  1. One difference is the amount of protein concentrate versus protein isolate. Isolate is about 10% more efficient, but costs twice as much. It's not worth it.
  2. Yeah, it was supposed to be a casual thing, and turned into a drawn-out nightmare of a relationship. I'm sure plenty of people can relate.
  3. I had a girlfriend who claimed the same thing. She turned out to be insane. So there.
  4. Nope, just sugar-free, unless you get caffeine-free, which is different.
  5. You can get 11 pounds of whey protein for $42+shipping here: http://www.supplementdirect.com/?content=52&product_id=10805&PHPSESSID=e52bb5cf00d1e37cd574d845c4127511 I just ordered mine so I can't comment much on it, but I hear it mixes easily and has a relatively neutral taste so you can mix it with many different things.
  6. Caffeine is an appetite suppressant.
  7. Are you able to lose weight with that calorie amount? Generally you want to aim for about 12-14x your bodyweight for weight loss (1-2 pounds a week)... so you would want to eat about 2700-3200 calories a day. If you aim for 2700 a day, you can lose about 16 pounds in 8 weeks with minimal muscle loss, which would be perfect for your goal. I find the best way to control my cravings is to space out my meals. If I eat a small (600 calories or so) meal every 3 hours, my body has a constant energy supply. If I try to space it out any more, my blood sugar crashes between meals and I get VERY hungry, not to mention CRANKY! Speaking of which, time to eat! P.S. A refeeding day once a week will also help control cravings and you'll actually lose weight faster.
  8. How much do you weigh and how many calories a day are you eating?
  9. That's a lot of weight to lose in such a short time. If you aim for only 1-2 pounds a week, you'll be able to preserve more muscle mass, and the fat will stay off easier. Just a suggestion, though -- if this works for you, by all means stick with it.
  10. Would it not be possible to get answers to my questions without having to buy the book?
  11. What the hell is it with people recommending hundreds of sit-ups?
  12. Was he following the same workout the whole time? How long did he follow the workout without NO2 before using it? Was there any rest period in between the with/without phases? Much more information is needed...
  13. How do you know his gains were because of the supplement, and not just because of the different workouts?
  14. My point is that there are many people at the gym who stink, not just Indians. I can see having a problem with people who don't shower, and it's possible that many Indians don't shower as much -- for whatever reason -- but the statement was directed ONLY at Indians, not ALL smelly people, and that's what I have a problem with.
  15. Wow... you must be mad to call me all those names. You made an ethnic comment and I called you on it. Sorry, there's no two ways about it. If SMELLY PEOPLE bother you, then say that SMELLY PEOPLE bother you. No need to pin it on their ethnicity... that's seriously uncool. Just because a few black people at my gym stink, doesn't mean I'm going to say black people bother me... you see my point?
  16. That has to be the most ignorant and PREJUDICED thing I've read in this forum so far (except maybe what bullseye just wrote). I have many Indian/Bangladeshi friends, and they don't smell any worse than white people. For that matter, the worst smelling guy at my gym is black, not Indian... does that mean I should petition management to keep black people out of the gym?
  17. Umm... you didn't say "smelly people", you said Indians, in bold letters. Now you're saying that's not a prejudiced statement?
  18. C'mon people... when will you learn... you can't get thin just from a supplement! CALORIES IN. CALORIES OUT. CALORIES IN. CALORIES OUT. CALORIES IN. CALORIES OUT. CALORIES IN. CALORIES OUT. CALORIES IN. CALORIES OUT. CALORIES IN. CALORIES OUT. CALORIES IN. CALORIES OUT. CALORIES IN. CALORIES OUT. This is your mantra. Learn it. Love it... because there is NO OTHER WAY to lose fat!
  19. I don't see how you could disown someone you love just because she made a lifestyle choice you disagree with. If anything, you'd want to help/discourage her, and disowning is probably the last thing that could be considered helpful.
