  1. Ok forget it im sorry im trying to become a better person.im soo edgey sometimes and they used to rag on junior big time in here before you had joined but nothing in awhile i just felt it was uness. to say what you did.I Honestly hope everyone on here even the Fuckers i cant stand and prop are mad chill in person have an Aweome Amazing Fabulous New Year 2006 baby ...it's gonna be niceeeeeeee.2005 sucked big hairy balls!!!again queeney i am sorry for being nasty i actually might end up at crobar after junior depending on how i feel and what time he ends or if it sucks ass lol

Agreed, let's finish the new year in a nice way, and give that '05 bitch the goodbye she deserves!

    Peace.

  2. hey backupqueen why don't you just back the fuck up.1st off Kristine is Family and is welcomed with open arms.2nd the last time Kristine Played @ a Junior event it was 4 years ago at Junior's gay Pride Pier Dance.3rd miss hunny when you first got on this board you would give someone as much shit as i would when they talked smack about Junior or his parties, but lately you seem to be just trying to pick a fight with me??take that negative bullshit someplace else!!last year Junior had Tamyra Grey from american idol sing "raindrops will fall".and on a last note miss think she knows it all the reason why you saw alot of Vernessa Last year was because she had a new cd out and some really good inspirational gospel songs that Junior did mixes for as well as other djs doing there own mixes that became club hits.ive seen soo many other preformers do there thing at Many of Juniors events.and speaking of originality the 2 preformers that u speak of wouldnt be where they are today if it wasnt for Mr Vasquez...he helped jump kick their careers, was there with them from the beginning,i dunno to me that sounds very original.

Wow, err, yeah I certainly am the one who needs to "back the fuck up" because you're not the one over-reacting to a 2 lines post expressing my un-excitment about the performer at Jr party ... does everyone has to love and praise everything jr according to you? I hope not.

And about "lately you seem to be just trying to pick a fight with me", I don't even know you! or -no offense- care that much about you or your love for all things jr to want to 'pick a fight' on a freaking internet board.

Really there's no need to be that offensive because one person somehow expresses a slight doubt about a jr party, it sounds like paranoia.

Sure, I won't be part of it, but hey! To each is own, have a good time and I'll do the same somewhere else (private party then Crobar laaaater) .

As for the "Best DJ for NYE" I think the combo Cox/Calderone is amazing but I don't even want to start to deal with the crowd at Pacha so I'll stick to a late arrival at Crobar for VC.

  3. manichaeism, there is a new word...
    not really ....

    Man·i·chae·ism Pronunciation Key (mn-kzm) also Man·i·chae·an·ism (-k-nzm)

    n.

    1. The syncretic, dualistic religious philosophy taught by the Persian prophet Manes, combining elements of Zoroastrian, Christian, and Gnostic thought and opposed by the imperial Roman government, Neo-Platonist philosophers, and orthodox Christians.

    2. A dualistic philosophy dividing the world between good and evil principles or regarding matter as intrinsically evil and mind as intrinsically good.

  4. a Dj should not keep a track secret. Its plain selfishness. When a DJ doesn't give out the name of a track, it shows they are insecure about their skills or insecure about some aspect of their Djing in general.

its even worse if a DJ doesn't let another DJ know the track ID, because its the DJs job to help promote for the music and the genre in general, and the only people who can really do this, are other DJs.

So basically what it comes down to, if a DJ doesn't give out the ID of a track, they are selling out on the genre and the person who made that track.....

I understand what you are saying but I think your reasoning is oversimplifying a lot of things and you're streching out the argument to the point of manichaeism, in my humble opinion of course.
  5. no! a DJ's secret weapon should be their OWN remixes, not someone elses...

It doesn't work like this. If you're a dj and don't know what the competitor dj's playing then you didn't do your homework and too bad for you!

How about you're the anti-producer for not spending enough time listening to all the possible track and (therefore undirectly) willingly let an amazing producing talent unknown?

No offense but you have to stop whining.

Also if a track's a bomb it's only a matter of time before it gets the credit it deserves --it's just too bad for the djs who slept on it in the beginning.

  6. look at how many people went to MADE IN SWEDEN party.. sebastion and steve arent known for being djs but being producers and they had an excellent turnout
    Absolutely.

Almost all big djs are also producers/remixers. I don't even know if you can separate or oppose DJ and producer/remixer anymore. Can someone name a DJ who's not a famous prod/remixer?

And you're also correct on why djs don't want to share some of the info on their tracks: that's their edge in a difficult business!

  7. frankie knuckles got a street named after him in chicago a few months ago. As for a stamp maybe one day.

And considering the great input he had in house, and positive exposure it brought to the usa (I mean almost the whole world's dancing the this sound or derived version of it), it is well deserved.

I don't think a stamp with Levan or any u.s. music pioneer is an absolutely ridiculous idea ; I'd bet the Detroit trio would get it first though.

  8. Well, the folks o.d.-ing are doing it to themselves! It's their choice and has consequences on their livelyhood only. I don't think the same can be said about stabbing or shooting.

