  1. Actually I did have an accident in april, coming back from ferry corsten @ exit I believe - but not from falling asleep. It was raining pretty hard, and as I was about to go under an overpass, I hit a really long, deep puddle (more like a small pond) of water on the highway... I was in the left lane, and the water was mainly on the left side of the left lane... my car is really light, and I've been "pulled" to the side before by a deep puddle of water, but u can usually recover from it... this time I couldn't - it pulled my car sideways over about 6 feet straight into the median - and I slammed into the median sideways @ 65 mph... the car bounced off and started into a spin but I was able to save it and pull over safetly. Got out and looked - both of the wheels on the drivers side were slanted like \ instead of being straight like | ... cuz the median comes out on the bottom... I actually managed to drive it all the way back to PA, another 75 miles... even though I couldn't do more than 30 mph. Fuckin took me like 3 hours to get back. I was pretty pissed since I was completely sober & wide awake... couldn't believe that there was that much water... I called nj department of transportation or whatever & complained (it was on 78 soon after you get on 78 from nj turnpike) - but of course that did no good. My car was declared totaled - but finally I found a body shop to fix it up using all used parts - came out to $800... fuckin blows... hopefully won't happen again.

Wow that was long & pointless but I felt like venting... time for bed...

  2. My first warehouse party - definitely a nice change of pace. The luna had me in awe as soon as I stepped off the freight elevator - all I could say was "WOW". Never seen anything like it before. They coulda opened some windows tho - the heat got to me quickly.

Nice meetin quoth, xpander, abortionator (officially anyway), and possibly someone else (u all know how bad my damn memory is)...

Hadn't really heard much dnb before, and I gained an appreciation for it. First time dancing to it, and kinda made some progress... but quoth & echostar were right there putting me to shame lol :) The bpm is pretty ridiculous & hard to keep up with, and while I still prefer house/trance, it was nice to try something new.

Overall good time - thnx to those who convinced me to go ;)

  3. I used to be a soldier... and trust me 38 grand to the army is a drop in the ocean... they're wasting shitloads more than that... try 10 grand on a toilet seat or 8 grand for a hammer (there are documented cases of this). Hey, at least the 38 grand went to a good purpose :D but you all should be worried about the other 100 billion a year that the military wastes, not this 38,000

  4. lol... I think I was the only person in northern Maine who listened to dance music. We only had 2 radio stations, an 80's soft rock station & of course country (god I hated that shit with a passion)... and for a few years there was only a country station which lead me into some severe depression ;) Fortunately there was this french station out of Montreal & relayed somewhere so we could hear it. All the talking & some songs were in french, but there was some really good dance mixes late night... friends thought I was weird as hell listening to the french station when I couldn't speak it & it had "weird" music... u know them damn french ppl :)

    the rest is history...

  5. I must admit I like having a few drinks before dancing to take the edge off... then again I'd like a few drinks just about anytime (say, right now) to take the edge off. I used to be extremely self conscious like back in early high school I would rarely dance... and usually only after 15 beers or so :D I guess I cared way too much what other ppl thought of me... now I don't give the slightest fuck... dancing is fun!!

Those long cross-country trips can be tedious, but you do see some amazing sights along the way... thunderstorms over the Great Salt Lake... sunrises and sunsets over vast expanses of seemingly unending plains... villages in places you'd never imagine were habitable...

I'm thinking at some point I'd like to take a couple friends, fly back to California, and make the trip back to NYC in my car, which has been stranded there this past year... good music, good company, and the entire country in front of you... now THAT would be an experience!

    :aright:

Longest drive I ever did - when I was in the army stationed in Ft. Sill, OK... I took a coupla weeks off, drove to San Fran for a week & stayed with a friend.. then all the way down the coast (pacific coast highway?)... absolutely beautiful... went all the way to San Diego, then to Vegas. Then all the way accross the country to Allagash, Maine where I'm from (the southwestern tip of San Diego to my town in Maine is the single longest drive you can make while still taking the shortest route available, ending at dead ends :) ).... then at the end of the vacation drove back to Ft. Sill, OK... ah those young & restless days.

As far as a single drive without stopping (except for gas obviously): Ft Sill, OK to my house in Maine, 2135 miles, 35 hours :)

phunk: I go for drives like that with some frequency... often when I'm stressed out (aka finals) or just need to get out... bump some music & drive away... friends say I'm crazy, I say its cool.

oh.... so I only have to double my posts (roughly) to become old skool b4 tomorrow night.... now that's a definite possibility

thnx joe, and by the way congrats on 8K... all that hard work will pay off someday... :D

I just got a speeding ticket too... and did looked over a bunch of shit on the net... quite a few people have not had points assigned this way apparently (by overpaying, then not cashing the check)... and while ppl who surf the net all day like us may know about it... I don't think "everyone" does... :)

Well that's the way it's down here in philly anyway. The hip hop dj's down here play the same stuff that the radio plays, and they are even sick of it themselves that they can't play more underground hip hop cuz the crowd won't be feelin' it. So all they play is the same shit just mixed and cut up, with all them Fat Man Scoop breaks. IF you'd listen to a dj set about a month ago and then like this week, chances are it wouldn't be that different.

And then they go into their "house sets" LOL that consist of SoHo's "hot music", Cajmere's "Percolater", Hardrive's "Deep Inside" and Aly-us's "Follow Me".

LOFL!!! I was in philly a lil while ago & they played percolater and the crowd was lovin it like it was the new hot song... I was like this shit is sooo old... guess that's the reason I don't go to philly clubs even though its about half the distance for me compared to ny...

but I think its just philly... what little hip hop I've heard in ny is not the same shit that's on the radio
