  1. Ends this weekend, so turn your clocks back 1 hour this Sunday (Saturday night) 2 am... Does anyone know if any (or all) clubs will be open for an extra hour as a result?
  2. If you've been using d2k.dedserver.org, it looks like that link is dead. Find it now at http://www.djmixes2k.com Get sets by PVD and AVB while you can! Dammit, why did PVD spin better in that set (on Aug 16) than when I was there 2 weeks later?! (btw, Roxy needs a Megatron like Amnesia has) The set by DJ Astrid is also quite nice. Although not on that site... is anyone interested in PVD's show on Fritz that aired yesterday?
  3. Did anyone see the CBS morning news this morning (or if you're a nerd like me, did you tape it?) ? DaVe was on again - they showed a few seconds more of his interview that aired last week. This time they were talking about how to get into clubs, and like how one person offered to pay $5000 to be let in. They showed Centro-Fly, but I've never seen anyone over 21 get turned away there. Basically the advice offered was either: 1. know the promoters, 2. come with ladies So where are these selective clubs, and is it worth going to extreme lengths to get into any of them?
  4. I believe Jimmy Van M is opening The flyer mentions his name.
  5. As far as we could tell, around 8 pm, it was just me, DaVe, grace, and a few of the NightclubVIP crew there. And the CP signs. Where was everyone else? Y'all better come or else there's meetups just aren't gonna happen!
  6. (original stuff edited out) Oh man, I thought this broadcast was on Friday, cuz that's when the Marco V In Charge event was happening. I was at home recovering from Tiesto at Roxy on Friday, and was up during most of the time on Saturday, but missed both Tiesto @ Club Space and this thing here. Anyways, he was featured on the Essential Mix on Saturday night. The set will be archived on the Radio1 for this week. Check it out at http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/dance/essentialmix/ Does anyone know if this set was from this event? There's also a set of his from Glow in DC - http://www.clubglow.com (check the Audio section) Keep checking the ID-T site, cuz I'm sure there will be more chances to hear him there. Come to NY in December, for Ferry Corsten at Roxy on Dec 27, then Marco V at Arc on Dec 28! I've also heard rumors of Tiesto being in town for New Year's Eve.
  7. Are you talking about "In Search of Sunrise 3", which was released in July? Or has anyone heard of him working on putting a newer CD out? He played many of the tracks on ISOS 3, though with a different remix for some. Also check out his set at Club Space (in Miami) in August, and the track listing for that. You can find that on trance*********** He also played a classic: Gouryella - Gouryella And his own stuff: Lethal Industry, Flight 643 I believe he also played a remix of Age of Love I think that will cover 75% of what he played, but I could be wrong. (I had to leave at 6:30 am, so I don't know what was played after that time) As for the order of which track he played and when, someone else will have to answer that. Maybe I could help if there is a recording of it. He played lots of familiar stuff (familiar to me, at least), maybe cuz of all his sets being on KTU, but for some reason I was digging that more than the stuff I hadn't heard before.
  8. Happening tonight, 9-11 pm EST Listen online then (on the live stream), or over the next 7 days (on the Essential Mix archived stream) thereafter at http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1 This set might be from an event that took place last night, called "Marco V In Charge", where it appears that he was spinning the entire night from open to close, similar to TiestoSolo or Armin Only. There's some info at http://www.id-t.com
  9. In NYC on Oct 24 http://idolonfox.msn.com/info/default.htm Anyone interested?
  10. I want to, but I'll have to stop by home, wash up, change, rest and eat a bit, then be somewhere at 8 am, so I'll have to cut out a bit early. If you can't last til 7, then how are you gonna be able to handle PVD, who will til at least 8? Get a good nap before you go!
  11. I believe yesterday (Thursday) was the last day for $40 tix That's when I got mine
  12. Cool. Too bad I might be out of the country when Ferry and Marco and here. Keep the Dutch invasion going and get Johan Gielen! For the DC folks here, didn't Kid Vicious play at Glow? If so, how was he?
  13. Probably Suede. Has anyone been there? Is Vue like that?
  14. I taped it. It is at most 5 minutes long. I don't think I have the means to digitize it. CBS probably wouldn't be happy with that either.
  15. Could've been, but I wasn't there, and I couldn't tell from what I saw. They showed a DJ shot, but I'll need to watch the tape over. They showed what looked like one of the morning show's hosts dancing on one of the platforms, wearing black leather pants
  16. Did anyone see this? They showed Centro-Fly, Vue, and Suede, and talked about how hard it is to get into some of these places. Next week they'll give tips about how to get past "those pesky bouncers" and into those places. There was at most 30 seconds of DaVe; it looks like he was interviewed in Vue
  17. This is something might be of interest to fellow CP'ers, so I'll post it for all to see... DaVe, at the Q Lounge meetup, you said that you (and CP) are gonna be featured on TV, on one of the morning shows. If that is so, then which station, and which show? And when? I think you said Thursday (tomorrow!), but I just want to be sure. Any idea of what time that will be aired?
  18. I went to Shelter for the first time last Saturday. They seriously need more air conditioning on the dance floor! Or is that how they retain the feel of being at the previous venue, the old Vinyl ?
  19. That's way cool I enjoyed seeing him at Eden in Ibiza. Too bad the set was only 1.5 hours, but I guess that's what happens when you also have Mauro Picotto and Marco V (and Signum opening) on the same night. I hope spins longer than that, and more importantly, I hope he has his visa straightened out, unlike the time he was scheduled to be at Exit
  20. What happened to this poster? Anyways, it was a small bunch at the Q Lounge until 10 pm, unless more people came but couldn't find us. Too bad there weren't more because the place is nice. You could watch football and baseball at the same time too. Some of us went to Baktun afterwards for Tronic Treatment.
  21. To get you ready for Friday... in case you missed it when it aired a few weeks ago Download (96.3 MB) http://66.221.39.187/sets/Tiesto_KTU_09292002.mp3 Stream http://66.221.39.187/sets/Tiesto_KTU_09292002.m3u
  22. Yes that was Olivier Berge. The only other time I remember him spinning at Arc was when he was doing the Arcade (the back room) during the first Tribalism night (Victor Calderone's event, which had Lucien Foort as a guest that time) Maybe he's spun in the Arcade on other occassions. Anyways, he was quite good during what I caught of him then, but playing in the big room seemed to bring him to another level.
  23. MP played til 6:30 Remy was quite a treat for those who stayed around afterwards. Lotsa energy. When he finished, people were already asking him when he was coming back.
  24. IMO, There were also great sets that night both before (by Oliver Berge) and after (by DJ Remy, who I heard had torn things up at Twilo on at least one occassion some time way before the shutdown) The club closed at around 8:15 am. During the opening set, I heard numerous screams of "Mauro! Mauro!" even though the guy wasn't in sight. Did some people think that Berge was Picotto? btw, those who don't know what MP looks like can spot him by his green headphones.
  25. Check this out http://www.djtronix.com/djpacsys1.html Some of the packages have headphones and monitors included (in addition to tt's and mixers) You can either buy online, or see ifyou can find those items in the store. I haven't been out to the DJ equipment stores much, but from what I've seen, Canal Hi Fi might be a good place to stop by first. They're pretty good for the pro equipment, at least in terms of selection (I'm not sure about price). There are other stores nearby on Canal St that sell DJ equipment, though not high-end stuff. They might have what you need, so stop by there too. I hope this helps. Let me know how it goes. Remember us when your nephew becomes a superstar DJ
