a friend once told me, "you know what your problem is? you think too much." another friend once told me, "you know what your problem is? you buy drugstore shampoo." but i digress. the first comment was laid on me ten years ago and it's still with me, proving that there's something to it. and here's my point: i think about this kind of stuff and it takes me in circles a lot. the only resolution i've come to is that there are no definite answers to what time is, why things happen, or any of those things, because they really are just abstract concepts. my feeling is that everyone just has to make his or her own peace with them.

i really don't wanna get into the new york v. l.a. argument, which is why i didn't post on that thread, but the difference in the attitudes of those cities's clubgoers was ever so apparent in core's clientele last night that it was staggering. [note: weyes defected from nyc to l.a.] so try to ignore the new york debate of what i just said, (even though i couldn't keep from putting that in there) and read on . core was all about people having fun - just a relaxed atmosphere of people getting happy. none of that small-club snobbery that's been all too omnipresent these days (i'm so glad to see a small club with a big heart, finally!) and all of the music that clubs have been charging way too much for at a more reasonable price. *thanks for the list, ken! weyes got home sleepy and smiling .

trinity23 - where did you see that little ditty? did giant post that somewhere? and what exactly is spundae's non-weatherproof setup? (weyes is so often out of the loop and i don't know much about spundae's event.) if giant did put that out there it's pretty juvenile and unprofessional. i don't accept it, but i have come to realize that drama will always be around, new year's and every other time of the year. keeping the scene drama-free isn't about where you go, it's about what you bring with you. just go wherever you'll have the most fun. you guys seem to have found your spots, so rock that ! i'll be at giant 'cause pvd rocks my world. i'm going to core tonight too, for my first time. don't recall ever hearing feelgood, either, so i'm stoked about that. i look forward to hearing your guys's feelings on this evening tomorrow; always good to hear other cp'ers's perspectives .

o, don't get me wrong - i wasn't challenging your choice of paul van dyk; he's awesome and i chose him too, after all. i'm just saying that his fame helps him to make more "top three" lists, just as dj slingnuts at someone's local lounge most likely won't be making anyone's list way across the country.

shit - has it been a year?!? wow, my first meetup was a dinner at apple and i remember being scared out of my mind about going - going to a bar and joining a group of people that probably already all knew each other... but i had a great night and met two of my very dearest friends. i really do miss you since i moved out to l.a. it really was amazing how often i started to run into cpers. but i do visit nyc and i'll run into your crazy asses again; and you won't get rid of me in print (on this or the l.a. board) anytime soon .
