  1. Ice's website has the Digital Assassins listed to play that night.
  2. A lot of Las Vegas' most powerful people hang out here on a regular basis, and you would be stunned at some of the names who take the stage there sometimes. Also, the food is good.
  3. And what new direction would that be?
  4. Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner. For those who don't know what Masterweb is referring to, hotel giant Starwood purchased the land Ice sits on, as well as all of those shitty apartments surrounding it, and plans to build a W Hotel and resort. All of their moves lately, from raising prices, to charging cover to bottle customers, to making locals pay full cover all the time, doing two seatings for this coming Sunday, etc., all indicate, to me at least, that Ice will be demolished along with those apartments to make way for the W, and that the owners are cashing in now while they still can. I do not know for sure if this is true, that Ice is history, but like I said, their actions lately indicate that.
  5. See guys, that's exactly how I feel. Especially with what masterweb said. I too have been clubbing for a long time, and have done bottle service plenty of times. I also have never heard of making bottle service customers pay cover. If we're unable to get that charge waived, I think that will be a dealbreaker for me, based simply on principle.
  6. A few friends of mine and I are getting a table at Ice for Sunday of Memorial weekend. We're buying two bottles, at a minimum of $300 each depending on what we get. We're also paying a $50 per person service charge, for four people. Throw in the tips, and we're clearing a grand. So far, these charges are agreeable to all parties. However, here is where I got angry: Ice also wants us to pay a $50 per person cover charge to get in. IMO, that's complete bullshit, and I feel that the club is taking advantage of us, and gouging. Since when does a club make its VIPs pay the cover charge? The $1,000+ you're going to make off of us is not enough? I think that Ice's mgmt. has gotten increasingly greedy lately. What do you guys think?
  7. Wow, it's been two years already? I will give credit where credit is due. Congratulations bro.
  8. Bouchon at the Venetian's Venezia tower server breakfast from 7-11. Also, Bellagio's buffet is phenomenal, better than some sit-down restaurants.
  9. I finally saw an ad for La Bete. I was at the MGM last night, and people were handing out a magazine called 944. They had a full page ad in there. Mgmt. may want to consider stepping up the promotion though.
  10. Tickets are available on wantickets.com.
  11. I am pretty sure it's pronounced with the second E being silent.
  12. They're not competing as much as you think. Green Valley Ranch is a hike from the Strip, so there won't be a whole lot of tourists there. On the other hand, GVR is surrounded by hundreds of thousands of Las Vegas residents, so I am sure that's who will be there.
  13. I have also found it a bit odd that there were no ads for it in Citylife or the Las Vegas Weekly this past week. They can feel free to start promoting the place at anytime.
  14. ^^Yes, we need some details of this place. What is the music policy, dress code, etc?
  15. The Capital Grille at the Fashion Show Mall has a great view of the Strip, especially the Wynn. Maggiano's, also in the Fashion Show, also comes with a good view. I would also recommend Viale, in the new Roman Plaza at Caesars Palace. Also, Boa Steakhouse and Sushi Roku, located next to each other on the 3rd floor of the new addition at the Forum Shops.
  16. The party at Green Valley Ranch will be loaded up with locals, which automatically means it will be better.
  17. Speaking of Sander Kleinenberg, he needs to swing by Vegas again sometime.
  18. Third that. I mean, Deep Dish aren't really all that either, but they are much better than Tiesto. I was going to go that night because some of my friends from LA wanted to get a table. We'll see what happens now.
  19. I agree. I laugh at Ice mgmt. for thinking their club is worth that kind of a cover. It's one of the top two or three venues on the west coast, but unfortunately, that isn't saying much. If Ice is worth $75, then what are clubs like Space, Crobar Miami and Avalon Hollywood worth? I mean come on.
  20. This shows that Ice mgmt. does not give one rat's ass if any locals show up. Ice is a great club, but it is definitely not worth a $75 cover, no matter who is spinning.
  21. What is there to debate? Las Vegas is still the minor leagues when it comes to clubs. We're the up and comer, but I really don't think Las Vegas, at this point, can touch cities such as NY and Miami. Las Vegas has a lot of potential, but it has not been realized yet.
  22. The hotels here in Vegas realized a long time ago that people will pay top dollar for hotel rooms. $399 is a lot of money to pay for a hotel room, but people pay it. Bellagio and the Venetian average occupancy in the high 90% range despite regularly charging rates like that, so they must be doing something right.
  23. ^^And don't forget the best club venue in the US, Space.
