brickhouse
Just because someone mentioned him, I thought I'd just chime in that Eddie Baez is Mr. Overrated himself. Quite literally, he mixes all of his tracks at home and brings about 20 CDs to the club. Then he mixes together CDs. He actually live mixes once every 20 to 30 minutes, and when he does, he still wrecks things up about 1/3 of the time. Not only that, but he does not bring a SINGLE record to his gigs, and even when he's spinning for about 4-5 hours, he still brings no more than 20-30 CDs. Not exactly my idea of a great DJ. Great DJ. cox doesnt mix three records at once, that would be impossible silly, he is know for working three turn tables at once big difference , although cox is awesome he and a few others such as oakie are notorious for trainwrecks.. (And yes i HAVE heard four SIMULTANEOUS records playing. It sounds good if you do it RIGHT.)Cox might have a few thick beats occasionally but the man is working HARD.Keep on learning kiddo, because you still have a lot you need to know. rudeboyyouth
It's very easy to mention Tony Draper in the same sentence as talented dj's like Junior Vasquez. All one needs to do is read all of the information on this board that is constantly being written about dj's; by doing this, one comes to a self-realization which sounds something like: "I know all the different names of the dj's who spin within New York City, and eventhough I have no real knowledge of house music or the mixing styles of these dj's, I can still sound like I do if I know the names of these individuals."Different tastes are one thing, but mentioning the names of music creators / remixers / dj's with the names of half-assed record / cd playing, trainwrecking, tastelesss music playing cunts is another thing. Individuals like this need to stick to buying worthless club-music compilations and bootleg cd's that sell for 5 bucks a piece.Fucking faggots like these often have much to say about the new house tracks that are floating around on bootleg compilations. Mention a classic to them, however, and they can't say shit. Individuals like these are often stuck to the balls of any dj that is mentioned more than three times on this message board. Well, to such individuals I say: Don't forget to lick the head of the shaft as well. Overall, one can easily mention two names like Draper and Junior in the same sentence because he / she is nothing more than a fucking groupie. I can't stand such sluts. If you're going to mention names, at least sound as if you have a knowledge about what you're mentioning. Otherwise, shut your pie-hole. I would have noticed that. Mike Bugout

klohe
JP is due props cuz he spins long ass sets...I would too with the right amount of "uppers", gotta give love to DT...just cuz he's always been my fav dating back to Tunnel Dayz (no plays to their crowd as much as him)...Francois K was a good comedown DJ, Junior is amazing when he's not being a lil bitch (which is more times than not), Morillo rocks his subliminal sessions, I was never impressed with JV @ Roxy, The Low End Specialists are nice along with Rich Woods, Victor Calderone always impressed me...dating back to the 1st time I saw him @ Roxy in '97, Howells used move me...but lately his sets sound repetitive to me, nyc needs more international play...(wait, that's what Twilo was for )
