Lola - I stand corrected IMO, Twilo is the BEST club in NYC... As for liking what you like, I have agreed to this sor a while now. Music preference is just that, a preference and yes we are all free to judge what we do and don't like i gave exit another chance this past saturday and had a great time. maybe it was because i was there with my friends and i hooked up so much maybe one day you may want to give twilo another shot... Maybe on PVD night on Feb. 9th. Although it will be crowded as hell and will get some rude peeps (unlike usual). Period! For the MANY reasons many of us stated. a lot of people go to exit because it IS a nice place, with pumpin' music (not very well mixed though) and in all honestt, can be fun as hell, especially if your looking to hook up. i hear ya. but if i'm gonna go clubbing once a week (at most twice a week on rare occasions), i'd rather go on a friday, where there is good music, good vibes, etc. also part of the equation (at least for MOST guys) is having women around... hopefully good looking. when i go to twilo, i'm not there to hook up... but sometimes it happens... it's in the back of most guy's minds... for me, at the very least, i like to look at interesting things when i'm there... the lights, the dj, crowd, etc... i would much rather look at women, than men (it's only human nature of straight guys like myself). i have nothing against gay peeps, they never bother me at twilo, but staying until 6am and having chelsea boys as the main crowd is not appealing to me... i was thinking about going sat. night to twilo, but in my own mind if i did go, i set a deadline to leave at 5 am... i wound up going to exit instead... yes the music is important, the MOST important past of a club to me, but so is the crowd... and for me, part of a good crowd is having a good mix of men and women... and if part of the crowd (mixed that is) happens to be gay, i have no problem with it... too much male overload and not enough female eye candy for my tastes. just my opinion though. i'm sure it was a lot of fun ------------------ ************************* I've got more girls on my tip than a human shish-ka-bob! *************************

wow, looks like i missed some of the great ones like PVD july and S&D 3 year anniversary. my personal fav. nights are: 1) PVD November - the place was packed like a sardine can, but i didn't care... PVD tore it up and i was with so many friends. 2) Sven Vath - This past weekend... I dunno, he was just at another level ripping hard techno into a wonderful journey, build songs galore, geart vibe... it didn't hurt that my friends and I were getting down w/ 2 hot girl friends of ours 3) Escape (LA), this past July - My first E experience... nothing else like the first time ------------------ ************************* I've got more girls on my tip than a human shish-ka-bob! *************************

definitely the cold steam (as many of you have already mentioned). at the climax of build songs you hear this deafening high pitched screech... you see a preview of puffs of light smoke come out... then... SSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *high pitch screech* bass pumps in, floor is completely cold... completely foggy... the crowd is in frenzy!!! all jumping up and down with arms raised to the air... floor pounding up and down in unison that's what i'm talkin' about ------------------ ************************* I've got more girls on my tip than a human shish-ka-bob! *************************

mysterious - you are absolutely correct in your actions and reactions to this guy. it seems like you gave him plenty of warnings and chances to lay off and he didn't. you even went as far as to have a talk with him regarding your concerns... that to me shows you that you had the patience to withstand his idiocity and chose to take the high road. i have a lot of female friends that i go clubbing with and i respect them ALL! i'm very good friends will most of them (some are just hang out friends or friends i met for the first time) and each are different in there reactions to the degree of "closeness" they can tolerate from "guy friends." like sometimes when some of my other guy friends come or guys that are friends of friends, come, they see me dancing (er, grinding) some of my female friends and they try to step in too. what they have to realize is that these girls are no hoes... they only dance closely with me because i have known them for such a long time and they know that i would never disrespect them. NEVER. some female friends, even if they are close to me, don't like dancing closely with guy friends... you have to be able to read or know the girl... some girls are just out to have fun and whatever they let you do is fine... but i empathize with what you are saying. the guy needs to understand his borders. some of my female friends just "went along" and danced with the guy b/c they thought they thought the guys were either my good friends and didn't want to offend me at the time... later they would pull me aside and say, "can you please tell so and so not to do that anymore..." women need to be respected, friends or not. especially if they're friends of friends. once again (yes i'm rambling and i apologize for this) you did the right thing. the guy was way out of line. just my $0.02. ------------------ ************************* I've got more girls on my tip than a human shish-ka-bob! *************************

