  1. Thanks for the info. It's exactly what I wanted to know. People make it sound like it's the worst club in the city. Your right there is nothing to lose by going there again. Do you go there on Sats too? If you do go, what type of crowd is it anyways?
  2. The night I was referring to was a night say near the end of January or early Feb of this year. It was supposed to be a new night there and they brought in all the NYC dj's including: Boris, Jason Ojeda, Richie Santana, and Shawn Ink. I was just wondering if it was any good and if you or someone knew how it went down? I haven't been to Centro Fly in ages but I did like it the way it was. It's a nice club that hopefully won't close down. I may have to check it out soon because you never know it could be the last time they open!!
  3. If I had gone to the WMC, JP would have been one of the last dj's I would have checked out. The whole purpose of going to the WMC is to broaden your horizons in a musical sense and to party it up of course. I rather hear world reknown djs with diverse styles that I've never heard before than listen to JP again. I know that most people have not seen every dj so the WMC is the perfect opportunity to see a dj that peaks your interest. As for JP being a nice person we all know that's not happening any time soon. I've met him b4 in a non Miami setting and he's still a prick. He seems like a pretty moody individual and the drugs he takes really doesn't help him improve on that moodiness of his. He seems like he's all about himself but I don't know if he had any input in lowering the cover charge for NYE at Exit? I thought it was kind of generous because most decent places that night were way over priced!! Other than that I think of JP as a service: If you like his music you go and pay to see him again and if not then you don't go see him anymore. Are personal feelings invested in a service? Not really!! JP should be a humble individual but he isn't. He has a Barry Bonds type persona to him. Do people try to find out what Bonds likes and thinks? I doubt it. Just take him for what he's worth and enjoy his music and look past JP the individual. You will be a lot happier that way and will avoid hard feelings towards him.
  4. Thanks for the info. I hope to check it out soon.
  5. Damn Centro Fly is going to close? Why? How did that night go with all the NYC dj's spinning the entire night? Was it good or did blow?
  6. So I should Never return to Webster's Hall? Well then I may just have to check it out. Webster Hall= and Avalon= . I have to give to Avalon a lot of props because they do bring in the best dj's around!! So what's the cost to get in and what's the dress code like? Are lines really that long to wait in?
  7. Sound interesting...May have to check it out sometime. I've been here b4 but had no clue they had an afterhours. Is it really packed or somewhat packed?
  8. So your pretty much saying that the best club around right now is Avalon and that all the nights at Webster Hall blow? So all the nights at Webster Hall are a joke and are not worth spending a dime on?
  9. Is it always $50 per/head to get into Crobar? Or is it just for a special night?
  10. Is Black and Exit the same thing? The reason I ask is because I want to check out Black that's why.
  11. Who or where did you hear this from? Was it a reliable source?
  12. My question here is if Black is Exit?
  13. I have no problem with Tiesto being #1 because I really like his style. It does surprise me that Tenaglia is moved out of the top 10 but again most know that he should be in the top 10 so I won't worry to much about it. I never seen Carl Cox but I have heard he is great too!! There is one dj I did not see on the list whom I liked and that is DJ Fuse. He should of been on either list. Most of the NY djs are No where to be found? ... :what:It's not a surprise to most I think. Most of the NYC djs sound too much alike.
  14. Just wondering if there are any threads in regards to Black? I'm just really intrested to check it out soon!!
  15. Been to Webster's Hall once thought it was ok but I heard it used to be better back in the day. Right? It didn't smell that bad but I can see why some people think it's a nasty club. My question here is out of all the nights at WH which one is the best currently?
  16. Never had a problem with Paris at all. I know people who have though. That Old School SF door drama story is too funny. I could just see it happening!!