Plus in general, I'd rather be around people high on E with a friendly-loving mood than aggresive people carrying knifes!

The house scene was fine until freaking' ghb came around and then crystal sealed the deal of bad drugs to do in clubs (the first being way to hard to dose and the second making you a complete dickhead after enough time).

  9. Out with the old in with the new. Dance Music should be fun, light, and all about surprise! Freshness is a plus!

When I'm in the club I want to be sent to the future, the unknown; not relive the great parties of the past when today's classics were the new amazing music.

There's nothing sadder than folks on a dancefloor reacting to the same tracks for the last 15 years (aka classics).

  10. I don't think people actually stay 24h (not most of the people anyway).

When jr was doing marathon, nobody was bitching about it. Hell, most folks used to show up from 9am to evening. You could actually have a night of sleep and instead of window shopping all day just hang out and dance at the club. Pretty healthy: if you want it to be (and that's the key).

  11. You little hypocrit prick. Always talking down to people doing drugs and partying and now you want to post up this shit about a gay black club that opened when you were a sperm in your fathers sack and idiloze it's junkie Dj and drug infested atmosphere. Your so incredibly sickening there are no words to describe it.

So fuckin true. Hate the negative comments about how 'it's about the music not the drugs' when the whole garage scene was totally infested with drugs to begin with ... from Larry to the gay crowd on the dancefloor.

  12. The only reason I would understand this person's move for refusing to play Pacha would be if he's ask to play something he thinks stinks but has to because of the crowd. Then yeah that guy's right.

Now if Morillo asked him to play his club, Erick knew what music to expect from that guy so probably wasn't going to stay behind him in the booth passing him the last Madonna to put under the needle.

    So I don't get it.

Or this dude doesn't want to deal with the crowd because they're not the musically inclined crowd he/she wants to cater to?

    Who's that guy anyway?

  13. Hey backupqueen i take offense to some of these comments, lol. What i think is wrong is not letting djs like louie vega take over a main room like pacha, crobar, from time to time.

Don't get me wrong, there absolutely nothing wrong with folks like Louie Vega at larger places. Louie played amazing last Wednesday and I hope he can get back at Pacha because he played really great.

And by the way, if that moron earlier looked at the line-up of "Pacha", they have some great nights and always something 'underground' such as Mateo&Matos for example.

I just got pissed on that guy who trashed anything and anyone going to "superclubs" as amateurs and suckers. That pissed me off seriously. As a great 'sucker' that I am I can tell you that i'll be at Spirit for Danny T december date there. I hate Spirit but Danny on that Sound System is too tempting! <tongue-in-cheek>I'm such an amateur </tongue-in-cheek>

  14.   this is too funny..amateur clubbers...i wouldnt waste my time going to pacha..especially not on "opening night" (which was actually wednesday)..

pacha is just another example of what this city doesnt need..a super club which thinks too highly of itself...out of the big clubs crobar has their shit together and theyre gona keep running shit in NYC for a long time....spirit..avalon..pacha..buuuuahah...shittay...

if u knew anything..u guys wouldnt waste ur time @ superclubs but would hit up smaller venues...but then again sunday afternoon u guys would get blank stares from ur friends if u told them u went to a smaller venue..and you're role as "club connosseiur" of the group would b diminished no?

    suckers

    <rant>

what a funny guy. so you're so cool because you go to 'small' venue. Can you tell us the size limit for a club to become uncool please? How about you start using your brain and realize that it's not about the size of the place and cool really doesn't matter. Plus I don't want to break the news but the 'cool' of nyc is not linked to house clubs anymore anyway (big or small)

What you're blaming others for :"go around as a club connosseiur" (sic), you just did. You're the exact mirror image of the people you're making fun of.

Having said that, I'm sure Pacha can have good nights (hell, wednesday with Louie at the helm was fun and it was great hearing him play that well) if they have the correct dj.

Let me guess, I suppose I should be going to SOL, 718 Sessions, Love, and Cielo (but not on weekend) to be cool in your book? I should also hit Shelter on a regular basis too; and always rave about the good old days at the "Bang the Party!" in brooklyn to "keep it real" ... zzzzz

    So fucking predictable.

Oh, and by the way, if you were there wednesday and had a look in the booth of "Pacha" you would have seen a who's who of New York underground House scene along with Louie --I guess they sold out too then.

I'm so sick of elitist bullshit like this.

    </rant>

  15. NYC CLUBS

    Lesson 1

    Never go on opening night!

Please, opening night wednesday was fun. And opening night-bis would have been great if they didn't mess up that bad. Club opening and closing nights are always fun.

If you're scared to be waiting on line for too long or not get in that's another story.

  16. Crobar, Avalon, Pacha, and Spirit are not original concepts; they all originated elsewhere and exist elsewhere. If NYC wants to be the dance mecca it once was, they need to do something more interesting than using a concept that's already out there. They need to push the envelope a little bit and become more creative.
You might be right but I'm afraid the money needed to be able to start such a club is now so big that it's over and done with.

On the other hand, NYC creativity could be left to promoters/djs and those big clubs could let them lead the way.
