjustments in a very practical manner. This organization will always strive to put on events of the highest caliber. Events that are precedent setting. Obviously, hindsight is twenty/twenty and needless to say, the unfortunate aspects of Nov 21st will not be repeated. Furthermore we are always open to comments or suggestions from our customers and will always listen to any concern or complaint so as to constantly improve upon what we offer to you. Please feel free to send us your thoughts, questions or suggestions to: events@maderecords.com. Thank you very much.
  22. The price at 4am is not going to be more than $60. I will get you an exact price as soon as I can. Stay tuned...
