  1. why the rage, buddy? it's all good...
  2. that what happened to me here out in l.a.: tiesto was fuckin' kickass, but the venue bit. the line for the room tiesto was in was at a standstill all night (and i got there hella early, too), so my friends and i had to go to the room with the audio linkup. the only visuals they gave us were two screens showing us what was going on in the other room - talk about rubbing salt in our wounds. and the cameras they used for that were really low quality. but they didn't even give us lights. anyway, we didn't even get to go into his room till the last 15 minutes/ half-hour of his set, and he only played for 3 hours. but tiesto was great. just caught up in a bad setup. the club is called giant, and it rotates actual physical venues around the city. after this fiasco, though, the powers that be have decided not to hold parties at that particular one (well, after one more last event). so they've learned their lesson, for what that's worth, and it won't happen again.
  3. sorry if this is a somewhat worthless reply, but i remember that there were a bunch of articles a few months ago about the sf nightlife (there's a way to look that stuff up, isn't there?). i can't believe there isn't an sf board; might wanna bring that to DaVe's attention for correction. but i do know that the raves in sf are fuckin' dope, if that interests you at all.
  4. and back to the main subject, anyway, i was never just talking about "the price is right." paul johnson kicks ass, "price is right" or not. if you've ever seen the man live, he knows how to move a dancefloor and, more importantly, my ass.
  5. hmmmmm. i'm not even sure if i believe that. how much respect do you have for the bad boy family?
  6. i can tell you didn't like him to begin with, so don't front. if you don't like the guy, that's cool, but don't act like he lost you as a fan because of one song he did.
  7. that is the most frightening costume i have ever seen! here's some candy! get off my porch!
  8. a question for the ages.
  9. bert likes pigeons and paperclips, and he's a people person! i don't think he'd condone decapitation!
  10. why'd he have to go and cancel his visit out west, huh? danny tenaglia make-a me sad...
  11. well, i'm one broke-ass mofo, so i plan out everything accordingly. it's all about who's top priority and timing. i gotta see deep dish on the 3rd when they're @ giant @ orion - so i can't really afford to see them and s & d. but that's also because i'm going home to nyc for thanksgiving and will definitely be going out then. besides, i'll probably end up seeing s & d thanksgiving eve when i'm in ny at cipriani at 42nd (wherever the hell that is), so there's my two-in-one solution . i don't know how much they'll be charging in ny, but i gotta say that $53 is totally outrageous, and these people (whoever have the nerve to set these prices) have no souls. the fuckers know we'll still pay it 'cause we're so in love, but i wonder if they know how broke we're going .
  12. you obviously have never heard "finger fuck" !
  13. PAUL JOHNSON CAN DO NO WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!! the man is a genius!!!!!!
  14. thanks, i'll check out the stuff you mentioned first 'cause i don't know it. but depeche mode and industrial isn't quite what i'm after; so far i've got stuff like deep dish's remix of "rapture" and joey negro's "american beauty" - a little more "get up and dancey" - know what i mean?
  15. i think the topic says it all. any suggestions? thanks!
  16. dude, who said you had to stop! go for yours!!! what i love about candy corn is, if you eat enough, your throat starts to close and you start to suffocate. those who choke first are the losers and that, my friends, is what separates the girls from the women.
  17. it's bad enough that dt cancelled his l.a. halloween gig - now he has to play halloween in new york, the city from where i just moved!?!? now, no new york v. l.a. comments; i just wanted to say that it's a wee bit of a slap in the face pour moi, and i now have nothing cool to do on all hallow's eve, and it's all your fault.
  18. my aunt's birthday is coming up, and she always asks me to make a mix for her every year. ever since i've been into electronica of any sort it's been really hard for me to even try, because i don't have a "system" to speak of, and therefore can't mix or anything like that (not to mention that i'm not a dj, for chrissakes!), but she insists. sooo, can anyone recommend any songs that i can download off the 'net that stand on their own that are fairly accessible to the non-house/trance-fanatic ear? (i'm looking for house and trance - and stuff that's more infectious to the feet than the ears.) thanks for any help!
