Fruit stand was great! The vibe in the front room and upstairs room and outside -- very good (but a bit stand-off-ish compared to comparable parties or parties with the same music/scene). Fruit stand - great! And the hamburgers and tacos - the BOMB! Soooo good.

We didn't say they did. We know that. Wrong. Never said it wasnt. In fact, 9000 has been on our 7-Day Planner and Hot @ 9 Chart since Thursday (the best night) started weeks ago -- and they started Thursdays partically cuz of our suggestion. Your comment (and its tone) speaks for itself.

Great question man! It depends. For example, the warehouse party last weekend - all ages - so not techincally 18 and over. 21 and over to drink. The Penthouse Pet Hosted Party - 18 and over. Larchmont Sundays (going on right now!) - 18 and over == with a special LALate guestlist! So go there right now! Stop reading, and head over there right now! lol. Maybe next Sunday ... we got it every Sunday. Average Age -- hard to say. Depends on the venue. Really really depends. But one thing you know -- a) if it carries the TEENLate event label only - its not for 21 and over if it carries the joint TEENLate/LALate label - its for of-aged and underaged clubgoers (the minimum age varying).

Well ... know that some people on this board love Spundae .... but we all can have are own opinions..... so here's LALate's review. Saturday @ Spundae (George Acosta) NIGHT YOU ATTENDED: Saturday PROMOTION THAT NIGHT: No Cover: around $20, plus or minus (1-10, 10 being best) Decore: 7 - contemporary It nice. Considerably better than Arena. The room flow is good, the staff cleaning all night is good. But in an era like this where onenight parties in warehouses are pulling more decore per square feet, this place is very nice but leaves you wanting them to spend more $$ spent on decore. Buzz: 5 People's Hot'ness: 2 Never saw so many people who acted like they were hot and they were just not attractive people. You thought you were in Sky Bar or something lol. People's Niceness: 3 If you come with your friends you'll have fun because there is a large contigency of people that were fighting, heckling -- you just didnt feel safe there. Overall Review- The venue is really great. The patio (and the bbq that runs all nice is excpetional) and the staff is sweet as sugar. The light show is amazing. The front room had the best house music act (non headliner) we think we EVER saw. So what did we not like - the people. Unkept (even at 9 pm), unpresentable ... some fighting ... some shouting/reckling like thugs at people from across the room trying to pick fights ... let's just say, many people told us that they felt unsafe, the karma was very bad. The ratios - 9 guys x 1 girls. The place doesnt take credit cards anywhere -- our opinion -- that's just wrong. Would we go back - If we couldn't hear the exceptional music we heard (in the front room) somewhere else , yes we'd return. If we can hear the music somewhere else - no, would not go back. Absolutely not. In the era of exceptional house music warehouse parties, and great house venues like Las Palmas and others, The cover is too much money for a venue that gives you so little (and is lacking security like you can't imagine!).

Actually, my friend told me last night he was at the venue and tried the Clapper clap to get in at the entrance -- ... it didn't open the front door but instead turned off and on the Number 1 Uptown Train.

Here's the secret word to get into that club with that Clapper system this Saturday .... "[clapper] ... self tanning cream ... 5th wheel .... love electronics ... [/clapper]" j/k

Yeah instead of having a doorman, they are using a Clapper system (sort of a retro-garage door opener motiff -- very stylish).

naaaaa listen .... Seen this, done this. Listen, if you get both their numbers on the first night and they both were interested in you and both KNEW that each other gave you their number and both understood you were interested in both of them ... then .... with everything out in the open and everyone understanding each other after the initial meeting ... then... depending on the type of persons they are they will.... this ALWAY happens ... EITHERRRR a) the people will not care you go out with one on one night and another on another night so long as you give attention to the person you are with when you are out with them .. the focus and the attention (and never talking about the other one) is key.... and you'll have fun .... or .... one of the two will become intensely insecure about the other one always wanting you... and eventually it can blow up. Situation ( is best avoided if (1) you pick up on the warning signals that one is insecure , (2) you hang with the one that is most normal, and (3) **** everyone leaves their cellphones at home and doesnt answer them (because when the third person not on the date starts calling everyone's cells -- that's when the problems errupt). Here is how LA nightlife currently stacks up..... #1 Venue = White Lotus in terms of capacity, crowd, buzz, and repeat patronage Current "it" Venues recently opened venues with great buzz factor in no particular order a) Forbidden City 9000 Lounge c) Shelter ... plus two new ones by December coming to you soon (stay tuned with LALate.com for details) All three IT venues are very diff (size, location, features) so they need diff things to happen to maintain staying power Top Venues then you got your top venues that have been open for at least a few months. some open up to several years, and are still doing great business with great crowds More recent: ... Nacional, IVAR, Cinespace etc Still doing well: ... AD, Highlands, Barfly etc etc Final Thoughts It is sort of funny, how some of our business contacts run into us at night and say "LALate - what other venues do you know about that are opening up that are suppose to be hot" -- and sure enough, we tell them, and then, poof, less than 2 weeks later they are promoting THAT place. lol So if you don't know (since LALate's business is to be informed about what is hot and what is not, and since we have no allegance to any venue per se since we aren't a promotion company) a lot of top promoters and event bookers turn to us to seek information about what is really the best of the best around town ... even down to various scenes like the House Music Warehouse scene which is just exploding in LA currently (see our recent threads on the same subject) with cheaper cover, more partying-geared patrons, and better music, all offered in venues decked out as good as any A+ venue in LA.
