  1. I swung by rodeo last thurss to see how the palce was doing and I saw 2 crates of records anda coffin w/ te mixer that has the buildt in kaos pad (numark i beleive) wit ha cd controller and 2 1200s. Perhasp they have different gear in there on other nights or have had different gear. More upscale? Oh hell yes. A few of my friends are regular cadillac power hour boozers. I got dragged there once and will never step foot in there again. Packed with assholes, tacky decor, and bad cover bands is a terrible time. Grenn Man Lounge has to be the best of what hoboken offers but it is on the other side of town. I live in the middle so nothing is quite the trek for me. Want to check out a real club in Hoboken? Excalibur holds almost 500 and has a bigger dancefloor than river st. I'm opening there tonite from 9-10:30 and if things go well I hope to make it a regular night. Is it the same as going to centro fly? No, but the music will be good and w/o te highwe bar/cover fees of centro. Excalibur 1000 jefferson st
  2. Could be the dude. Have his willy wonka looked at as well if that hasn't been done. check ur pm sinergy as well.

    Out in the woods

Lil bugs that fly in te air and bite in all the wrong places suck as well
  4. forget about the parking, thats hard to find anywhere. My deal is 5 bucks for a short party in a small room with a terrible sound system for a noname dj. If it was for one of the bands playing there it would be different. They actually play instruments. Good luck tho. I jsut think that maybe 3 bucks is more fair
  5. Um I did mention 2 of the same places you mentioned and they are NOT upscale at all. Wannabe upscale perhaps, but c'mon this is hoboken. High class is not stumbling back ot the train after getting teetotaled at a hoboken spot. I listed places that DJ music. Bar none and Rodeo happen to have turntables as do the rest of the places I mentioned. If there are a few others, then I'd like to know. I try to avoid much of the cheese pick up scene here. Being that this is hoboken they prob aren't gonna play very good music in the first place. upscale? Hoboken? I'm still laughing. It is what has always been and what it will always be.
  6. Lovely thread. It is easy to know what other djs play when the patrons of their clubs report what songs they heard in this forum There are quite a few songs from yesteryear (yester referring to 7-10+ years)that are embraced as warmly today as they were when the wax was new. "Cheesy anthems" don't even have a shelf life of 6 months before the reaction turns sour. I'd rather have the ability to control a crowd with my overall track selection than bore them to death and slavage te dance floor with a well familiar and easy to follow sing-a-long that somebody else wrote. Tis a shame. I like the rest of the dave clarke mix but unfortunately the vocal was kept in there. 3 cheers for predictable songs and easily identifying simplistic lyrics, woohoo
  7. I'm opening for DJ Lady this week at Ecalibur in hoboken and figured I'd go for some self promotion. Excalibur is usually latin gay club but thurs nites are house/trance and mixed. No dresscode, but 21 up please. Nice dance floor and sound/lites. Holds bout 500. I'm playing 9-10:30 and Lady carries it til 3 2 bucks w/ student ID, 4 w/o. Excalibur 1000 Jefferson St Hoboken, NJ Take the path, bus, drive, whatever . Here is the mapquest link. The club is behind Hoboken High's football stadium http://www.mapquest.com/cgi-bin/ia_find?link=btwn%2Ftwn-map_results&random=1064&event=find_search&uid=u3m40bu1mbu1g3te%3Argqzzl5ub&SNVData=3mad3-9.fy%2528at2u67_%2529f82u67%253bah7 -%253d%253a%2528_%253d%253abad672%253d%253d1su672%253d0%2Crb%253b7&country=United+States&address=1000+jefferson+st&city=hoboken&State=nj&Zip=07030&Find+Map=Get+Map
  8. satellite has had it for a while. It's from jark prongo. Sampling two familiar tracks and adding a reactionary vocal sample doesn't do much for me, but it made the floor explode. As a music lover I look for a lil more than just whether a track will get a programmed response.
  9. Hoboken upscale? Hahahaha. Anyhow, um The entire town is a bit of a meat market but barnonr, river st, love sexy, green man lounge, rodeo, liquid lounge, and excalibur regularly have dj'd music. Where is excalibur? It is behind the stadium at 1000 jefferson st. It holds about 500 and is one of the bigger gay clubs in the n. jersey area. Thurs nites are trying to become more mixed. Next week I have the pleasure of opening up for DJ Lady at 9 pm
  10. yo pooh, im in tech hall now. call me if u want some local help x3554
  11. I nominate Saint and Alpha. They put these newjacks to shame [This message has been edited by Randy (edited 10-25-2000).]
  12. No, they are not the new hippies at all. Look at te hhippie generation. The ywere about social issues as well as partying. crashers raver, clubkids.... all they really care is whether they can still party, not what is going on in hte world.
  13. As 1. being late to reply and 2. having a penis I can't expect ot have any hope for a copy. How about a track lsiting a consolation?
  14. John Digweed. Just cuz we only get one hour sets in nyc does not mean that diggers doesn't do parties elsewhere in the country. I've only sen the lineups tho. Somehow I think Sasha could edge him out in person. But then there is always Carl Cox..... bla to 1 hour sets
  15. Vote third party if you can just to show the system you don't like the status quo. I don't want bush to win, but gore is likely to win nj, so I cna vote nader. If u want bush to win and u live in texas, same deal. For relevancy, I really doubt busgh has anything in common with our lifestyes besides the indulgences he particpated in and now refuses us to have hte same privelege
  16. Do not follow any recommendations from nayone on this or any board. Sugesstions to psark some thought, sure, but truly pleasing her and being creative has to come from within. My gf gets bored of everything (including me)evry 4 months or so. The trick is to keep challenging and growing. I adapt a tad better than her projects so I get to stick around It must come from the heart. It must come from the soul. DIY is a plus, but random is good too. don't listen to me, I'm crazy

  21. Be careful. There is a new breed of mobsters out there. Armed with brains and money from technology, these skinny guys are creating quite a stir. Bill Gates ring any bells? Think twice about plowing through pencil necks at the clubs. Better recognize, mofos!
  22. I've got a killer set of ribs It's hard work keeping them in shape
