Yah, I've noticed that. I've been extremely disappointed in this new turn of events. I guess I shouldn't complain too much, the mainstream clubs in LA close at 2 pm (mostly b/c of driving). But there are certainly a bunch of clubs that go all night. I guess the drug use is expected, but they are closing the hip hop clubs on 27th as well. I left "Home" once at around 3 b/c it closed. So, its a chelsea thing and definitely ruins NY's great nightlife reputation. I hope Pacha goes late tonight.

These are good points, but i think is one of the reasons why I dumped the other genres (well not really) because of the "snobbish" attitude towards music. EDM probably has the MOST subsets or subgenres or individual genres of any other category. I think most here can tell the basic differences, and I'm sure the experts really know. Personally, I make my own classifications, lol. And the stuff on KTU, I consider mainstream dance, or NY house/dance music. I too believe in the descriptive forms of house, like Disco House, funky, hard, jazz, etc... But I try not to be a snob, b/c its all about enjoying the music, whatever its style.

The best American Trance DJ's/producers are here, and I'm not missing this one at all. My first visit to Pacha too. I can not wait. Only problem is I'm going solo, but I don't care, its all about the music tonight. All I know is the 15$ reduced list... I'm hitting this place up EARLY!

Interesting. Marquee is on my ban list, never will go there, but its nice to see that my reasons are just with the way they handle their business. I agree, you should've cancelled that card and/or not pay it. Failure to provide a service.

I have a tough time finding a "terrible" set from any electronic DJ, but I have been to ones that are disappointing. Danny T was the most recent to date, Sander K in NY has also been disappointing at times. I guess I'll have to see for myself.

Good to know, one of the few DJ's i have yet to hear live.... I will not miss this one for sure! I think it might be ATB that got me into the EDM genre to begin with...

It seems like Crobar is the only place I ever go.... 2nd (b/c of friends) 8th b/c Porter surprised me in Los Angeles 23rd b/c its been awhile since i've heard Behrouz 29th for Sharam... 30th? Double dose of Roger? Not sure... It's tough to say no when its no cover on some of those nights!

Thanks silverbull. I miswrote. They like crobar for the venue primarily, not necessarily the DJ's. They want to go Sat. My only reasonable alternative is pacha... I think they like the variety of the place... I'll be at Cielo on Thurs for Roger S though!

Let's get to the real question. Why should I even consider Crobar in the near future if the place is going to shutdown, get raided, lights go on, and/or fights or shootings are going to occur? I have friends that are dying to hit up Waxman on Sat, but I'm thinkin about finding an alternative venue/area.

The truth hurts. Boris's tour schedule involves, Crobar Cielo, NJ a couple times and Miami from time to time... if you want to see boris chances are you will wait days not months (like AVB or Tiesto)...

Ok, so I usually don't go out on random nights but since it was my bday weekeend I ended up goin out sunday night. We hit up some club, on the lower east side or east village that was amazing. It looked more like a restaurant. There were two rooms, the first one had a bar and was narrow, the other one, you enter upstairs and then its like a courtyard down to the lower floor (staircase is on the other end of the entrance). They were playing some sick house, and even dropped Lorraine - Transatlantic Flight (Axwell remix), and closed with Max Graham's - Crank. I don't know the name of the place for the life of me, but I'd definitely like to hit that place up again. Any help would be appreciated. A friend said le cirque but i don't think so...

PS I'm a doctor, that Sander not flying shit is pure BS... He might be ill but that has nothing to do with flying, lol. I've noticed Sander flaking on gigs from time to time due to "illness", which I can understand, but spare me the advise of a doc for not flying crap, lol.

What a disaster, for my birthday too... Music wise. Met some hot asian women though, so that's always a good thing!!! They played a few tracks in the main room that I recognized but no sander...i'm disappointed. And its not like any decent talent will be in NY anytime soon... Just will have to wait until mid september or so...

I didn't see him in NY at BED, but saw him about 3 days earlier at Giant Village, and he did a guest mix on a radio a few days later... He's gotten so lazy with his sets that he just has pre-recorded mixes now...hahaha... I don't care for his mixing, never have. I care for his tracks, which still rate pretty damn good. On that note, I'll list a few tracks on oaky's playlist lately... David Guetta - In Love With Myself (Benassi remix) --> i love this track. Oakenfold - Not Over Oakenfold - Faster Kill Pussycat (liam shachim rmx) oakenfold - save the last trance Leya - On All My Sundays (liam shachim rmx) I'm positive he must've dropped those tracks at BED. Max Graham - Crank was also on his playlist from Sat at Giant Village.

I really think these prices/salaries are over-inflated. How much does a club make in a night? I mean, 100k, and 40 of it goes to the talent, and what about security, bartenders, attendants, not to mention utilities and maybe the owner would like to make more than his employees... And not every venue is like Crobar...

Uh, I flew out from NY to LA for this event specifically and fly back tomorrow. man has learned to fly...
