  1. ok - check this out. you're not gonna believe how lost i am on all of this. i only heard "rapture" once, in july, on digweed's radio show. i have no idea which mix that was, or what digweed might have been doing to it. i'm not even really all that familiar with deep dish, except that i thought dd was house of some sort. so, you see, i don't really know what it is i'm looking for. all i know is that i heard a little clip on satellite's website (one of those kinds of clips that plays clips within a clip - not all that telling), and it sounded as deep and dark and lovely as i had remembered. i did, however, hear it again, on british radio (i'm amazed i figured out how to do that!) last night - an upbeat mix with a commercial pop sound. and this time, the vocals were sung by a female AND a man; i had no recollection of a male voice the first time i heard it, but i could be wrong on that seeing as i've only heard the song once! (but i didn't like this second version much) so, which version do you think i've heard? but, here's the deal: i'm not sure if this computer (my roommate's) can download things. he never does, so i'm assuming there's a reason for that. i thank you all so much and ask you to wait a sec - i'll ask my roomie tomorrow. but i was hoping someone knew where i could buy the vinyl.
  2. i've been trying my damnedest and i can't get a hold of the damn thing!!!!!!!!! "rapture" by iao/john creamer/stephane k. satellite's been sold out of it for weeks, sonic groove doesn't have it, nobody in l.a. does, and the ministry of sound website doesn't offer it. does anybody know where i can get it? p.s. i can't download things off the 'net 'cause my computer sucks and all that jazz...

  4. is there a station out here that gets digweed's radio show? i know he's got one on the uk's kiss fm from 12am - 2am, THEIR time (i know how to listen to kiss live, THEIR time, and am now listening to some wackass pop remixes: "i'll be the one to tuck you in at night. and if you wanna leave, i can guarantee you won't find nobody else like me" - with a disco beat), but i thought i heard somewhere that it was possible to hear it out here some other way than through my computer at 12am THEIR time/4pm ours. anybody know?
  5. no, sir - it's been confirmed. i got a credit to my card today. there isn't a "smilie" sad enough for my mood about this one, but i'll throw this one out.
  6. hi! o, and i'm planning to see s&d, too; a meetup sounds in order. i'll be in ny over thanksgiving too! maybe that's why we all post on new york so much; just can't get that damn town out of our systems. i'll probably hit up something else when i'm there though - something to bring back ol' memories, whatever that'll be. it'll most likely be a rave, a smaller one, held in a city club, for the older (as compared to out here, at least!) rave set.
  7. i'm crushed - absolutely crushed. i suppose i can't accurately convey through words, to people who don't know me, exactly how incredibly stoked i was to see danny, and to be seeing him on the holiday of all holidays - halloween. he has decided not to leave nyc for a while and cancelled a night of infinite possibilities for many of us here in l.a. (not to mention the rest of those other places he was going, but who cares about those; cry for me, dammit!) this fear of flying has to stop eventually. is the world just gonna stay grounded from september 11th on out? come on, we can't all hide in underground bunkers from now on - life has to go on sometime. and we gotta keep on dancing.
  8. omigod! i'm gonna have to start a new topic on this one.
  9. i used to get tuna/avocado & yellowtail/scallion rolls last time i had sushi i got food poisoning and got really sick (though only for that night) so now i only eat vegetarian sushi. but my relationship with the stuff was nice while it lasted!

