As a general rule, jeans are ok if they are not too baggy, not ripped and not covered with logos. Also, wear a collared shirt and nice shoes, no tennis sneakers. If for some reason you do get turned away on dress code, discretely slip the bouncer a $20 and without any attitude, say you left your nice clothes at home and you are embarrased, any chance of looking the other way?

That would be awesome if you both come through. And this weekend won't be that busy in town (I don't think spring break really kicks off until next week, not sure) but OPM will still be off the hook on Saturday. And plan to get wasted

Teatro is a nice after party on Tuesday. But I heard it was not hopping a couple Saturdays ago so my instinct is that Tuesdays and probably Thursdays are the nights to go since Studio/Tabu promote those nights. I'm sure someone else can give more direct insight.

LOL, trust me. I have converted a lot of people who have been nervous about coming to OPM for whatever reason. Either stigma or some poor reviews from earlier last year or other newer club options, etc. However I put my word and name on it, I will make sure you have a great time on Saturday.

That's an awesome post about your experience. I'm just dissapointed that you didn't check us out at OPM. We had a huge turnout every night including Sunday. Next trip it would be awesome if you gave OPM a shot too

The established Latin nights are Thursdays at Club Rio and Sundays at Bikinis -- personally I think you should stick with Rio if you're in town on a Thursday. I don't believe there are any big Latin parties on Saturdays, but I can tell you for a FACT that you will find more Latin babes at OPM than B.E. or Tangerine. However most of the people who read ClubPlanet and N.N. will tell you to go to B.E., Ice, or Pure on Saturdays. These message boards don't really attract the people who are into straight Hip-Hop, Reggae and R&B.

Which clubs? What type of music, crowd, vibe etc.

I went to AM @ about 5:45 last Saturday night and there were 8 people there. I hope they plan to promote that new party or the only run for anything will be running back to Drais.

I've been starting to hear more industry buzz lately. It may be worth checking out.

Nope, it was about 10 to 1. Bobby Valentino is one of the biggest up and coming r&b artists and girls came out in droves. Besides OPM always brings more ladies then fellas each and every night it is open.

It's funny because on Saturday I was telling you how nice it was to finally have some room to move - and then about 15 minutes later about 1000 more people showed up!!! It was a pleasure to finally meet you!! You're a CLASS ACT. And thanks for the props too, my man. Between Ra Thursdays and OPM Fridays through Sundays, anyone with a passion for hip-hop has a spot to call their own. And for people who want more variety, OPM offers Latin on Wednesdays, and now classic jams on Thursdays. Ra offers Electronic on Wednesdays, Mash-Ups on Fridays and a little of everything on Saturdays

Thank you to everyone who came out to see the Bobby Valentino performance. This was one of our best Fridays ever with a TEN TO ONE girl to guy ratio, something I have never seen before in my years in the club business. OPM was insane tonight. Busiest night in history for the club. Even beat Jan 1 2005 which I thought would be impossible. But the best part was the girl:guy ratio. Usually it's 3 ladies for every 2 guys and I thought the superbowl weekend would mess that up really bad - but we still had more ladies then guys. I heard the other spots were 2:1 guys and some up to 5:1. How were your experiences at the other hot spots tonight (Saturday)?

Body English or Pure for different types of music... Rock, Hip-Hop, House. Both spots are beautiful and hot right now. Ice for Electronic music. Might also want to check out new Club Rubber (Seven). OPM for Hip-Hop, RnB, Reggae... Go before midnight or wait 2+ hours in line.

Mix at Mandalay Bay. Tabu at MGM.

I wouldn't say a "better" home. I would say a home that is not known for hip-hop until 6am. We had to literally piss off (and in my opinion even disrespect) over 1000 people at 3ish to try to segway into this AM concept and we weren't thrilled when only 20 people showed up for the after party while all our paying customers left with their heads shaking left and right. Gino and Tony are the nicest guys and I wish them only the best. However I hope they do so without upsetting the people who have supported a different scene in the same building. That concept was destined to fail at OPM, known as the #1 hip-hop spot in Vegas. Anyway, that's my 2 cents.

Actually most clubs here in Vegas will let any amount of dudes in if they are in dress code and pay cover. Now that I think of it, Rain encourages huge groups of dudes to show up at once

We take guest list phone requests from 5pm to 9pm and the free VIP entry is only valid from 10pm to 11pm. The problem we are having today is that our phones have been ringing off the hook so we simply have not been able to answer everyone's phone calls so it forwards to voicemail. If you REALLY want a taste of the urban crowd, try SRO on Fridays but bring your bullet proof vest. The only upscale clubs true to hip-hop and the urban crowd in Vegas are Ra Thursdays and OPM Fridays through Sunday. That's the real deal.

Honestly, I don't even know what type of music Rain plays on Fridays but do yourself a favor and take advantage of the better options available to you on Fridays. As far as the hot spot on Fridays: It's a very competitive night and on a regular weekend, Friday is not dominated by any one spot. You can't go wrong at Pure, Body English, or Tangerine... all of which should be pretty busy. Plus RA does a nice mash-up format. Ice does "Thank Glaude Its Friday" for Electronic music fans. And OPM has all hip-hop, RnB and Reggae... And OPM is always busy on Fridays, especially after midnight. OPM's best night right now is Saturday night. It is EXTREMELY packed and very hectic at the door after 11pm. We have actually been hitting full capacity before 11:15 on Saturdays which is just sick. Sunday is dominated by Body English and Light (uggg) for the mainstream crowd. OPM for the urban crowd. Sunday is a more local crowd which makes the Vibe special. Less dumb drunk immature guys and hotter girls (strippers).

I disagree. A friendly conversation with the VIP host and/or GM can get you off the hook.
