  1. Don't forget Pure Tuesdays are launching this week. Will probably take a nice bite out of 54 and ghostbar. Also, Sundays @ OPM are two rooms now. Reggae in the back "orchid" room and hip-hop in the main room. It's a busy party, but it's primarily locals and it's OPM's must urban night so a good time if you like that type of vibe...
  2. If you're asking which one is more crazy, Labor day weekend is PACKED, almost as much as Memorial Day. As far as dates between the holidays, I think the MAGIC convention might be between those dates - not sure.
  3. If you want hip-hop, OPM is the spot on Saturdays. http://www.o-pm.com/lv/ for info on the AVN after party this weekend...
  4. Yeah, we're all very proud of the folks at Pure. They had to do some amazing last minute magic tricks to get that place open in time for New Years. I'm just so happy to be a part of the new Forum Shops club district. It's a one-two punch that is sure to keep everyone happy!
  5. Give me a call before you come so I can put you on my guest list. 702-358-6489 and/or email me masterwebfanclub@aol.com OPM's main room is essentially all hip-hop and r&b every night Thu-Sun. Since it gets so busy they now open the "orchid room" with the same music feed on Fridays and Saturdays. On Thursdays and Sundays we now put an ALL reggae (dancehall) dj in the orchid room. Hope that helps. Also just so you know, the ONLY all hip-hop parties in Vegas are... Ra Thursdays. SRO (don't go there unless you want to get shot) and OPM Thursdays through Sundays. Ice just cancelled their hip-hop night and I'm not sure what's going on at Vibe in the Alladin but I hear it's not working out. I don't believe there are any other clubs that stick to that format exclusively.
  6. Every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.
  7. Lmack, I'm really sorry to hear about your experiences. If you were 15th in line at OPM then that would mean you came before midnight on Jan 1. Let me just say this. It's better that you came so early. After you left, we had over 2500 to 3000 MORE people show up NO EXAGGERATION and the mall had to call in Metro out of fear of a riot breaking out - luckily no violence occured by the way. The club was at capacity by 11:30pm. They had to essentially close the doors at 12:15 and just let bottle customers and a few local ladies in. Nobody wanted to leave, so the one in one out rule didn't work too well either. Apparently we were by far the biggest draw in town every night Thursday Friday Saturday and Sunday. Next time you're in Vegas, please contact me directly at 702-358-6489 and I'll get you a comped table and bottle on me. DJ MasterWeb
  8. Well you need to give us more information, like what you look for in a club, the type of crowd and type of music you prefer. As a general rule, the hot spots are Pure, Body English, Tangerine, OPM, Ice and Foundation Room. Each spot has its own Niche. Pure JUST opened and is HUGE. I'm sure it will be packed every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday for a long time. Body English has been hot since day one and has a great looking crowd and an L.A. mash up sound. Always a party Friday Saturday and Sunday. Tangerine is new AND just expanded. Big Wednesday and weekend party spot. OPM (where I DJ) is really the only true hip-hop, reggae and RnB club in town. Always a slam packed party Thursday Friday Saturday and Sunday. Ice has the lock on Saturdays for the electronic music scene. Foundation room has a lock on Mondays. Hope that helps
  9. You'll be fine in jeans, collar shirt and shoes. As long as you aren't wearing tennis sneakers, a baseball cap or a t-shirt, you'll be fine.
  10. I believe OPM is the only "all hip-hop" event this NYE (8pm to 4am). Jadakiss will be performing as well at OPM. Info is at www.o-pm.com/lv/
  11. From what I understand it's Tony Verdugo & Gino LoPinto. I also believe their fathers are involved, so that could be Victor maybe? Regardless I know these guys are completely committed to bringing the best afterparty to town. I also know they have the support of several important people in town and they have a good local dj lineup. As far as International acts, I'm not even sure bringing in huge name djs is an appropriate move for an intimate exclusive party like this, but maybe it is. We'll just have to wait and see. But what I do know is that if this party attracts a beautiful crowd, and supports the electronic music scene, it should be embraced. The party is on every Friday and Saturday after the 10pm to 4am hip-hop party at OPM. So the crowd will completely turn over around 4am and I believe the parties are set to end around 8am but that is not set in stone.
  12. ... will be very hard to get into. All the tables are already sold out (I believe) and Gino and Tony are going to be EXTREMELY strict at the door. And I can tell you right now, if you're not partying with female guests, don't even waste your time trying to get into OPM after 3am unless you are on the invitation list. This site was just launched... http://www.amlasvegas.com/
  13. If you have the cash, go with bottle service in Vegas. That rule applies across all the hot spots. Otherwise you fall into the category of "ballas on a budget" Just kidding. Seriously though, on a busy weekend, tables are a must if they can be afforded because you will find that no place sucks if you follow the advice of people who know the scene like they do on this message area and napkin nights.
