I think almost all of us are depress/upset in one way or another (re. various things in our life) but at varying degrees. Suicide comes about when someone is at the edge of their pain tolerance; when they can't bare life as it exist anymore. I agree that it is a selfish act, but I don't think we can criticize people for being selfish here. I don't think we can call them cowards because they are doing something to ease their pain. As for the people you leave behind, I think it's just irresponsible if kids aren't unprovided for. In the end, all the people in the world can care tremendously for you, but you have to care the most about yourself. You can't and shouldn't live your life for other people. A friend reminded me that the other day ... Off subject, but what do you guys think of support groups? My friend's father committed suicide in his backyard after he lost his job. Another friend drove out to the desert and shot himself a year after we all graduated from high school ... no one knows why exactly. I also listen to rap/r&b ... but not as often as I used to. I'm a newbie to trance/house so all my listening pleasures are devoted to getting caught up these days. I also like a bit of Cantonese/Mandarin pop ... helps me remember my semester abroad in China and 4 years of Chinese in undergrad. I've always wanted to travel in Turkey ... something about the history of the land has always really attracted me. It was in Virgin-Las Vegas today, picking out a CD for my little sister to buy me for X'mas, when I found DT's Back to Mine. The back cover said it came out in 2000 and I was wondering if anyone on the message board is familiar with it? My first clubbing experience was in Montreal ... Dome. That was 4 years ago and I haven't been back since. Have no clue what type of tune they blast or anything, but if it's still in the same place, the venue is really nice. My first concert was also NKOTB ... Hangin' Tough tour, I still have the official collector's book in my closet @ my parent's house. I was a bit disappointed with Amsterdam. I thought both disk start out too strongly, with disk 2 being just plain foul. If you skip the first few tracks though, the CD is actually pretty solid and is definitely worth the 17 bucks.
