Crunches don't cut fat -- burning more calories than you eat does. So yes, diet plays a *huge* role.
  2. Anybody have any suggestions for quick 'n easy foods, that are easy to carry around during the day?
  3. I think you're confused. What you're describing is infatuation and lust, not love.

    R U Gay?

You're not answering my questions... do you need me to rephrase them?

    R U Gay?

Why would you want to kick me in the ass? Are you mad at me?

    R U Gay?

I don't get it -- is that supposed to be an insult?

    R U Gay?

    Spread the hate!

    R U Gay?

You say that like it would be an insult if I were gay, which is precisely why I think it's lame.
  9. Yeah, what am I thinking? I should be out having one night stands, saving women from their husbands and boyfriends who they hate so much that they refuse to leave them out of spite!
  10. Tastey can't make up his mind who he wants to pretend to be: a) The suave player who *pretends* to care about women so he can lure them into bed, or... The deep-down softie who wants to save all the pretty ladies from their dissatisfaction -- no better medicine for the soul than a deep dicking, right? Either way, he thinks he's God's gift to women. To bad he can't get any women to agree with him!
  11. You can also vary sets, reps, tempo, exercise order, frequency, etc. etc...
  12. No no, I know you'd never recommend 5 billion exercises, but that's what I see a lot of beginners doing -- "Oh, today's arms day, so I'm gonna do preachers, and concentration curls, and dumbbell curls, and upside-down-and-sideways cable curls, and..." It's pointless and probably does them more harm than good. I agree that a progression is needed: short full-body workout --> upper/lower split --> more advanced splits. And I'm glad to see somebody else knows about glycogen depletion. So many people do hard cardio before lifting without realizing that they'd be better off the other way around...
  13. Really? I think it would be safer to use the dumbbells, because if you lose control you can drop them to the ground. If you lose control of a barbell, it's stuck on your chest until someone comes to get it off you!
  14. I think beginners and intermediate lifters should be doing more than 1-2 bodyparts per workout. Otherwise they're likely to overtrain by doing 5 billion exercises per bodypart. When you get more advanced, that's when split routines become more important.
  15. Losing weight isn't the same as eating healthy. You can lose weight while eating junk food, but you're still eating junk food. I never realized cottage cheese had so much sodium, but I'm not really worried about it as long as my doc continues to say I'm healthy...
  16. How many protein shakes do you have a day? You'd need to have quite a few to reach 1g per pound of bodyweight, wouldn't you? Or do you eat other high-protein foods, too?
  17. Okay, so what DO you eat? linabina: Unfortunately, I spend most of the day at work, so a lot of around-the-house type foods are a bit harder to manage. Some of the things you mentioned are definitely manageable, though!
  18. Very important question: What do you do for high-protein foods throughout the day? One food I'd recommend is cottage cheese, because it's easy to transport and very high in protein!
  19. I think that is the standard definition of circuit training -- moving between bodyparts with minimal rest in between.

Nope, I just feel like if I'm going to be training, I should be as informed as possible.
  21. I've never been used for dinner. Not once. Never. I never put myself in a situation where I can be used like that. I don't want to be with a woman who dresses like a bum, but I also don't want to be with a woman who won't present me to her friends if I'm wearing slacks and a t-shirt. I'm getting the impression that what you consider "looking good" is completely unrealistic and has everything to do with money! For someone who's obviously having trouble with women, you sound unduly sure of yourself and critical of the suggestions that are being made. You might want to consider that before you tell us that we have the wrong mentality...

Because abs are a muscle just like any other and therefore require time to heal and overcompensate before you train them again.
  23. How about this... don't do YOURSELF up so much... don't give out an aura of having lots of money... then maybe you'll find a girl who's interested in YOU, and not just your ability to buy her dinner!
