  1. lol lola did a GREAT JOB opening up brian (exacta) did a GREAT JOB being the headliner blackstone did an OK JOB. I will most DEFINITLY hear him again. He seems like a friendly guy, and lets not crucify him, cause he did not spin anywhere near what rayray is tryin to make it seem like. lets not get caught up in the "genre" game. to me their are 3 kind of djs. Bad, Good, and Great. Rayray, not ONE bad dj spun @ pacha last saturday. they were all good/great djs. Brian plays house music, stop trying to put a name on it.(ray this isnt aimed at you) I hate ppl that just stand on the dancefloor, TAKE UP MY DANCING SPACE, just to write down a tracklisting of what he played and what he didnt and go hide behind a computer monitor and bash a djs style. this is an art form. would you do that to someone whos that passionate about something. YOU GO TO A CLUB TO DANCE. kieth played some nice toons, that were 4 months old (THAT DOES NOT MAKE THEM OLD) and i was still jammin away in the booth. I have to bring an example of what happens sometimes when you wanna push *NEW* music. Steve Lawler's last EM last year, he decided to play mainly unsigned/unreleased music. Stuff that nobody heard and nobody had @ the time/and some ppl STILL dont have. WORST EM he has ever done. just cause you play music that nobody has doesnt make it any good. I actually can respect a dj that can make me dance even with the fact that I have lets go over the top, and say I HAVE ALL HIS MUSIC. that means his programming, mixing are all on top of its game and he doesnt need *secret* records. I think Roger sanchez/Morillo are good examples of that kind of dj. ray dont be so critical dude. it will prevent you from having a good time, which is the soul reason I GO OUT!
  2. I think your being a lil to hard on kieth. he had a few hickups, but oh well he kept it going and i think he did an ok job. he didnt knock my socks off, but im sure ppl their liked him. learn not to be so critical about a djs performance because he plays a genre. with tribal, their is a right way and a wrong way to do it. too much "jesse garcia" sounding productions will make a dull night. but if done right, its a good time. their are still some gems out their that havent been picked up by tribal djs.
  3. been sayin it. watch out for exacta. he produces/remixes/djs and does them all VERY well. japan and UK in the next 2 months, that says alot of what hes doin in the world of EDM
  4. brian did his THING!!! LOLA was a great opener. awsome night that ended on 28th street around 6-7
  5. hes very excited about this party, and he will knock your socks off believe that!
  6. why cant ppl do calderone on friday and terranova on saturday??
  7. its the owners (bruce harris) bday, so it will be mobbed. plus calderone in a small room like tavern wont happen often. place should be jammed and the music should be all tribalistic bombs
  8. in a boxing match? interestinggggggggggg. they both play to packed clubs...they are way to busy counting the money from their nights to give a shit about the other. boris djs jonathan djs..but i think his G5 has alot to do with that. at least jp produces so its down to a fistpump and a toin coss if ya ask me. i will think about it as i go to ihop tomorrow morning. god bless america
  9. Spread the word!!! Brian has had his hands full with his new label, COMPULSIVE MUSIC (www.compulsivemusic.com). I will be posting his gig lineup as soon as things are finalyzed, and also I will try to get a promo mix for you guys. Brian is a GREAT dj, and a GREAT producer. Hard to find both in one person, but hes worked VERY VERY hard to get where hes at, and has had some ups and downs, but WATCH OUT! He recently recorded his set for JOHN DIGWEEDS kiss 100 FM show, along with a mix for TOM NOVYs radio show, and a mix for the BBC. NY has been long abused by GENERIC tribal drums, and is tired of the abuse of the PIONEER EFX machine on EVERY track. Exacta plays upfront house music and a style that nobody in nyc has. He has not been djin for 2 years! He actually has been djin in NYC for 12 years. He started djin Hiphop like many house legends did (AVH, Paul Oakenfold, Fatboy Slim) and playin house is where his heart is. Then he goes on to produce and remix tracks for SUBLIMINAL & *69. Hes played in UK, IBIZA, EASTERN EUROPE, MIAMI and WEST COAST. Beats Inside You ("This track gets me excited for the weekend"-Steve Lawler) Flippin Shake My Soul Forca Pride (on the new subliminal Sessions compilation) Steam Remix Keep the Faith Remix Love You Some More Remix Stuck On Your Love Set Me Free You Keep Calling Me Do What I Wanna Do And a secret track that will really put him on the house map for long long time to come. I hope everyone can really come out for his NEXT pacha gig (soon) and enjoy the FRESHEST thing to hit NYC in years. Great guy and his dedication to his craft is really amazing, and he gives everything when he plays. COMPULSIVE!
