pacha in midtown, although i've never been there... crobar in chelsea, and i'm goin there tonight... (have they fixed the damn sound system in the main room or do i have to invest in ear plugs?)
-
I was just about to post about anyone goin to crobar tonight. I think i'm goin solo... The two ladies were taken to the hosp i work at... and dang they were old! I feel old when I go out, but if there are 34 & 39 year olds patrolling crobar, I think i should be ok! To quote a great t-shirt, "Hip hop sucks." Who's goin tonight?

Im from out of town and want to party in NYC

Well, the best clubs for underage happen to also be the electronic scene. Crobar & Pacha come to mind, along w/ Spirit. Especially for your age... They are 18+ this friday, and also have hip hop rooms. I actually like the bamboo feel of the crobar hip hop room, plenty of areas to sit, and areas to dance. As for Marquis, forget it. You ain't gettin in, to quote their doorman to an attractive girl "you gotta be more than hot to get in here" I've heard that some bouncers will let underage girls go at certain clubs. You didn't hear this from me, but I've heard Quo is one of them. -

if his set at shelborne was laughable, his set at crobar was flat out sloppy. Sounded like Frankie Wilde out there (after he lost his hearing). BUT, in all fairness, his essential mix and new album has a couple decent tracks urr remixes, that I'm looking forward to. For that reason alone, I might actually fork over 30 to go... but only for a couple tracks. Guetta - In Love With Myself (Benassi remix) -- Good track! -

I was just thinking the same thing. I went to crobar last night and I thought it was too loud. I might be gettin a bit old, but seriously its almost to the point of annoying. I've never been to spirit, but crobar for the 2nd time i've been there was way too loud. -
Anyone have the website for Festivus in Central Park??

While i was out in miami, i probably heard him a few times and just didn't know it (just getting into this music, thanks to club space)... In NY the one time I've seen him, he was great. I was expecting that in LA, and it just didn't materialize. There was no energy in his music, and it translated to the crowd, in fact I don't think I even went out onto the dance floor...not one memorable track. Which is odd, but sometimes DJ's are just off. I've seen it from the best of them, van dyk, tiesto, van burren, oaky, sander k, digger, and sasha have all been below average on at least one night that I've seen them.

showed up early so i could take advantage of the open bar and get in for free, but couldn't stay as late as I wanted... a lot harder than I expected, but it was pretty good... Now, I'll wait for Giant Village next month. Should be good.

Your Loving Arms? yuck... Joonas Hahmo - Fusion (that's the track right there, almost me worth changing my plans and coming just for this one track!)... but I guess I'll be at Crobar. -
Good post. I think since they sampled NYC only in the US they aren't getting an accurate comparison. NY would rank close to last or near the bottom in comparison to the rest of the US. Not an opinion, a fact. I've lived and traveled in many places in the US. New York is one extreme of being rude. Polite? Doubt it, when I always have some overweight, rude, or obnoxious person leaning all over me in the freakin subway. Australia... syndney, now that's one friendly city!

Well, to be honest I wasn't all that impressed with the opener either, but he wasn't bad. I think for a trance DJ, the opener should really stick with house early and get to prog house closer to the end.... its a gradual buildup to the main point, trance. I think I can STILL remember one of the best opening sets for PVD at Avalon in Boston at least 2-3 years ago, I walked into the place ready to go, DJ kicked up to prog.... and PVD took it to the next level. Perfect night. It isn't as good when i heard "oh, the music just got better, ferry must be on"... But to each his own. Surprisingly, the night can actually be made by a good opener... I've tried to get the opener's name when they're really good. The last two that came to mind (both for AVB coincidentally), Harry Lemon & Remy...

Yah, he was good, probably just as good as the terrace at Space for the conference. He dropped Strobelight... the crowd? Ah, i was there for the music and alcohol, so I didn't care. Third time ever goin solo to a club, pretty interesting experience.

Isn't Behrouz from SF? just wondering... this is something I'd like to attend... hopefully i can make it. The flyer is unique.

I'll be there. It says I'm on the list plus one. But its just me... If anyone wants to go, PM me. I'd prefer a girl, but it doesn't matter i guess...

Sup guys, just wanted to get an idea of what specific tracks you're lookin forward to... The Conference is about unleashing some of the best tracks for the upcoming year, especially the summer. So what have you heard, or looking forward to? Specifically in the progressive house and trance genre, but all are good too!
