Well here's the current eye on i-var lol. Last Thursday (a big night for ivar) there was at most 80 people in the place at 11 pm, some rooms with 3 people total, with 80% guys roughly, and about 20 people in line (98% guys too)... When you get there, give someone a hug or something to get a pass to the vip room upstairs -- it's our FAVORITE -- it's soooo great.

As insight, the reason why LALate LUVs this party is a couple of reasons that are important to know... - marina del rey. If you dont know, this port of call and the santa monica bay is really gorgeous this time of year. We were personally there at the Ritz Carlton Marina Del Rey last weekend and you cant imagine how beautiful the whole marina and bay looked. - weather. If you dont live on the westside, the haze has really been gone from the beaches lately which gives you a clear sky during day and hence at night. At night, its really not chilly but perfect this time of year. - Miusic. This crew, if you dont know, doesnt just bring in your run of the mill djs -- they bring in LA's friggen best djs -- they know their business. So if youve always wanted to go on a yacht party but werent sure which one to do, trust us, this party organizers know what they are doing and have chosen the best for the night - you really will have a ball of fun if you go. TWO Weeks ago, LALate was the first to get you into Forbidden City, the hottest new venue, before anyone else (and we delightfully named "F City" because of our adoration for the exquisite venue that friggen rocks). Well this week was the opening to everyone for F City - and the reports in say the promotions brought in a beautiful, young crowd. F City, if it keeps it up, will be on track to hold its own against the remodelled Palace being unveiled this fall across the street. The question is if F City can overtake White Lotus as the #1 buzz venue for the moment. Stay tuned

Update for this week's Industry Nights @ Cinespace .... Dennis Quaid will be playing live with his band @ Cinespace on Thursday.

Standard is good but pricey. You're basically in the heart of the very crowded western section of the sunset strip with very popular bars and bar/restarauants around you, lots and lots of food traffic in a bar/lounge/restaurant like scene ... if you have a car, exit the standard and go down to FOUNTAIN BLVD (one block south and parallel to sunset blvd) to head out to party because generally sunset any night is just bumper to bumper and you'll get stuck in traffic and get frustrated. If you want to party at places like Deep or Forbidden City or Ivar or Cinespace or White Lotus then maybe consider staying at the Renaissance at the Hollwyood and Highland complex (home also to the Highlands nightclub) -- it's a skyscraper hotel as opposed to the uscale midsize oh-so-posh Standard (different types of hotels). Deep, Ivar, etc. are all on the eastern section of Hollywood right next to each other (you gotta move the car from the Reinassance) -- see the LALate thread review on Forbidden City below -- it explains this eastern section of Hollywood for you.
