In 2005, we had the thread http://bbs.clubplanet.com/showthread.php?t=272174&highlight=review+of+vegas

in which we all put forward each of our own suggestions where to go in Vegas. It's time for a new thread. Here is a list of spots where to go and on which nights of the week (as of now). Lets hear where everyone likes to go.

1. Tao

Location: Venetian Hotel

Type: Club

Opened: Sept. 2005

New Feature: Wednesday nights called Superstition

Tao is the $22 million dollar spectacular that we were the first predict as Vegas' next number one venue. Its restaurant in New York had, in just a short number of years, become one of the highest grossing establishment of its kind annually, passing other hotspots that had topped the national rankings for decades. R & I, the leader in the food service industry for ranking restaurants, in 2005 ranked Tao New York, opened only just in 2001, as the third highest grossing restaurant in the entire nation, sales topping $24 million, second only to Tavern on the Green. Tao Vegas added Joseph Muscaglione as Wine & Beverage Director for both the restaurant and nightclub which expects to carry over 200 selections including a $7,200.00 bottle of 1945 Chateau Latour. Tao opened September 22 to press and September 23 to a celebrity gala of the recording industry's biggest names. Within days, celebrities spotted at Tao included Janet Jackson, all of Linkin Park, Steve Wynn, and Nelly.Tao features a 3,000 square foot ultralounge and a 10,000 square foot nightclub. It also boasts a 400 seat restaurant and eight private sky boxes with mini bars.

Tao's first biggest night was Thursdays (Worship) that currently often feature open bars for the first hour and designer promotions Fashion shows. Tao is open Wednesdays through Saturdays. Tao's lines are long, and sometimes very long. Worse thing to do at Tao: show up with more guys than girls.

Things to look for Certain Thursdays have open bar promotions for the first two hours.

2. Tryst

Location: The Wynn Hotel

Type: Club

Opened: December 2005

New Feature: Open Thursdays to Sundays.

Tryst opened its doors the final week of 2005 with a stunning waterfall, a multimillion dollar design, and a top management from afterhours hotspot Drais. Located previously at Le Bete, Tryst is a total floor to ceiling remodel. The staff is exceptional and kind. Morevoer this is a "can do" venue. 8 guys needing line pass? At other venues, not possible. At Tryst no problem. 10 guys wanting a table and some bottles? Sure. At Tryst, they work to make sure your experience is wonderful.

3. Ice

Location: Freestanding

Type: Club

New Feature: No longer with Godskitchen

This is a new Ice. Free bottles, free guestlists, even private parties before the venue opens on certain nights, thats the new Ice. If you love be treated well with a great music scene, Ice is back with a vengance.

Things to look for Watch for certain nights where the hookups are great for Vegas' top djs.

4. Jet

Location: Mirage

Type: Club

New Feature: ScottyBoy residency

If you want to hear some of Vegas' best Djs like Scotty Boy, then head to Jet where many of them have residencies here weekly. Jet is good several nights of the week and especially Mondays lead by one of the nicest people in town. You will hear some of the best music ini Vegas on certain nights.

Things to look for Most Mondays have great special promotions for that night.

---- Afterhours. ----

Many people have different energy levels for doing Afterhours. Some people can go to 7 am. Some, only to 4 am. If you can last, this is one suggestion.

stop 1. Teatro

Location: MGM

Type: Club

Features: Digital Boy (one of the best around) on certain nights

Do Teatro early in your afterhours. Some of the top people in town work at or use to work at Teatro for a reason. Its a fun place. But not a place to stay your entire afterhours.

Things to look for Incredibly well poured drinks at decent major city prices.

stop 2. Empire

Location: Freestanding

Do Empire next. Get there to hear Hollywood and pay attention to when the guestlist cuts off. Dance your feet still you cant stand.

Things to look for Bookings of some of the best djs around for certain weekends and other weekends with great hookups for some of Vegas' top djs.

stop 3. Drais.

Location: Barbary Coast

Now its time to do Drais. Near early morning. You've danced, its time to eat and drink with some of the great residencies like Chris Gar-cia in town. Great people, great times.

Things to look for Some of the greatest, if not the greatest, local vegas djs are residents here.

Other places to visit:

1. Foundation Room Mondays

People love this place and rightfully so. Its fun. The music is great.

Things to look for Upcoming bookings with some major non local djs coming in Feburary.

2. OPM Wednesdays for Latin music, Thurs to Sun for hiphop

Depending on why you go to OPM, we like it for our 10-12 pm stop. If you are a guy, you will see why. And of course you get to see Masterweb, one of the nicest guys in town.

3. Preparty - MIX

Great spot to start the evening. If you are a guy, you will see why. Best time to hit up, 8-10 pm

Things to look for Wonderful staff that aims to please. Oh, and please dont wear non dress shoes, guys.

4. Preparty - Planet Holywood, Paris Hotel

Check both spots out. While everything changes, these spots notoriously have cheap drinks believe or not.

Things to look for Happy Hour in the evening, on ur walk to OPM!

5. Body English Sunday

Really an incredible spot that arguably was better than Pure during the pre-Tao years.

---- Hotels ----

There is always someone who wants to ask where to stay. It depends on your price range.

Most of the clubs listed above lie between Venetian and MGM. A lotta people who posted in 05 who had 5 day stays or similar stayed at two diff hotels (many during summer months) switching to Hard Rock on Sunday for Rehab and BE and staying on the strip Wed to Sat. Its up to you. Heres a map

Risque is in trouble. I believe they are starting a brazilian promotion or something like that ON SATURDAYS starting this week. Looked like a last straw attempt to stay in business and I haven't seen any industry hype about that except a few of their paid ads.

Pitty cuz I liked that club's floreplan, the chicks that went there, and the drinks. Defin needs a redo.

:bump: While the "prize fighting" continues elsewhere on this board (omg lol), how about some discussion about nightlife ... maybe just a little. :D
