  1. They are lookin to get laid and not by the "be yourself" crowd but the bottles guys. Go to Marquee, Duvet, B.E.D. terrace. Have fun and bring condoms.
  2. i'd say its a pretty good list. Surprised deep dish is up there, but hey...its still rather accurate.
  3. I thought the opener dragged a little bit. There was this one point where it sounded like he played this 4 beat loop for like 10 minutes. Ugh. He got much better between 12:15-1:00am Diggers opened and I thought he slowed it down. Both Sasha and Digweed played slow opening sets. It didnt really get going until maybe 3:00am. Between 3-5am was some of the greatest music I've heard in a long time, but then they both slowed it down between 5-6:30am... By this time, the music was low energy and I was friggin tired...so we all left at 6:30am. I thought the night was too inconsistent musically. Oh well...they are still may favorite dj's.
  4. If you want an artist/musicians/bohemian type of neighborhood.... Williamsburg, Brooklyn
  5. I was goin'...but not anymore. I'm not going to get vip just to avoid the 18+ crowd. Rather just go to a 21+ club.
  6. Hey there fuckface. Tell me where on the site I can see the start and end time of this event. It aint my problem that its not shown on the front page like any other event should. So before you respond like a moron, why don't u either a) go back to jerking off and not bother responding respond to the question at hand that provides actual information
  7. Sasha Digweed Nick Warren James Holden Anthony Pappa
  8. So wait...is everyone playing a 15 min set or something?
  9. I used to think so too. But not anymore. It's not just about the DJ. Yeah sure, the DJ is the reason I even consider going to a particular club. It sparks the interest. And a GREAT DJ can overcome most things. But a shitty vibe and environment created by shitty staff can ruin the night, regardless of the DJ. Crobar had is right, they stumbled a bit recently but they seem to be getting back together again. I stopped going to Crobar a few months ago because the staff suddenly started copping an attitude. But when I went a few weeks ago, the staff was back to being their friendly selves. So I consider the few months in between to be a "fluke" and not the norm. I'll probably hit a few of the parties in March. We'll see then.
  10. Last year was absolutely madness. No room to dance or even move around until about 5am.
  11. Whoa...chill out. First of all "so much hate .. for no reason .. just because its new" is bullshit. I have reasons and it has nothing to do with whether it is new or not. The best way for me to explain it is to use this analogy: A GREAT chef opens up this new restaurant. You've tried the food of this chef many times and you really like it. You go to the restaurant and you realize that the service really fucking sucks. I mean, you made a reservation and you were forced to wait 3 hours. You end up eating dinner at 11pm but only after giving the concierge a $100 just so you can get your seat...that you have reservations for. Then, when you order food..it doesn't arrive for another hour. All of this on your birthday with friends who came to visit you from out of town. Sure, I like the food. But I'm not going back to the restaurant. There are plenty of other places to find good food. Choices are abundant. I'M the customer of a club...not the other way around. I'm spending money and they provide me with a service. If I spend money and I get nothing in return for it, why would I go back and spend it there again? So back up and check yourself. Pacha has a lot of learn. NYC is full of clubs that provide good music. Just because you're new doesn't mean you can shit on everyone that makes a place successful. Without us, the club is nothing. Now...after some time, if I start hearing some better stories of the place...maybe I'll give it a shot. But for now, I'm not going to be the one to risk having a bad night on a place that isn't being reviewed very well AND having experience first hand a very bad night.
  12. You guys are funny. yur arguing about Pacha with a guy named "diddyscity". He's just a moron promoter who's pushing "diddysclub". Pacha sucks and the staff is completely rude and obnoxious. So I don't care who they bring in to spin.
  13. well..looks like he didn't know what he was doin'. He prolly looked up some 1998 guide to clubbin' and found some weird spots or checked GQ magazine to give him hints. mebbe thats how they club in the west coast? who knows.
  14. lol! he went to chinaclub lookin for asians. hahaha. Then he went back to the same club he thought wasn't that good the first time around. smart. you're right. NYC clubs suck. Now go back to SF and never come back.
  15. It's not all about the music at Pacha. It's about money grubbing asshole bouncers and door people who scam ppl in line for money then screw them when they are about to get in. That is a shadiest shit I've ever seen. fuck em. I got better things to do when I go out than deal with garbage security and door ppl.
  16. Sasha's residency is not monthly. I think it's 3 shows this year, all every other month, ending in June. Most DJ's head to Europe for the summer. Sasha is lately funkier and lighter than digweed. He has a lot more funk in his sets than the driving melodic prog house he used to spin a few years ago.
  17. I would recommend everyone check out the space. It's very unpretentious and laid back. Go with an open mind and with an attitude to have fun. It's a small venue so the vibe in there can be pretty good. Their house parties could use the support. It's not easy packing a place with househeads these days. If you support the music, support the venues that are taking a chance by bringing it to you. They've had some great talent in the past and probably looking to book more talent in the future.
  18. go check out the space tonight. It's a good place. Ask for Eddie to talk about the open turntables. The dates have changed since their grand opening and the format might have changed as well. It's best to go in person to ask anyways.
  19. It's open turntables. Just show up with needles and records and sign yourself up.
  20. All this talk about vinyl sounding "clearer" or "better" than CD is really bs. CD's and ultimately digital formats can massively exceed the range of vinyl. It's simple physics. What people hear about vinyl is that they say it sounds "warmer" because it has the scratchiness to it. Something that isn't as crisp and clear as a CD or digital format. This warmer sound makes it sound homemade...so its a matter of do you like home cooked food or a gourmet restaurant? It's all about taste. But in the end, if you care that a dj is playing vinyl vs a CD and spend time trying to figure out which format they are playing, then...well, you are a very very very small minority and I would almost suggest you do something else in the club...like dance, drink or talk to someone.
  21. nobody in SF calls SF "frisco". sure giveaway that you're a tourist
