  1. wow, that's a really broad question. well, to find the djs that you like, you could start with compilations, but, i agree with vodkaredbull - download stuff off the 'net. go to http://www.audiogalaxy.com and look around for a bit. or, you could always find a thread here on clubplanet about who everyone thinks is the best dj. it's usually between: paul van dyk sasha john digweed danny tenaglia jonathan peters richie hawtin danny howells deep dish paul oakenfold and a rotating cast of about ten others; those are always fun at the very least, if not helpful .
  2. 48%. we all seem to be around the same.
  3. !!!!!!! never heard either of those!
  4. BUMP, party peoples!!!! c'mon, i need the info!
  5. l.a. rules; that's where this new york native moved to.
  6. my brother once told me, "no one wants to hear about your dreams unless they're in them." that may be so, but, hey, tiesto was in my dream last night and i don't know the man, so i figured i'd share the dream with some people who've heard of him. it's not particularly fascinating, i know, but i'm bored and this board needs some activity. a faceless female friend and i were running down a new york street, past my old high school, laughing, yet trying to get away from something or someone. there were cabs everywhere, but the traffic wouldn't stop and it was dense. we were running between the cars fearlessly, yet they weren't honking and we weren't getting hit. we finally caught a cabbie's attention, and he stuck his head out of the passenger side window. he was tiesto, wearing sunglasses, a black shirt (the same shirt he wore when i saw him at giant last month), and a humongous smile. he waved us over to his taxi; we sprinted over, and got inside...
  7. a-ha! maybe i should "do the mugwump" (don't get any ideas, mugz; you know what i mean!) and just work on getting my posts up... no, seriously, i'll be fair, those days are long behind our friend mugz, he's grown since then, along with his # of posts .
  8. do the clubplanet powers that be let you pick a cool title after you reach a certain number of posts? is that how it works?
  9. rock on, you guys! where would i be without you?
  10. i used to watch mtv when my dad left me home alone (which was a lot - neglect...) . the house would get dark and i would be too scared to get up off the bed and turn on the lights. and those videos scared the shit outta me: herbie hancock - rock it (the clothes dancing out of the closet!!! are my clothes gonna do that?) pat benatar - love is a battlefield (omigod! thrashing about!) billy idol - all of his videos! (scary, but still sexy; confusing...) peter schilling - major tom (blastoff!) the fixx - one thing leads to another (mentioned above; fire - scary.) talking heads - burning down the house (the big clothes, the projections on the street: soooo scary) and, of course, thriller. dope, not scary videos: inxs - need you tonight (the cards - straight ripoff from bob dylan, but i didn't know that.) prince - when doves cry (wow.)
  11. that's pretty good! thanks! but i still gotta talk to you about biting my screenname...
  12. dude; those stories are depressing!
  13. lost my shit-for-pay job and broke-as-fuck... don't know what i'm gonna do. someone make me laugh!
  14. ok, just gotta point out one thing- the trendies suck, but trendy is a state of mind, they're not always identified by what they wear. while i believe that most cowboy-hat wearing clubgoers aren't "keeping it real," i have seen a couple of shiny shirts at clubplanet meetups . let's just remember that not all books can be judged by their covers. and i believe, too, that some things were better "back in the day," when things were "underground," but things evolve, and we do tend to romanticize the past when it becomes the past. for instance, i used to go to raves when they were underground in l.a., but that also meant that they got busted by the cops, that they were full by the time you got there, and that they were even busted by the time you paid for your map. and what about the djs who never even showed? it's easy to say "those were the days" when they're no longer available. yeah, but i'm also being devil's advocate for food for thought. i'm bummed about a lot of what's going on in the scene, too. i'd like to enjoy my time out without bts (for the rave scene) and the phonies (everywhere). i hope for improvement in the future, too. * and just a note, what's up with the screenname, wisdom? moving in on me?
  15. come on, fellow clubplanet freaks, weyes isn't feeling so good tonight. tell me an endlessly amusing story; i know you've got 'em... please?
  16. nightclubcity sucked ass anyway! clubplanet 4ever !
  17. hmmmmmm... i know i'll forget a lot of greats... katharine hepburn doris day cary grant gene kelly (although perhaps it's just his dancing that wins me over) ginger rogers (although perhaps it's the dancing thing again) groucho marx (although perhaps it's just his comedy that makes him so good) ok, well, harpo and chico marx too, but only when with groucho leslie caron goldie hawn (totally works the blonde "thing" to her advantage) warren beatty all for now!
  18. sasha AND digweed for charging so much! ridiculous!!!
  19. we're all too nice on this board. :rainbow: if you'd really wanted to get some nastiness going, you should've headed for the drama board; those kids love this topic and would've pointed their fingers at you first. and they don't play - you'd have been toast. there's still time...
  20. i just listened to his version of "you were always on my mind," and it wasn't too shabby! really! i swear! i'm not kidding!
  21. how much is he charging, goddammit?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. she's been around these parts, but a pm's always worth a try.