dude rio de jinero is the best!!! just be careful at night time... as you go into towards the city, away from the beach it gets VERY dangerous. don't wear any jewelry , even watches... you will be a target. the clubs are a lot of fun, but most of the women in the clubs are, ahem... working girls. just go to the clubs and have fun fool around there, but don't take them home!!! if you wanna hook up, just go to the beach. unlike sao paolo, the women there are very aggressive. be the man. bring your english-portugese dictionary. you can get local hotspot names from the hotel you are staying at... i stayed at hotel del sol, near copacabanna. it was awesome!!! the reason i know all this is that i used to go to brazil 3-4X a year on business. just be careful!!! attached is a nice pic from sugarloaf mountain for your viewing pleasure ------------------ ************************* I've got more girls on my tip than a human shish-ka-bob! *************************

orchid, if you wanna know the difference between exit and twilo, please read my post from yesterday. in short, exit is a nicer venue, but twilo has better dj's, music and vibe. i'm not sure about junior, but twilo definitely has top line dj's spinning each week like paul van dyk, s&d, sven vath, etc. s&d are VERY trancy until after 5am. some people may harp on me for saying this but one of my friends described s&d (b4 5am) as "being inside an aquarium listening to bubbles break." BUT after about 5:30 or so, OMG they start cranking it up and they are unbelievable!!! you need to stay way past 6AM to really get the full feel of s&d. btw - if your friend is really into the scene, the answer is definitely twilo i hope this helps. have fun whereever you go ------------------ ************************* I've got more girls on my tip than a human shish-ka-bob! *************************

Wow, I can't believe I went to 3 clubs in 2 nights this weekend, but I did... and had a great time! Here's my review of the the clubs I went to. Please note that this is only my opinion and not meant to cause drama Centro Fly (Friday 11:30PM-2AM) - i had been there once before... A nice quaint place, decent crowd, but I couldn't wait to get the heck out of there. Maybe it was my eagerness to go to Twilo or lame music. Maybe I didn't give the DJ a fair shot, becaus ewe left so early... Twilo (Friday 2:30AM-6:30AM) - OMG, the place was kickin!!! Sven Vath was incredible!!! AS soon as my friends got inside, we went straight to the dance floor for hours on end. He had some awesome hard techno playing and did a fantastic job working the crowd with build songs climaxed with cold (ear deafening) mist). I never knew Sven was so awesome! Way to go Sven! After PVD, he has definitely become my favorite at Twilo... For those who have not seen him... GO!!! Although he is mostly hard techno, he knows how to mix and work the crowd like other great trance DJ's. Exit (Saturday 3AM-7:30AM) - Exit, as usual is an exquisite looking club!!! the crowd is dressed nicely and the music pumping hard! The shows that night were awesome!!! With people in fancy costumes and peeps swinging from the rooftops Spheric, i finally noticed the mist! You have to admit though, compared to Twilo, it's like comparing a Yugo (Exit's mist) to a Ferrari (Twilo's mist). Although the music was good I can't say the mixing was too good (I don't know who the DJ was and I'm not trying to diss him but...). He didn't know when to work the mist/snow with build songs. In fact, not many build songs at all... so in effect, he didn't know how to work the crowd. Sorry, but true. I admit, I had a great time at Exit though. On a side note (which many of you may have already known), Go to Twilo for the best vibe, DJ's and music in NYC... Go to Exit for a fantastic show, good music, beautiful venue, and to hook up. Overall, i had a great time at both places, but Twilo gets the nod in my book. that's a pretty poor generalization to make. personally, my friends and i dress very well and NEVER had a problem getting into EXIT or any other club for that matter. this goes way back to the days of limelight, club usa, nell's, etc. when clubs were much more selective in who they let into clubs... i agree that the dress code at twilo is, well there is none... people where sweat pants to gq style there. please don't confuse, music and venue preference with being able to get in,,, it's just that most people at twilo are there to dance and wear comfortable clothing... you also have to admit, some of the outfits of the people at exit are right out of saturday night fever... ------------------ ************************* I've got more girls on my tip than a human shish-ka-bob! *************************
