  1. House music touches the soul while "edm" is just beats and good times, thats the difference, IMO. I know when im at a party with a proper house crowd and house dj layingit down theres no comparison in vibe or feeling. Tiesto for example with his hands in the air and clapping aint got nothing on JOE CLAUSSELL in my book.

I'm a big Joe Claussell fan but I was surprised to see people standing in front of that booth and looking at the dj as opposed to just enjoying themselves ... I hate that stare-at-the-dj crap, be it from househeads or tiesto-kids.

For me EDM is just music made from Computers or advanced electronic machines, and it can definitively have SOUL. Like what comes out of Basic Channel for example.

I think the problem with Househeads is that they tend to be Snobs. I don't know how House can't be EDM. It's an Electronic form of Music oriented towards Dance!

  2. i am sorry to hear that you had a horrible experience, but calling these bouncers with "little education" is just horribly ignorant.
Well, reality check: usually when you have a higher education you're not a bouncer at a club you know. Sure some of them are cool and so on, but it's not like most of them can talk to you about Wittgenstein or String Theory.

And people are correct when saying that the best way to deal with them is to ignore them and just have as little contact as possible. The problem is when the bouncers cross the line (like apparently they did at Pacha this weekend).

  3. The bouncers have been jerk offs forever, where have you been???

Well, first I don't accept crap from a fucking idiot because he works at a club. Shady boucers can go f themselves as far as I'm concerned. Today, yesterday, and tomorrow. Do you just accept assholes on a daily basis or what? It's not like any club nowadays provide such an amazing experience that I would accept to be stepped on or disrespected.

And, no, bouncers haven't been assholes everywhere, that's just simply not true. I can remember ok bouncers in some places.

This reminds me of the shadyness at Twilo when they were hiding drugged-out patrons in hiden rooms; or when Exit was so hardcore with the drug searches that half of the afterhours crowd decided to fuck this shit and not show up.

Also, I hope you know that times have changed and it's not the 70s/80s/90s and clubland isn't as free as it used to be. Clubland looks more like a polished corporate world nowadays..

Given the hard competition with Crobar, Pacha should do all it can to make sure the patrons have a good experience and shouldn't take any chances with its reputation and the word of mouth of its patrons.

  4. oh. either way its annoying to read

Almost as annoying as totally unrelated messages on a thread.

And about those bouncers: Pacha needs to drop the attitude because those type of bad stories spread and it makes no sense for Pacha management to loose credibility because of its own staff being unnecessarily mean and idiotic. Who's the boss of Pacha? The bouncers? If I was the boss I would not tolerate such behavior from my employees.

  5. Cops Shouldnbt Let People Into Clubs At 4m, The Bar Is Closed And People Will Use Drugs To Be Able To Party All Night Long, So They Should Be Able To Deny Crackheads

I agree with the stricter door policy. No morons should enter after 4am. I'm even for a reverse door policy: 4am all the clueless tourists have to leave the club so the party can finally start!

  6. true thats a good point, whats ironic is I think house music today is the best it has ever been.. and im not talking about shitty tribal at Boris parties or crappy by the book deephouse songs at Stimulus>Response parties..

I don't like to rain on anyone, but the fun is usually the strongest (I sound like Yoda) where new sounds or scenes are happening. Big clubs featuring Tribal or smaller places featuring Classic Deep House aren't new at all and it's hard for them to live up to the past (it was newer back then and definitely wilder thanks to the city being less expensive and controling). I like both type of parties, and have a great time when I go there, but I don't think this is where the real "time of my life"-time will be spent (I kinda already had it really good so I'm cool with anything really :)).

  7. I know what's wrong: people trying to relive the past. Lots of new kids are having the time of their life today, the same way we did earlier.

The only thing is you won't find them at Crobar or any big club, and they probably don't listen to House Music anymore ... Life goes on.
