sorry to be blunt but WRONG. he always plays the terrace around 8-9am at the WMC after playing inside earlier in the nite.

i don't believe Warehouse is open right now...but i agree...crappy venue compared to the others in Miami

i remember a couple of years back at the WMC they had PVD and Carl Cox play the last nite at Space on a tuesday i think it was....definitely not nearly as packed as the other shows earlier in the week. i personally don't know anyone off of the top of my head that will still be in town...

i've seen him play on decks and it was crazy/awesome. i'd be curious to see how well final scratch works on that kind of high-speed cutting and scratching....but he seems happy with it.

won't happen. when spundae has free admission until midnite to try and get clubbers out there and its a cluster-f*ck at the Avalon door - that tells you all you need to know. let's hope Crobar does it better when they open - though i've been through some fiascos there as well during the WMC

btw, i forgot to mention that the fire marshall didn't like all the crowding at the door - hence they closed it around 1130/12.... which actually worsened the situation as then all that happened is more people showed up and crowded around the door! when they try and double book 2 events on a Sat nite, it invariable ends up being a mess at the door.... i wouldn't bother using a Clubplanet guest list for a big nite like last Sat - i could have gotten on the comp list but went ahead and bought a presale just so i could avoid any potential (and realized) door drama.

Avalon did let it known that doors were not opening until 1030 due to a prior concert....in reality it wasn't till 11 that the doors opened. we got in line at 1130 or so, waited till 12 but as we bared moved, we decided to go grab a drink and return. headed over to the Frolic Room got back to Avalon at 1245 and got in within 5 minutes. Deep Dish didn't start until around 145am anyway so no biggie on getting in later. that was about as packed as i've ever seen it - and everyone was dancing their ass off so even if the OP didn't like the crowd, at least they were there for the right reason. their set was okay IMO - not the best i've heard...but def one of the most fun nights i've had there. we left at 530 AM and Deep Dish was still pounding it out and the place was still 100% full then!

yep - when its just 1 of the DD guys, it will say... Deep Dish featuring Sharam, etc. they are both playing this Sat nite....

i think 95% of the time the cabbies just gave us the passes for free....i've never paid for them but have been there when some friends did but that was a long time ago.

depending on the club and the night, you can gets line passes/free entry tickets from taxi drivers. just ask them when you are taking a taxi somewhere...

Scotty Boy is a monday and friday resident at Jet...though i don't know if his sets will be dance only or incorporate that dance/rap/rock mixture a lot of mainstream clubs play nowadays

hmmmm....well the 2 times i've been there since the renovation, there was only a DJ in the main room, not one in the newly opened area. it seems like there would be way too much bleed through soundwise to even bother trying that.

i don't believe that they plan on having DJs in both areas at one time. also, i've heard they may reorient the layout so the DJ booth is along the east wall so both rooms are utilized more properly as one room.

going to be in town for CES and some other shows may have to check that out!

actually the 30th but its all good - i see they have Josh Wink on Jan 2nd...already bringing in some good talent...

the Palms actually has a suite or two just for bachelor parties...no idea the cost but some details are on their website...

WMC is 24th-28th...grrr....

i've checkd into buying a unit at most of the announced properties....main thing that sucks is you have to put down 20% - 30% upfront basically...and then wait up to 3 years for your building to open (Las Ramblas). i'd rather invest elsewhere...it will be very interesting to see once all these condo hotel units open what kind of appreciation will be. Though prices do seem to be up around 10% already at the MGM which will finish it first units in the spring of 2006.
