  1. hey sancib... Rehab is a daytime pool party from what I understand, and it goes from 11 am to 7 pm. Space is now hosting and added Gervais. But their presale clearly states its only good starting at 4 pm. 50 bucks for four hours vs. 30 bucks for all day. Can someone clarify if they jack up door prices? Tiesto, other named DJ events at rehab? Erick Morillo is at Tao for Subliminal Sessions on Sunday night. Going head to head against Tiesto at Jet. Dave Aude & others will be at the "didn't get into rehab" party at the palms. Swedish Egil spinning at Empire sunday early am... Lot of events.
  2. I would think Tiesto brings in a huge crowd, so thats' why there's a huge line at 7:45 am. But for Sharam/Gervais? Well, Space is selling tickets for this event, but its a ridiculous 50.00 for 4 hrs (4pm - 8pm only). I guess I'm coming early and greasing a bouncer or something.
  3. Will it be impossible to get in and how much is cover at the door for this event? 40?
  4. I'm goin... Not sure what's planned for Sat night, but probably some mainstream club... I'm not sure if Darey's spinning after hours or not... Then Sharam on Sunday Then probably Tiesto either sunday or monday.
  5. Funny how diff people have diff music interests. I'm flyin into vegas specifically for this event! lol. But I'd like to know, is it impossible to get into rehab? On a sunday morning for Sharam? I can't imagine it being uber-packed... I've never been but read reviews that I should be a supermodel or a super hero to get in.
  6. I gave it a chance, and a second, and a third... I don't know why I keep doing that. It should only take one or two to be put on my ban list. Same goes for places like Strata & China Club... should've been one and done. I do like the system in the main room, but the crowd is just horrendous.
  7. This is the only decent thing going on Friday night. Table/Bottle reservations/specials?
  8. The best one was tonight. Local on 33rd and 8th ave... the place was rocking at 10 pm... I went to a movie, came back at 3 am and went up there... terrace (space) like feel... Ivano Bellini spinning... unannounced. it was amazing.
  9. The best DJ in town that friday (ok PVD is during the day) and he's at the worst possible venue...
  10. With Crobar being shut down 18+ places are going to be tough... Especially for the summer when the clubbin scene dies down. but from what i know of this city, just do what everyone does.... fake id's, sneak in, or bars that don't have doormen (most bars). If you go early enough, a lot of places don't have em. I was shocked when my cousin who just graduated high school walked into a bar in NYC and ordered a beer... no problem whatsoever. That stuff never happens where i'm from. They'll card 35 year olds...
  11. The only problem last time, was the fools that brought glowsticks and especially the ones that require a LOT of space... But good tracks, I will be out of town, but will try to make it. I guess i'll end up paying the 30 at the door.
  12. What a memorable night. I think ATB has solidified a spot in which any time he's here, I must go. So much energy, and the crowd was definitely not a NY crowd, much more of a foreign influence. (soccer type chants throughout)... Good stuff. Can't wait until the next time, probably not for the rest of this year.
  13. Who are you? The music god? How dare you criticize what other people like. I would think the strongest part of EDM is that you don't need to revert to music bashing other genres, but I guess its not true. Thanks for bringing that hip hop element to EDM.
  14. I'm not sure what's worse. Having Danny T, Behrouz, Boris, and Peters spin every other week or all the people that excited because they are...
  15. TBD on Thursday (Above & Beyond vs. Danny T) Wetgrooves on Friday Gabriel & Dresden @ Pawnshop on Friday TBD on Saturday (Tiesto vs. F*** me I'm Famous) Yoshitoshi @ Space on Saturday TBD on Sunday (most likely Desyn Masiello)
  16. best parties and boris don't belong in the same sentence. Especially at the music conference where the world's best Dj's come together. Boris is a local dj, known only in new york and miami. that's it.
  17. Tila Nguyen is hot. I wish you'd have her host friday!!! lol. Don't have set plans yet for thurs, maybe wetgrooves double dose?
  18. thanks for all the answers wetgroovin... just a couple questions on if Above & Beyond, Filo & Peri, and Utah Saints will be during the beach party or after dark? Not sure how late I'll be at Nikki, but would love to catch their sets.
  19. My first time hearin exacta who started pretty strong and faded pretty quickly. He even f'd up on a transition which was odd. But there were a couple great tracks one of which was Fanciulli's Lucky Heather. But the rest of his set didn't go anywhere, and was just a lot of annoying vocal house. Maybe that's the in thing but I wasn't feelin it. Guetta was definitely commercial but the energy changed dramatically when he went on. I thought he was more in a medley type mode there, b/c most tracks didn't last long and it was one commercial track after another but they were solid. Pretty impressed with his style though, even though I couldn't stay long for his set. Might consider his party at WMC.
  20. I'll be there. Is cover $25? Little steep.
  21. Depends on your preference or style of partying. But after the first time, I learned a few things. Do NOT miss the beach/pool parties... its a good way to keep the buzz going, and even if you just wanna chill. I think its good to have some kind of plan for the week, instead of last minute... And Ultra is worth checkin out only once, in case you haven't been to those daytime type of events. Chances are you'll take a week or two to recover or might just get sick, like I have for the past three years. As for stayin up, I use only alcohol and can hardly make it past 9 am at Space, so maybe red bull or something else might do the trick.
  22. Every year, this is an issue and well I've had mixed experiences. For the record, Space & Ultra do not allow digital cameras at their venues. Off the record, I snuck my dig cam in to Ultra two years ago and didn't have any problems. And at Space i've been pretty successful but once a bouncer did grab my camera and threaten to step on it, so I stopped using it. I think they definitely don't like video photography, but pictures of yourselves should be ok. Just be cautious is my best advice.
  23. Venue: Tryst Night You Atttended: Dec 30 Normal Hours or Afterhours: Normal Hours Rating: -50 The worst club experience I have ever had in my entire life. From the staff, the club, and its ambience. Drinks: 7. They make drinks, is that sufficient? Crowd: 7. A little on the snobby side, somewhat like the Newport Beach crowd, a false sense of entitlement. Staff: 0. Wouldn't know how to run a club if it hit them on the head. Definitely amateur night. Music: 8. If you've been to one major club in vegas, you've hit them all. The music in vegas caters to its diverse population of those who attend. They keep it as mainstream and as diverse as possible. Other Notes: Tryst has a design flaw where the restrooms are in one end of a far corner, which makes it backed up to traffic jams. I saw patrons urinating in the trees nearby because the distance & crowd is too great. It makes for a rather unenjoyable experience. There are much better clubs in Vegas to go to, which will be more enjoyable for all. PS I know its 07... but need to get the word out.
  24. Why were we there early? Tryst has a fantastic policy of taking reservations for tables but no clue on how to hold them. Tryst made it clear that all reservations are on a first come first serve basis. The tables were booked a week in advance. I used to hate using a "race" card until I started seeing it quite obvious too. I'd like to ask, just to compare ignorance with knowledge if you guys know the most racist city in the greater Los Angeles area. If you can answer correctly, at least i know you don't have your head up your ass. The most common incident is usually seating a party of color in the corner or back of the room. Our original table was the furthest from the dance floor in case anyone was wondering. Greenie made an excellent post in a vegas thread how the reason it takes awhile is because the host would like to walk the party through the club and really impress its guests. Well, this couldn't have been further from the truth. Greenie, I suggest you send that post to Tryst, b/c they don't have a clue.
