  1. This might be a bad time to pose this question but just on my mind... What do you think are the chances that someone (whether tied to OBL or not) might try to bomb a club in the US (particularly NYC)? And chances of (god forbid) succeeding? I remember when Libya was the #1 enemy, that it had happened a few times, even (if I remember correctly) once somewhere in Europe
  2. I guess just a little friendly reminder that I've heard on the news... if you see something suspicious, tell a neighbor or better yet, tell the police or FBI... scary but true... the enemies could very well be among us (not among board people I hope, but in the general public)
  3. Come to Union Square any time. There's always something going on there. Also a big memorial event in Central Park is planned for next Sunday Has anything similar been done out in Queens?
  4. I hope that what I've heard on the news is not true... like people putting in false information into web sites supposedly to be used to list survivors? like people taking (looting) donated supplies and/or stealing American flags like telemarketers doing phony donation request calling schemes like people calling in false bomb threats like people taking stuff from the scene, stuff that might be EVIDENCE It's bad that people do this anyways, but especially in a time like this, when we all really, seriously, majorly need to cooperate and work together!
  5. oh... see if this helps http://search.news.yahoo.com/search/news?p=northern+alliance&n=20&c=news
  6. In what context? Are you talking about NATO: North Atlantic Treaty Organization ? Their official web site is: http://www.nato.int You might find more info on other sites
  7. Watching/listening to the special about it right now As you can guess, the focus is on OBL and his associates Check out pics of the main people the FBI think are involved, on http://www.amw.com Do any of you remember seeing such people? Apparently some of hijackers have lived in NJ (and maybe in NY)... very freaky
  8. It has been denied I think you can find something about it on http://www.eonline.com
  9. I was also there hanging with barvybe, mugz, lavendermance, and met with Flightpath and Pulsedriver (both from NB), as well as a couple others whose names I didn't catch (I might not remember face-name combinations, but I remember names pretty well )... yup it was a little too crowded for my tastes, adding to how tired I was, making me leave at 2 am How long did Hawtin go until? I also heard him in London this past summer... I'm hoping someday I can hear him do a whole extended set At the end of Christian Smith's set (which was the second-to-last set/DJ before Hawtin), the music stopped, and then one of the firemen came up to saw a few words. The crowd responded with huge applause I passed by Union Square on the way back home and there were still a lot of people there. Candles were everywhere, even on construction barriers. Some of the displays created were quite impressive and beautiful
  10. At the Guernica benefit last night (Friday), I heard from someone about someone who had seen people falling to their deaths (i.e. hitting the ground) while trying to get away from the WTC, and understandingly has still been traumatized
  11. quite disturbing a bit unrelated... i wonder if the WTC normally has/had any kind of evacuation plan
  12. actually it's probably better to stay out of that area and let the rescue crews do their thing if they need more hands, you'll hear about it Find a place near you to donate blood
  13. I guess we've had this false sense of security about the world being peaceful and safe
  14. I was wondering about shopping... if the phone lines aren't working, then you probably can't use your credit card - is that right (i.e. correct) or wrong?
  15. Interesting... just heard that (two?) aircraft carriers are moving into the NYC area If you've never seen an active one (and the Intrepid doesn't count), here's your chance
  16. I've been hearing on NY1 about how many blood donation centers in NYC have been filled to capacity (and perhaps beyond) I've never donated blood before, but I probably will if there's still a need after things get less busy.
  17. I hope I don't offend anyone... I'm just curious... Are any of you still planning to (go out and) do anything, other than follow the news, discuss on this board (and perhaps other boards), and check up on people ? Damn, what a beautiful day it has been weather-wise... and what wonderful plans I had ... ruined by the shit that happened
  18. Well, that's not surprising I think what will be more interesting is exactly how he (we) is going to fight back
  19. Sorry to hear about your losses I wanna give you deepest condolences
  20. It is so weird being out on the street and not seeing the Twin Towers there in the distance Gosh, whenever I was downtown (and below the number streets) and lost my sense of direction, I just looked for them, and could then figure things out.
  21. Here's what I'm thinking: If there's going to be more shit happening in NYC, it will probably be somewhere midtown, most likely in or near Times Square I'm lucky and glad to be living and working in an area that's in between the city's two "hotspots" (*keeping fingers crossed*)
  22. In case you were wondering, it has just been announced that the NYC primaries have been postponed until further notice...
  23. Well, don't we wish it were that simple? Every time something happens, for some reason, many different groups claim responsibility Maybe they don't have the balls to actually do it, but they try to take advantage of the situation Maybe it's cover for something else Finding the people who really did it is much more difficult
