  1. Empire Ballroom for their afterhours, Late Night Empire.
  2. I'm stunned that the promoters at Rehab are willing to pay the booking fees to book DJs like Tiesto and maybe Fatboy Slim. Mr. Cook costs a fortune.
  3. Hey, you're welcome. I send all my friends to Late Night Empire who come to town looking for house music. Keep up the good work. Those are some solid lineups you guys have listed over there in the other thread. Thanks for bringing top talent to town, especially Erick Morillo for the second time in three months. Him playing here again so soon is a good sign.
  4. Every club in town will let you in with jeans on.
  5. I don't think they should've been let in simply because they are female and live here. However, if they worked for another club in town, I think that as a professional courtesy, they should be comped admission, or at the very least discounted to like $10 or something. It's not like two cover charges is going to be the make or break revenue stream for Empire Ballroom.
  6. Some solid bookings in May. May 5th: Josh Wink May 15th: Nick Fanciulli Thanks for the bookings; I will be present for both of those.
  7. That Pacha lineup is ridiculous; Luca Ricci and Jaimy are both awesome. Top shelf tribal for sure. Damn I wish we got lineups like that out here on the west coast.
  8. Well, there is one doorman out there who likes to hustle people for tips. For example, my roommate works for Spundae, and upon telling this doorman that, he acted like he was doing us a favor by letting us in. I mean come on now..lol. Thankfully, we were able to get that squared away, but that left a bad taste in our mouths. As far as your friends go, that treatment they received is unfortunate. After showing business cards, they should have been granted admittance gratis. Well, let me rephrase that. They didn't have to be comped, but that would've been the right thing to do. As far as the women's lounge goes, that is for "invited" ladies. As far as an explanation of that, I cannot provide one because I continue to be as baffled as the rest of you as to that policy. Charging an additional $50 on top of the cover charge in order to gain admittance to that lounge is gouging IMO. I hope your friends didn't pay it, and I hope that on subsequent visits to Empire Ballroom, they receive better treatment.
  9. I know a bunch of you went to see him. How was he? I heard a lot of great things about his sets down in Miami, so hopefully he brought it just as well last night.
  10. The hours are around 3am until the party is done. Erick has a gig at his club, Pacha NYC, the night before his gig here, so how late he goes will depend on how tired he is/isn't. Tickets are available on wantickets.com for $30; not sure about the status of a guestlist for this night since it is a special event. When Erick was here back in February, he took the decks a little after 4am, and played until around 9. He had to leave to catch a plane back to NYC for his gig that night at Pacha. Since this time around he is playing on Saturday, and doesn't have a gig to leave for on Sunday, who knows how late he will go. That is also up to the crowd. The crowd started to thin out pretty early last time, which to be be honest was disappointing. Erick plays 12 hour gigs at Pacha NYC, and there is a crowd there the whole time. I'm not saying everyone should stay 12 hours, but let's show Erick that there is a sizable contingent of fans in Las Vegas who appreciate house music at its finest. Yeah, he's getting paid a lot of money to play here, but he didn't have to take this gig because he could get a similar booking fee to play elsewhere. He loves Vegas, now let's show Erick that Vegas loves him.
  11. I haven't been to Seamless, but Late Night Empire is awesome. I would say it's the best party, at any hour, in town right now.
  12. If you haven't been here in awhile, Pure and Tao are must-see venues. Both of them are just ridiculous.
  13. I can't get you a table, but there is a guy on here named vegasrey whom I believe works at Empire Ballroom. He would be the man to talk to. Perhaps I could suggest sending him a PM. Erick's gig at Empire last month was a blast, and this one should be no different.
  14. So if you sell 100 tickets to people under 21 prior to the gig, you will turn anyone under 21 away at the door?
  15. Oh, so people would just buy one drink and stop there? No one argued that the house would be anything other than full. It's not just about having a full house though. It's about having the right crowd.
  16. I was under the impression that Crobar was doing very well in NYC. I want to hear from the person who started this thread the reason why they put this party to 18+. I would think that dampens the potential financial take from the night (despite the higher ticket prices for under 21), seeing as how for every person under 21 that the club lets in, that is one less person of legal drinking age that is in the club purchasing drinks. Add to that all of the people 21 and over that will just skip the party entirely now, as many on this thread have stated, just because it's now gone from what would have been a top shelf club night to something less than that.
  17. The only club out this way that serves food, that I can think of off the top of my head, is Circus Disco in LA. More clubs should do that, definitely. DT till 3 in the afternoon. Amazing.
  18. One word: no. Not sure why you think they would.
  19. Thanks for the laugh of the day. That's awesome.
  20. Bally's rooms are approximately 450 sq ft, which doesn't even put them close to the second biggest rooms on the Strip. The largest are THEhotel, followed by the Venetian, Wynn, Bellagio, (in that order) and on and on.... You'd figure someone who stakes their reputation on this board on being "in the know" would do a little research before making a claim that a hotel like Bally's has the second largest rooms on the Strip. Come on now.