  10. sol party brings some pretty good djs. serge, tkc, peter bailey, and local guys. from what i hear its quite a succesful party
  11. SEXY DIRTY UPFRONT house music. its hard to find..but make it to the next exacta party.
  12. OOOOOOOO the love for my great friend Brian has finally come. In the booth and on the floor the entire night. and i was blown away. Some great EXCLUSIVE bombs. AVH played a great commercial set. great build ups and all but it was extremely outdated. plus he only spun for lil under 2 hours. exacta djed for 6 1/2 hours. so it was most likely you were hearing exacta rather than AVH. i know that massive bassline piano strings..its rough and HOUSE to the max. lets just say that its hopin to come out soon. Exacta has been settin his eye out on Europe and has been at it constantly with his Compulsivemusic digital label. I have been sayin exacta is the best HOUSE dj in ny for years...and now its stickin to peoples head. It was nothin short of amazing. Right up their with the big names. Djin in England, Slovenia, Ibiza, and the world next year. Friday he will be out in the hamptons, and then off to Europe. New Yorker better catch on cause he WILL be the name people will think of when they think of GREAT house music djs.
  13. heard about it just a few hours...theo told me some big big names he called to come down this summer at amber...this is just the beginning for what i hope is a very successful summer for mr. theo because he is the nicest guy in the industry in my books
  14. exacta will outshine this guy. heard he played rock n roll last time and his opener blew him out of the water. exacta will do a better job im sure.
  15. it was the richie santana party that was moved upstairs...and the ALL asian hip hop party took over the main floor....i dont think richie santana knew about it cause it wasnt promoted that way.
  16. hamptons is nyc on vacation someone said that his management was trying to book him at tavern. that would be the only spot i could really see him...although his vocals anthems would go good at neptunes..but his crowd would not be welcomed
  17. Boris plays to his crowd, and gives his crowd exactly what they want to hear, and feel. Comparing two djs are stupid, each dj has a unique character, unique style of thinking, programming, mixing, etc. I am not part of the boris crowd, but will not deny that he has played some quality sets in the past. Just cause im not one particularly in his click of fans, I wont deny a good set when i hear it. Alot of people dont want to see Boris at the top of NYC house, well thats their own agenda, but he is a solid dj. He is not great, but he certainly is not what many people label him on this message board. And boris should get out of ny more often....its great hes going to ibiza..but dont forget that august is the islands dead month..(the last two weeks the island is half full) and many people in europe have NO clue who he is.
  18. reading these 3 pages have almost made me go blind. sander is widely respected and admired by djs all across the EDM spektrum...something few djs can say. his track fruit was a commercial track...but everyone was jammin to it when it came out...so stop acting like everyone is a musical genious and take their thumb out their ass. hes a quality dj, his cds are always good, and his parties in europe are top notch, and his crobar residency is one of the longest ones they got going over their. love how people criticize, but even if ppl had his cd books, he would shit on many people here that claim to be djs.
  19. Paulo Mojo James Talk or Tiefschwartz King Unique Steve Lawler Danny Howells
  20. picnic/bbq in manhattan with some friends. NO HOUSE music whatsoever. only marathon thats gonna be goin down is in the bedroom...and im paul oakenfold LOL
  21. war stories..sure but wont go on a message board to release them. I have 5 of my mates that are really close to the lawler harlem camp, and they havent treated them so nice in the past. dicked them with the label, money, events, so on and so forth. no specifics are needed. ill be their for the music because i still believe he is an incredible dj...but thats pretty much all hes got left
  22. yea i prefer exacta over cevin fisher too..but both have been gettin ready for this night for a long time.