  17. I agree. It sticks out more now than ever. Bad BO is the worst.
  18. It's been a long time since I have been on these boards but once I heard about this incident I had to post my opinion. I have not been to SF since the Halloween party. I guess that was JP's last big event there? I know that they have tried to bring in Junior and I wonder how that experiment went? Probably not too good based on what people posted here. It seems that SF has been in a downward spiral since JP left or maybe even before that? I wasn't too shocked to hear that this went down but I am kind of upset. SF will now have to GO. Didn't Richard Grant and his staff learn their lesson the 1st time they got raided? I mean that was a huge warning. I mean he made 6 million dollars in admittance fees annually isn't that enough? I guess not. So Grant had to then capitalize on selling drugs to double his profit. I can't really feel that sorry for him. These are pretty serious charges that have been brought against him that he may not get out of this time. The people who may suffer from this maybe all the diehard clubbers on this board who loved SF? I'm not saying that I'm a saint here but there were times when I went to SF "stonecold" sober and many of my friends would think I was NUTS. I would rather be a little tired than extrememly cracked out. Many here may disagree. It's just me. Anyways SF to me brought a lot of wonderful memories and once SF doors close forever all that people will have left are the memories. If you bought the SF cd's they came with a dvd of those nights. Those dvd's may bring you back to the moment but if you had never gone to an SF party you wouldn't know the reason why many here are upset. You had to have experienced it firsthand. I had never gone to the Tunnel or Limelight but I heard they were both both crazy clubs back in the day. I guess the staffs in both places were sketchy too? I did go to Twilo once but experienced SF to the fullest. I'm happy that I went there in it's prime, when it was underground and not mainstream. When it was in it's glory days. Once it becomes official and SF becomes another extinct landmark the only thing that will matter now will be the memories. I will be a little upset but life goes on and I'm sure someone will try to bring back another afterhours like SF. It will be hard to replace and original though. I think things happen for a reason. Maybe it was SF's time go or maybe not? Who knows? What I do know is that I never knew SF would be gone this soon. I've heard a lot about Black, is this Exit and when does it open? The reason I ask is because I was thinking of heading down to the city and wanted to check out a new afterhours now that the closing of the SF seems more and more like a reality.
  19. During NYE at Exit someone told me that Palladium/Arena whichever one it's called was pretty good. I was about to check it out I'm glad I know that it's closed now. Why did Arena close? I also had heard mixed reviews about Pearl. Some people said it was good others said it was terrible. Why did that place close down?
  20. This was only my 2nd time going to Exit and figures this time around it's NYE!! Anyways here's my review: First off I get to exit at 11pm and notice two huge lines: One for people with tix the other for people w/o tix. I had a ticket already. The line for people with tix was longer than the line for people w/o and was moving pretty slow because I had to wait at least 40-45 minutes before I got in!! Where are the privileges for buying your tix ahead time for Christ Sakes? While I was waiting I saw many girls leave because of the long wait plus it was pretty chilly outside. Since I had lost my wallet earlier in the day I was glad that they did not put emphasis on checking Ids once I got to the front of the line. They did check my bag though before I went in. Once I got in I realized it was like 5 mins before midnight so I tried to get from the roof to the main dance floor. It took some time but I was able to do it. This was a sign of things to come. Anyways once it turned midnight the place went bonkers. As the night progressed I started to feel more and more like a canned sardine!! There was just nowhere to go as I tried walking around the place!! The roof seemed like it was on the other side of the world from the main dance floor!! Just soo many people. The roof was the only place where you could go to cool off. Some guy fell inbetween the masses of people and looked like he had a seizure and was out cold for like 5 mins but then his friend got him up. Walking up and down the stairs was a mission in itself too because each step seemed more slippery than the next one. It seemed like there was ice on each step. The bathrooms were repulsive to use as well. With all these heads though what did I expect on NYE? I just didn't think that many people would show up at Exit because there were many other clubs throwing parties throughout the city too. JP started his set off slow but then kicked it into fifth gear as the night progressed. His set was putting me to sleep at one point early in the night but as it turned into morning the music got better. He started playing sick tracks and the crowd loved it but I have heard him spin better during his early years at SF (Back in 98). The crowd was soo diverse. It seemed like there was every type of person from every ethnic background you could think of present, which was pretty unique. From every type of class too and in age as well. I have no problem with Asian people it just seemed that some Asian guys there were really overly protective of their Asian women. Especially in a group. It's like if I was trying to talk to one of them they would come up and elbow me from behind for no reason. You could of just told me "there with me" or something like that. No physical contact was needed guys. They were lucky it was NYE. I don't appreciate being clocked for no reason!! Since it was NYE I did not see anyone brawl but if it was not NYE and there was a regular party of this size at Exit I think there may have been some brawls because the crowd was just too diverse. Overall I'd have to say the good outweighed the bad for me but for some it was an awful experience. I'm sorry to hear that!! I just made the best of my NYE regardless if most of my crew were elsewhere!! I could not fnd some of my peeps there. Most people were mad friendly I noticed which was a good thing. I hope JP finds a residency soon you know he will. As for the staff at Exit I feel they need some lessons in patron etiquette because they were running around yelling at people as if it was boot camp of some sort!! No one is going to come back to Exit if they keep acting the way they do!! Were party troopers and that's about it. So just chill and do your jobs in a normal fashion? Also what did people think of those trapeze shows? Where they necessary or not?
