  1. um too broad of a question i dont think this can be answered.

I don't know. When I hear "technical DJ" I don't think Frankie Knuckles or Francois K for example. Don't get me wrong, they're genius and 2 of my all-time favorite DJs (which is so much more than technical skills!!!); but I've never really heard them play 3 records at the same time, including 1 backward, and throw in some acappella samples on top of it.

Also: Digweed's a pioneer? Eh? Hasn't he been around only since the mid-90s(?)

  2. First, it just is plain dangerous not to have a normal seating area when you're a club like Crobar, open for afterhours and where possibly people are going to take substances needing them to take some serious rest at some point.

Second it's kinda rude to treat your patrons like this. Resting is such a basic need I don't get they ask people to pay for that.

Third, hate "tables" at a club because it's too fuckin' expensive and given the choice I'd rather spend that money on nice clothes! And it creates a hierarchy based on money: the worse one.

  3. FYI: those places: AER, Lotus, Marquis (or Marquee I never know and don't give a shit), ... you get the picture, those club-lounges are not -never were- where the musical talent is anyway.

And usually, most of the folks in there think they're some kind of cool kids when really the cool kids left the Meat Packing District like 5 years ago; those idiots are just playing a bad sex and the city episode in their head, years too late.

Summary: what the hell are you doing there in the first place and why are you surprised the dj there's a talentless dickhead?

  4. be urself on the floor.,. thats how you impress the true headzzzz.,.

Be Yourself is the key; impressing the "true headz", who cares?

As for Crobar's expectations, I guess they don't want you to look like you're going to work at the office, or just came back from the gym. Anything else should be fine.

    Live and let Live.

  5. I can't wait for Spirit to close and someone with a real vision to take over that space and do something meaningful there. As I said before, it's one of the best space in the city, every previous owner was able to create legendary clubs there (Sound Factory and Twilo) ... the current owner has (1) no idea what to do (2) change concepts every 3 months ... WTF is wrong with that guy.

The funniest thing of it all is Crobar accross the street is packed every weekend.

  6. QQ for the locals, what kind of night is this??? GAY/ Straight??? How has this event gone in the past??? Would anyone recommend any other "Cool House" clubs in NYC??? What time do most people show up for this event? Thanks for the input!

gay straight mixed, goes late in the afternoon so different people show up at different times. I'd say 4am-2pm is where the meat of the party is.

  7. This is an amazing party, the muzik truely works my pussy.

I spend most of the time in that far off bathroom (the one with the gloryhole) but I still get to hear those amazing beats.

And I've gotten fucked in the dance floor during his hot sets. Hehe, Victor gave new meaning to work this pussy!

    Great party great people.

I wish JR would go and take some notes!