    Tiesto at Giant

i have friends who are going, or so they said when last we spoke. do you have any reason to believe that the booking was cancelled very recently?
  11. sir, i must wholeheartedly disagree with your first comment. ya just gotta know howta work it! ok. here's how to go about it: if you're going to dress up as a particular person, your character has different outfits for different situations/occaisions/times of day, etc. so, just pick one that's danceable! for instance, i'm going to be ann-margret (actress, dancer, vegas star, elvis's pal, sex kitten extraordinaire...). she spent most of her time in heels, even when she was dancing, but i'm more of a jumpy/ravey dancer, so that wouldn't work for me. my solution is to wear go-go boots, which she wore at one point in her career. as for the makeup, you just have to know how to put it on, girlfriend ! (unless, of course, you're talking about that cheap stuff, 'cause that's you're own sweet fault .) the water-soluble stuff they only sell around halloween in those little packages is crap, will run, and is only for amateurs, sweetie, so don't even go there! you have no excuse not to dress up on halloween. pick a costume in which you can dance (i'll even give you some choices: the easiest are famous humans, people you know, and abstract concepts - be creative on those, i know you can!) i can't wait to hear who/what you're gonna be...
  12. all right, sassafrass! take a little steppy backy for a sec - you misunderstood! i meant that the cp boards have just changed, not gotten better or worse. just because some people have left, it doesn't mean that these boards have somehow become inferior. so, there.
  13. o, i always wondered how those work. they look opaque in person, but you can see through them; what's up with that? i don't really know anything about contacts in general; are contacts like the nasty ones that the guy from limp biskit wears bigger than normal ones? and how good are these for your eyes, anyway? do they have uv protection or do they not, because they're just meant for costume and special effects?
  14. whoa... sketchy... how did you do that - what exactly did you - to your eyes? i was gonna be a rotting aaliyah this year but i thought it'd be too tacky.
  15. it's easier to say, "i fucked someone 'cause i was drunk," than to admit to yourself that you just wanted to have a meaningless sexual experience. i don't think people can use drugs or alcohol as valid excuses for behavior they would otherwise regret. i think it's simple dishonesty, whether it's to the people they're trying to protect or to themselves. and it's because of this phenomenon that we all have come to doubt each other's sincerity.
  16. i always have two favorite halloween plans of attack, and halloween is my fave holiday: 1) group costumes 2) someone you already look like in the past, my friends and i have been: - the scooby doo crew (velma, daphne, fred, shaggy, and a stuffed scooby) - the alice in wonderland people (alice, the caterpillar, the chesire cat, the mad hatter, tweedle dee and tweedle dum, the queen of hearts, the white rabbit) - the wizard of oz cast (dorothy, the scarecrow, the tin man, the cowardly lion, glinda, a munchkin, the wicked witch, and someone as a conceptual emerald city) and, because i have bangs, i've been the following people with bangs: - xena - daphne ( from scooby doo) - bettie page (the pinup girl) this year i wanted to do the group and bang thing and be judy jetson, but i couldn't convince the other people with whom i'm going out on halloween to be jetsons. but if you're someone you already look a bit like, you get a great response; people wonder why they never saw the resemblance before. works every time.
  17. don't drink anymore - can't, 'cause after one i am RIDICULOUSLY drunk. i tell no lies. but i went through stages. here's the timeline of my drinking life: jack, straight jack and coke fuzzy navels midori sours see? i just got candier as i went along, and now i can't drink at all!
  18. all right, yo, halloween is my favorite holiday, and i don't fuck around. i go all out in a serious way. i've been growing my hair out to be my all hallow's eve alter ego and i'll be dyeing it red. soon i'll start practicing doing my hair in her 1966-days fashion till i get it downpat, and today i will begin my search for the perfect dress and boots. i'll also have to study her makeup... but i've got TWO parties this year. my friend is throwing his annual halloween party the saturday before the 31st (which i've never been to due to logistics), complete with wacky porn stars and other personifactions of debauchery, and i'm going to see THE danny on the 31st! SO, i figure that, now that it's finally october, i can post about how stoked i am! anyone else going?
  19. the ny board has changed a lot, too; defected as well, i believe. but new kids have moved in on the block, and every place is always what you make it.
  20. holy criznap - i didn't even know that; i just meant that you visited the west coast board! or are you being silly again...
  21. you just paid us a visit, di'n'tcha?
  22. well, i dunno if she'll even be on the board today (she's been absent for a bit) but my friend - and yours - saigray celebrates a birthday today! (a lady never reveals her age!) so join me in sending out a "happy birthday" to her, and may she rock the fuck on.
  23. all right, you punks - i moved from new york back out here, to an empty ass board. don't make me go drastic on yer asses! i'm still posting on the new york board and going off over there, but it just ain't like cp without having peeps in your own town, y'know? rock out, i know you're there!
