  1. anybody else finding that the posts are posting times in the wrong places and putting the posts out of order? or is it just 'cause i'm in l.a.?
  2. i hear that. dancing saves my life every day. damn, don't make me go on about it - i could forever. without it i don't know where i'd be. to everyone and everything all around it, thanks, and i'll see you next time, always!
  3. reminds me of a thread that our friend glowsticks started months ago. he was singled out by danny; danny got on the mic and said something along the lines of, "quit that shit - it was over in 1995!" glowsticks was originally embarrassed, but then was so honored to be noticed and addressed by the one and only dt. he thought of it as "stealing danny's thunder." i personally think that danny should chill about it. if people still like to do it and see it, then let let them do their thing. what happened to "be yourself?"
  4. i've been working part-time in a flower shop, but someone told my manager that i'd said something about her behind her back. i don't know who it was or what the person said, but ever since then my job has only been scheduling me to work for about 5 hours a week; this is because they're too fucking bitchass to fire me (they'd have to pay unemployment that way) and are just waiting for me to quit . ok - who doesn't complain a little bit about the boss when she's a horrible tyrant who screams at everyone constantly because she's an unhappy, mentally deficient person in a dead-end job? but who among one's co-workers is enough of an asshole to tell the boss anything that would be said in a conversation about her? so here i am, leaving the rising ranks of the riciulously underpaid to the ridiculously rising ranks of the unemployed. (hi, bigj!) anybody out there know of any job leads, especially for those of us with b.f.a.s in photography? :worry2:
  5. that looks like a fuckin' dopeass party! rock on!!! (ups to: skylab 2000 donald glaude* micro* x-dream* dj craze* krs one run dmc ) *denotes on my list of suggestions!
  6. a lot of the aforementioned djs are great, but they're not rave djs. here are a few of my fave rave performers. space girl! 'nuff said. (not a dj - a keyboard/other machines i don't understand artist) well, i'll list a few more, in no particular order. x-dream dj funk sandra collins donald glaude micro bassbin twins dj tiesto dj craze (not his d-n-b; his scratching is beyond compare.) where were you planning to throw this party? different djs hold different weight in different places. (for instance, no one in l.a. has heard of new-york-based space girl.) p.s. tiesto, collins, and glaude play big clubs on their own, too; maybe they would be more expensive to book - i dunno.
  7. rock on, sai; i wish i could've been there with you. i'll see you soon and we will FUCK SHIT UP!!!
  8. your violent smileys confuse me... i dunno the answer to your question; i just wanted to direct you to my post on deep dish in case they are coming to ny and you'd like a review. http://bbs.clubplanet.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=64758
  9. i'd never seen them; in fact, all i really knew of theirs were their two remixes of "rapture," which were enough to make me go. holy criznap, i haven't been to a show this fantastic in i don't know how long (don't make me think; it's a little too early )! most nights my lame ass usually gets overcome by the need to sit down and i end up dancing in my seat, but last night i stayed standing. they kept me in a state of daze and when the dj plays your song, you never know where you are. great night with great friends, and great music still echoing off those pool walls and through my memory.
  10. is no one going? meetup at the pool...
  11. i went to school out here, so i've got a lot of earthquake stories. after a while i got to be like one of those four-legged animals that could predict the things . i actually think they're kinda fun (although that definitely has something to do with my never having been in a really serious one) and grounding - no pun intended; they kind of remind you that we're all mortal, after all.
  12. i don't know if i'll end up seeing s&d or not. i might end up seeing danny or going to (gasp!) a rave. i miss my raves so much (if space girl is playing anywhere - i'm there) and s&d are expensive. but i definitely am going out in nyc over turkey day - so, who knows. i'll keep you posted . but, aren't you seeing s&d here anyway?
  13. i know, i know, you're sick of my constant begging for people to come over to the l.a. board. but i started a poll over there that i really want answers to. so, please come over to http://bbs.clubplanet.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=64240 and answer: what determines what time you leave the club to go home? thanks!
  14. i know, i know, you're sick of my constant begging for people to come over to the l.a. board, but i started a poll over there that i really want answers about. so, please, would you come over to http://bbs.clubplanet.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=64240 and tell me what determines the time you leave a club to go home? thanks!
  15. here are some listings of what's going on this weekend: http://www.groovetickets.com/eventlistings.asp have fun!
  16. well... other people are much more qualified to talk about this stuff than i am (so they should jump in here!), but i just have to say that i am beyond stoked to be seeing deep dish on saturday!!! unfortunately, clubs here close early. deep dish was to play an 8-hour set, which i thought was too good to be true, and, of course, it turned out to be. it was shortened this week to 4 hours , making the whole night only go till 3am. weak. s & d are coming out here soon, too, but i forget when because i can't afford to go . overall, i've been ok with who's been coming out here (donald glaude and sandra collins, 2 of my faves, have residencies at giant), just not with how long or late they play. giant, the biggest club out here, has a site at giant club (minus the space) dot com but i was a die-hard raver before i moved back out here in june, and the west coast rave scene is so different from the east coast's that i turned clubber. out here the raves are all-ages, meaning that they're populated by 14-year-old zombies fucked up out of their heads. it's scary and no fun at all. 2 people died at the last one i went to, and one turned up dead after being missing for a week. and i find that the rave music out here isn't as sophisticated, either. so i've weighed out the pros and cons; men in shiny shirts with silhouettes of naked women on them can be ignored more easily than dead teenagers. i'll visit my better ny rave djs over vacations or something, and tiesto'll rock my world out here in the present. sorry for the epic post!
  17. nope, i didn't feel it, but i thought you'd been here a while, sassa! how long have you been in san diego? i moved back to l.a. on june 12th and i've felt 2 up here since then.
  18. hey, you guys, i still love visiting the ny board and all... but we'd like to see you drop by and say a little hello too (it gets lonely out here on the l.a. board sometimes ). spread the love; rock the bicoastal posting !
  19. www.twiloclub.com rudy wouldn't object to it now, right?
  20. all right, kiddies, who's gonna be out to see deep dish this saturday? i am so stoked... we can complain later about their set being shortened to four hours from 8... anyway, a meetup would be in order, most definitely.
  21. a meetup sounds good, littleboybleu! blueangel's drink/dinner meetups were really great for cpnyc and the first one i went to was where i met my first cp people. how did you guys do 'em out here? i really do wanna see s & d but am too poor and am seeing deep dish instead. i'm gonna have to start a roll call thread on that one. i hope to see you guys there.
  22. how much is dt charging for his turkey day eve gig? ignorant out-of-state minds wanna know (and i've never been to vinyl, either). *oh, and one doesn't need tickets, does one?
  23. excuse the fucked up, repeated last choice. you know what it means. sorry, and thanks!
  24. as a raver and clubber in new york city, the parties i attended mostly went to 8 am and later. i've become a "stay-till-the-end" person, and i can't think of the last time when i've left before closing. but it's only been recently that i've seen so many non-hardcore clubgoers that i wanna ask people: what determines when you leave a club?