  14. The two reputable hip-hop spots in Vegas are RA THURSDAYS and OPM every night (Thursday through Sunday). I would suggest hitting up Ra the 30th and OPM on the 1st. Mr. Vegas is a good hookup for Ra. Go to www.FreeVegasClubs.com and sign up for OPM. Also you can always call OPM's office at 702-369-4998 to get on the invitation list if you are willing to come before 11pm. Unlike other spots, OPM is crackin even that early on Saturdays.
  15. This was Tracy's quote on NapkinNight's pics page... "Good lord, this place was packed like it was summer. Definitely a Sat. night hott spot!!!" NapkinNights showed up really early too -- about 12:30 I think. The pic below represented a half of one room, with a line of people just trying to get up the stairs, while outside there was a two hour wait to get in for general admission, and a completely chaotic mob scene in front of the v.i.p. entry. OPM is absolutely on fire right now!! Thanks to all for allowing us to bring the only true hip-hop / reggae party in Vegas. Please follow my advice. Get there BEFORE midnight or you will have trouble getting right in.
  16. That should be the interesting part. I know that usually around 4am we try to play slow jamz, r&b and sexy music. Once in a while, around 4:30am or 5:00am we speed it up again, with Earth Wind and Fire or even house and tribal and stuff like that. A lot of people enjoy it because it is a TOTAL change of pace from the rest of the night. When the after party launches, a strategy like that should kick it off pretty nicely -- When we use that type of music strategy, the remaining crowd is pretty compatible with the type of crowd Verdugo will bring.
  17. Tonight was absolutely nuts. Thanks for all who came out and supported. I don't think I've ever seen a more packed night at OPM. It's growing so fast. Tracy from NapkinNights was there. I hope she got some great pics. I'll post the link when she puts them online!!
  18. I can already tell by the crazy guest list that tonight will be another unbelievably busy night at OPM. I know there has been some heated discussions lately. To anyone in town, I invite you to check it out and judge for yourself. Remember, it's a week before Christmas and the town is totally dead. However, you will see more people at OPM tonight than any other club on the strip. Note that it is a hip-hop, reggae and r&b party so if you need electronic, Ice is the spot. Party time!!
  19. Hands down. THE MANSIONS at mgm. Go there and you'll never go anywhere else again. DJ MasterWeb djmasterweb@aol.com http://profiles.myspace.com/users/12893653
  20. Don't let the bickering on this message board change your image of Vegas. These situations are an unfortunate side effect of Internet message boards in general because emotions fly high and attacks can be made in a cowardly manner. I think we're going to see an end to the arguments anyway since Bill Le seems like a great guy and these other people made their points and enough is enough. The actual club scene is wicked peaceful and friendly in this town. Despite the hype, there's very little anger or violence at any spot and people just come out here to have fun. The locals are the same way. They love the clubs out here and just go out to mingle, dance and drink very heavily Bill Le, I appreciate your response and don't worry. If you don't like a spot for whatever then that's your perogative of course. And people respect your opinion because you seem to do your homework. If you need anything holla at me. I've been in this business for a long time, just not in Vegas, but I really enjoy the work and if you think this message board is bad, you should have experienced the intense competition of NY in the early 90s when techno first went mainstream. That got so ugly it would make the show "the club" look like the Sesame Street of club drama haha. Anyway, let's enjoy ourselves. Nothing but respect.. DJ MasterWeb djmasterweb@aol.com
  21. OMG, the bickering. I am one of a few djs that work at OPM and I don't know how all this craziness went down. I don't know Bill Le personally however he is very well respected as a nightclub host around town. People call him up to skip the lines at the popular spots, and they get set up with great bottle service, etc. I have a few supporters that somehow got involved with online drama on a few boards and I think it has gotten a bit out of control. It all started with a misunderstanding with another local dj that has since been resolved months ago. Everything is fine and has been for some time. We need to stop the fighting. Bill Le should be able to work his magic without discredit. If he doesn't like the spot where I work that's fine. I'm sure most of his clients are not into the hip-hop scene anyway and if they are, hopefully this message board madness won't turn them off from including us in their visit list. Anyway I will be monitoring this board and will ask Brandy and Dale to knock it off. Respect.. DJ MasterWeb djmasterweb@aol.com
