I told my hot VIP host to take her girls out to Ice.The line at Pure Saturday was ridiculous. I heard that the opening on New Years wasn't even this bad. Luckily we have the hookups and got right inside to our table on the dancefloor. A porn company had all of the other tables in our section so you can imagine what it was like.The day before at Studio 54 with JP was okay. I could dance better than everybody there. Some people who got to OPM at 11:30 didn't even get inside until after 3am. I seriously don't understand how anybody can wait that long to get into a club! greenie Posted June 1 Report Share Posted June 1 No doubt a sick weekend in the desert. My fourth time out there on Memorial Day in the past five years and by far my favorite. The clubs were sick, but the crowds inside were really great this year. Either that or I've grown remarkably tolerant (maybe I'm just a quicker, mellower drunk). Also helped that I was able to get a room at TI for less than a third of what I had originally booked it at... guess there was some serious vacancy in town at the last second.Drove home the full 9+ hours with only filling and dumping stops... was just in a daze with all the beats and beauties in my head from the weekend. ukjay43 Posted June 1 Report Share Posted June 1 Arrived early Friday Morning. MGM was ridiculously crowded on Friday night. Tabu was actully better than Studio 54. Drai's was just absurd. They made everybody and I mean "everybody" pay the $50 to get in. Local Talent/Celebrities/LA Vip's. It didn't matter. I love Drai's and I know many people there but to make everybody pay and then overcrowd the place was a bit much. Totally unfair to the Security guys. Big UPs to Rico/Cliff/Royal for taking it all in stride. Music was awesome as always. I met a good bit of people this weekend as well. My woman has a tendancy to do that. ;-)Saturday Night we started at Vivid in the Venetian. It was pitiful. We then hit up Naked at Curve at the Aladdin. The Music was good but the vibe was not. They didn't know if they were a house club or there usual "Hip Hop" spot.Went to Drai's afterwards and it was insane. Chris Aurelius completely went off and we shut the place down along with about another 1000 people til 10:30AM. Went back to the hotel and showered. Had a decision to make. Green Valley Pool Party or Rehab at the Hardrock?We ended up going to Green Valley Ranch due to the fact we had 2 Cabana's there and more "friends" at the door. Based on my conversations with people who attended both, the crowd was better at Rehab but the music/sound system at the GVR was way better. Bad Boy Bill really turned it out. He didn't come on until the end and many people had already left after being in the sun for 6 hours or so. The party was totally disorganized with belly dancers/fire eaters/Circue De Solei performers etc...We had a good time but wished we would have gone to Rehab anyways. Sunday night everybody I was with completely crashed and could go no more. We all fell asleep and didn't wake up until 10 or so Monday morning.About 12 of us went to the pool at the MGM and some others went to Rehab to watch Gwenn Steffani play.Those of us who stayed around until Tuesday were very fortunate. The Foundation Room at Mandalay Monday night was completely off the chart. It was completely VIP/Celebrity/Pro Football/Basketball Players et al. I have never seen so many "beautiful people" in one place anywhere. I can pretty much guarantee that if you weren't there with your girl or guy and went home with somebody, it probably cost you. ;-)I sat on a couch with David Copperfield and DJ Tiesto for about 30 minutes talking about a wide variety of topics. Terrell Owens was so "out of it" he asked me if could drink the OJ Bottle straight? ;-)And Laides and Gentleman the DJ's in the Foundation Room are like no where else. Holy Shiznit. Everybody was bouncing off the walls. I never thought I would say this but that place put Drai's into the "second tier". And I think Drai's is easily one of the best Afterhours spots in the world.For those of you who have never been to the Foundation Room on a Monday night, you better recognize. The view it presents is easily the sickest vantage point anywhere in Sin City.We had such a tremendous time this past 5 Days we are looking to going back for 4th of July. Driving up Thursday Mid-Afternoon and leaving on Tuesday night. Don't know where to stay right now but really would like to go to Rehab 2-3 days(Sat-Mon). I don't mean to hate, but I don't see what all the fuss is about Drais. I should paint my basement walls red, invite a bunch of hookers, homosexuals, and crackheads over and charge everyone $50 to get in. Saturday morning was my second time being to Drais. Payed my $50, had an eight dollar water and walked right back out the door. You need to get out more if you think Drais is easily one of the best afterhours in the world.
