  1. I just saw Tommie Sunshine last night at Jet.
  2. Anyone who is still undecided as to what to do on Sunday, I am telling you as someone who was at Sharam's gig on Memorial Day weekend that you cannot go wrong at Jet for Dubfire. It will be a blast.
  3. He's playing San Francisco on Oct 21st, and LA on Oct 28th. Someone please step up and book him.
  4. That gets two thumbs up from me. Steve Lawler is the real deal. Thanks guys.
  5. I know that Friday night Faarsheed is playing, and he is bringing out his buddy from NY, Crobar resident Serge Devant.
  6. Well now that should be fun. Great tunage out at the pool.
  7. What changes did Crobar Chicago make that caused you to no longer like it?
  8. Ice's sound is excellent, but I really can't say it's appreciably better than Jet's. The people in charge of the sound system at Jet are on top of things, and it shows. The sound there is top notch. Both venues have some of the best equipment in the business, with Funktion One at Ice and EAW Avalon at Jet. I don't think EAW Avalon quite gets the respect it deserves in the minds of a lot of the clubbing public.
  9. I'm sorry, was I supposed to keep all opinions positive, even if I feel otherwise? Almost no one I want to see has been announced yet, so I am less than excited. If you feel otherwise that's cool, but so far this is not a big deal to me.
  10. The tickets are a colossal ripoff, at $170 per ticket by the time you get them in your hand. Fuck that.
  11. That would be Crobar. They're moving into a space on Hollywood Blvd. called, I believe, the Fox Theater. Not sure where they're at in the construction, but I do know that they are fully permitted by the city, and that it is a go.
  12. Hey, I think that is as good as the stuff I read, third hand or not. Last week I read in the Circuit that Crobar was off. The next day, I read a press release from their new PR agency talking about how they picked up Crobar Las Vegas as a client. Then today, I read in the Eye on Vegas that it is off due to financing issues. So, surely you can see how one would be confused about the future of the venue...lol.
  13. What's the deal with this? A couple of the newsletters in town have been saying that they have been having difficulty putting together financing, and that the deal is off. I know someone on here said they have a friend who was involved with this.
  14. Too bad. I love Avalon, and think it is far superior to Vanguard. Oh well, I wish Dave the best.
  15. I don't understand the Tommy Lee booking. I guess I kinda understand the Papa Roach booking, although they're not nearly on the same level as the rock bands who played Global Gathering Miami. I know GK just wants to introduce Global Gathering to Las Vegas this year. Hopefully next year they'll do a full blown festival, maybe out at Sam Boyd Stadium. Doing it in conjunction with the Vegas Music Conference might be a great idea.
  16. Faarsheed opening? That will make an already great party even better.
  17. LMFAO, Tao actually ante'd up for Erick Morillo to play there? I know why Jet books house DJs, but I really didn't see Tao ever ponying up for these top jocks to play there, even though they can very easily afford it.
  18. Sharam at Jet was easily one of the best parties I have been to this year. It was awesome.
  19. If great house music is what you're after, Oscar G is spinning at Ice on Saturday night. On Friday night for AH, check out Faarsheed at Empire Ballroom.
  20. Thankfully, flyering is minimal here. I would hate it if going to a club here was like going to a club in LA, where you have to run the gauntlet of street teams when exiting a club.
