  1. Danny Howells is touring the US in April, following the Winter Music Conference. Please book him. Danny is one of the best house DJs out there, and is sure to rock the house. The househeads here in town are very grateful to you for booking Roger Sanchez and Erick Morillo. Now, keep it comin', and book Danny.
  2. Haha, do you know the difference between performing live and DJing? A "live" performance in the world of electronic music is what Orbital, Underworld, Junkie XL, the Chemical Brothers, etc. do, where they create the music right in front of you with their gear.
  3. You add that to the bad music, and you have a club to avoid at all costs.
  4. When it comes to the Delano, the product doesn't even approach justifying the prices they get over there. $700/night? Yeah, right. The best hotel in Miami Beach is the Loews, which is a few doors down from the Delano. Even the National, the Delano's next door neighbor, is better. Also, there is a Ritz Carlton a few doors up Collins from the Delano. The Delano is nice, but the reality does not live up to the hype.
  5. During the day, I recommend the Friskyradio party at the Chesterfield Hotel. A couple of my friends are playing it, so that is where I will be. At night I will be at Carl Cox's gig at Crobar.
  6. I guess this past Saturday, following Morillo, was AM's preview. They're opening for real this coming weekend. A couple of my friends, Steve Chipman and Marc Gottlieb, aka Sugar Ant Invasion, will be making the trek up from LA to spin there periodically.
  7. That's excellent news. Between Erick Morillo and Roger Sanchez, Las Vegas got an in-your-face education in house music as it was meant to be heard. Those two are welcome back anytime, and big thank yous to the parties involved with bringing them here. I am very much looking forward to hearing them in Miami for WMC. Morillo and the rest of the Subliminal crew have Space from open to close, which for them is 10pm - noon the next day.
  8. The best club in Las Vegas, by a wide margin, is Ice. Hit them up on a Saturday night.
  9. This was his first ever appearance here, but I pray it wasn't his last.
  10. Erick Morillo was absolutely awesome. He lived up to the hype in every way.
  11. Ra Sushi. Reasonable prices for a sushi joint, young, attractive staff, and tunes from Robert Oleysyck on the weekends.
  12. I just saw the S-Man here in Vegas last weekend at Ice, and he rocked the house, bigtime.
  13. I went to Light once. There will not be a second time. That is one of the worst clubs in Vegas, I think. The door situation alone is enough to get me to not go there. Not only that, they charge exorbinant covers to get into what is a very mediocre room, with bad music to boot. Overall, I think that is a really bad club, and I tell everyone who asks to steer clear of it. The place simply cannot hold a candle to other clubs in town like Ice, Tangerine and Pure. Hopefully the owners will come to their senses when designing their new club at the Mirage.
  14. Sanchez was great last night. Definitely a good night at Ice.
  15. I believe that is the same night as Subliminal at Space with Morillo and Co., and Lawler's Lights Out party at State.
  16. I am taking a redeye out of Vegas on the night of the 21st, on Song Airlines. I land in Ft. Lauderdale around 8:30am local time on the 22nd. I leave Sunday night the 27th out of Ft. Lauderdale, around 9pm. Both flights are nonstop.
  17. Take a look at this: http://www.m3masterlist.com/print.html It's the Masterlist for parties for last year's WMC. You can expect the same number of parties this year. You will be hard pressed to find significant time for rest anywhere in there.
  18. I get into town at about 9am on the 22nd off a redeye from Vegas. Hopefully I will be able to check into my hotel early. After check-in, probably hit Nikki Beach. We'll see what happens though.
  19. Looks like the best Saturday night Ice has booked in February is with their resident, Faarsheed, on the 5th. The rest of those acts, Sandra, BBB and Deep Dish, won't even get me off my couch. Oh, well.
  20. From Las Vegas Business Press: District Attorney Exonerates Krave Nightclub -- Las Vegas LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 19, 2005--The Clark County District Attorney has exonerated Krave Nightclub and its security from any criminal charges related to the Nov. 14, 2004, death of Peter James Lawrence. Late that evening, Lawrence had caused an altercation outside the club and died shortly after being restrained by security, while waiting for police to arrive. Lawrence was seeking out an ex-girlfriend in violation of a court restraining order and a subsequent coroner's autopsy indicated high levels of drugs and alcohol in his system. Said Krave Nightclub owner Sia Amiri, "Detective Barry Jensen contacted us today to say there is insufficient evidence of any wrongdoing by anyone at Krave in the unfortunate death of Mr. Lawrence." Amiri added, "After reviewing information provided to the police, Krave has been exonerated from any criminal charges." Located at the corner of Las Vegas Blvd and Harmon, Krave is the only gay/alternative nightclub located on the Las Vegas Strip.
  21. I haven't seen Joey yet, but I have heard he is quite good.
  22. Still not impressed. The only names on there that will get me across the causaway are Cox and Emerson.
