9000 Lounge may just well be the venue that LA has been looking for. Last night, LALate saw a venue that has come to the plate in the game of nightlifestyle and for now delivered a home run. 9000 Lounge, as its name suggests, is a small lounge nestled on the western tip of the Sunset Strip between the rock and roll crowds of the Rainbow and the Roxy. 9000, much like Forbidden City on the opposite side of Hollywood, is one of the "it" new venues of the moment that will prove in the next few weeks if it can maintain that status. After valet parking your car in the skyscraper that houses the venue, LALate entered the former italian restaurant turned Hollywood hotspot to see on its patio a galour of stunning people. As you enter the 12 foot tall curtains that engulf the venue you see that 9000, a quaint venue, is only as good as its crowd, and last night, this crowd was a good as it gets. Let's just say - this was collectively the most beautiful crowd LALate can remember under one roof in recent memories, not pretentious crowd but certainly stunning. 9000 Lounge Thursdays is LALate's new Hot @ 9 Venue for Thursdays, a guestlist VIP only venue that no one should miss next Thursday.

Review of Wednesday 8/13 @ White Lotus (had a lot of fun)

Club # 20 (1-10, 10 being best) Wednesdays @ White Lotus NIGHT YOU ATTENDED:Wed PROMOTION THAT NIGHT: Yes Cover: free (1-10, 10 being best) Inside Decore: 10 Music: 7 Relax Feel: 10 Parking: $ Well, when LALate walks around as sees the biggest, heavyhitter names in the nightlife industry all under the same roof in one night = mostly there not to work but to party = then you know it's good. Never saw so much jaw dropping skin showing bodies - you can't believe these bodies - under one roof. Music could be better, not enough people dancing earlier in the evening. And thumbs up to opening the patio all night unlike other nights. Overall and INCREDIBLE evening - and ladies - try the Watermelon Martini on the patio - really good. Definitely the best Wednesday out there and the best night at White Lotus - cooler crowd, nicer door, and those bodies wow.

Yep lol. You're right about NYE @ WL. lol. (Like LALate was into F City before anyone else.) (Although wouldn't change the world for the LALate's private downtown warehouse NYE party that was totally overcapacity with cheap drinks, great people, fire throwers, laser show, etc etc, for a mere $20 -- honestly, best NYE "cool" party ever... face painting ... it just ... well wonderful - our review of it got it cover all over the web - that's how good the party was - cant wait till this NYE again) congrats on the good name. And yeah, Tuesdays @ WL expected to be coming to LALate here too lol in addition to our Wed @ WL and Thurs @ WL (although Wed WL is the best night). But honestly -- come on other venues out there Get your acts in gear. No one wants to see closures by Fall 2003 -- that will be awful. (We sort of sense who might be the first expected casualty - but realllyyy hope it doesnt happen). It really is interesting. We wondered tonight, when DID we start this thread on White Lotus. When we searched the archives here we learned (and were surprised) it was all the way back in May, coming up on almost three months. It really feels like it was yesterday when LALate first starting getting people in White Lotus. What's more interesting, for the good or worse, is the following. White Lotus --- which as of this week we now have not only Wednesdays (the best night currently, the total package is great on Wednesdays) but also Thursdays --- is shockingly even more popular now than back in May, even more popular now than after Access Hollywood named it the #1 venue. Which causes you to pause and wonder -- why, what's working so well for White Lotus? We know it's a beautiful venue with great patrons, but what is working so well for WL? First, we send people to White Lotus every week, repeat clubgoers at the same venue, guys and girls, keep on going back to White Lotus every single week, week after week. That tells us something - people like it. Repeat customers mean something is right. Second, we have clubgoers sending their friends to us and saying, they want to go too. Word of mouth is a wonderful indication about something is working great. So needless to say, it's been a great three months of happiness for clubgoers in White Lotus. Whatever it is, we aim to please.

Walked around the whole venue 3 times at 11pm -- at 11 pm, approx #s.... Patio --- Outside sofa, 4 people, 1 standing Bar - 3 people Standing - 20-30 people Inside 1st room - 5 people, maybe 4 vip room first level - 0 people outside vip room (including bar area) - 10-15 people Upstairs - closed Line - 20-25 people IVAR is a fabulous venue and people you need to go there -- don't let this venue get empty like this anymore. It's an incredible venue.

oo thanks for the insight. Personally never experienced the door operations of IVAR back around the time you are talking about (although have heard similar remarks). It really is a wonderful venue - the layout, the rooms, etc -- so hopefully business keeps up.
