We (bachelor party of 12 good looking/polite professional guys) had a VIP/Casino Host set up tables for us in advance last Thursday night. There was no line, we all stood there looking like fools for at least 30 minutes before the doormen would even look/acknowledge/talk to our "high rolling" leader who set it up. Then, they decide to charge us $40/each to just get in. The cover was only $30. So then they only let in 5 at a time over the next 30 minutes. Then 2 of us remained (told us each time they needed to find seats) then when us 2 could go in, we had to both pay another $30 cover. We get to the tables and we had a huge section (no chairs, just long couches all connected!) The place was half empty!!! The music was an awful hip-hop!!! (We had upstairs VIP tables at Body English that Saturday night and their hip-hop was much much more tolerable) We paid for the bottles and left after an hour or so......I've never witnessed the doormen at any club (Miami, LA, Tampa, Vegas, Atlanta, etc...) ever been so cocky, brazen and greedy in my life! I, nor any of us will ever go there again. All of us were gentlemen and no one showed disrespect the entire time. There was absolutely no legitimate excuse for their misconduct. vegasguy25 Posted January 28 Report Share Posted January 28 I went to Light once. There will not be a second time. That is one of the worst clubs in Vegas, I think. The door situation alone is enough to get me to not go there. Not only that, they charge exorbinant covers to get into what is a very mediocre room, with bad music to boot. Overall, I think that is a really bad club, and I tell everyone who asks to steer clear of it. The place simply cannot hold a candle to other clubs in town like Ice, Tangerine and Pure. mrvegas Posted January 28 Report Share Posted January 28 Before you do anything make sure you ask around before you book anything, Light is know for being cocky, and thats kinds of their thing, it's like "we didn't let Shaq in cause he didn't fit the dress code". They try to cater to celebs and treat everyone else like shit. There are other clubs here so don't get turned off to get vegas. Ask around on this site, and if you need any info pm me. BillLe Posted January 28 Report Share Posted January 28 all I have to say is that casino hosts at Bellagio has no pull for their guests. I have set guests up at Light many times and never had a problem. The real reason is the host was trying to get the fellas in with one table, but in reality there shoudl've been two. Also, not sure if this si the case with you, mosy of the time a casino host sets somethign up, the guest will neever tip the guys at the club which is standard. Instead they tip the casino host and the casino host doesn't tip out to the club.That's not to take away from the door situation at Light. believe me, I get much respect at clubs here in Vegas, but it took a while to get recognition at Light. At the very least, you should contact Bellagio management and don't let this one go. Get your money back for the covers you paid! And also don't waste your time at Light anyway. Rudest people I've ever encountered at a club - that place blows anyways. For some reason people from out of town still think that place is good on Sundays - I always do my best to bad mouth that place and turn away many people as possible. It was a Saturday night and we were looking for something to do. This was the 1st time ever I had someone approach me and attempt me to get inside their club. The door guy was like 'I'll hook you guys up with a VIP table, just buy 2 bottles". I rebutted, 'Two bottles? There is only 4 of us?'.He didn't budge and we left.Morale: bad 1st impression on a clubber who frequents VegasI have never stepped within 20 ft. of that place to date!After all the reviews I have read, light is a waste of time & money. But ... once in, I opted for leaving after about 2 hours.a) The floorplan sucks. One of the worse foreplans Ive seen, anywhere, ever. There is no place to stand because the isle in front of the bar is too narrow. The decore is virtually nonexistent.c) We left after 2 hours because the average age of the females in the club was 42 years old dressed like walked out of a bridal shower at the Ritz Carlton.We left the club, went elswehere. Returned later, and I will tell you, we ran into 4 of the most stunning girls to ever walk this planet (one was a major model out of SOBE) .... and THEY could not get in. And there were countless more LOL. There was even more stunning chicks at the bar next store which is excellent. None of these girls ever got in. They grabbed us, we all cabbed it across the street to Risque which was very good that night.Yes, every venue is different night and every weekend. Vegas has alot to thank for the tourists and I believe if you are Light or the Beach anyone, tourist or local, who wants to visit your club treat them with the most respect. First they wanted to shoe horn us all into a small table on the side of the dancefloor with only 3 seats. We then offered to spend more money for a better table. The doormen are always a problem although we have the right hook and only waited a few minutes. I agree with Bill Le it is all about tips and our guy takes care of the door guys some way some how. He is tight with all of them for a reason, $$$$$. Without him or someone else with pull 5 guys would be Fucked! 12 is even worse. I know what you mean about the cocky guys, they are encouraged to be that way even though they really aren't jerks. If I didn't know them, I would hate them too!! I don't know why those models wouldn't have gotten in, though, they usually cater to pretty girls. Hell, my friends and I always get in for free, no problem, and we're not models (Well, I'm a shoe model, but practically every small girl in vegas is a shoe model). That's just being ridiculous. The thing about Vegas is getting a crew together that never get to see each other and party is one of the great things about it. If you are a bunch of guys here for a bachelor party or whatever make it easy on yourself and get a table. bitesize Posted February 1 Report Share Posted February 1 I liked it the first few times I went, but I think its because they were special events (One was Nelly's apple bottom party) and the drinks were free. The last time I went it was pretty boring, the dance floor was so packed you couldn't dance without being violated, and when we were walking around some guy burned my arm with his cigarette.
