  1. Well I wouldn't say it's a scam. He probably will deliver what he advertises. However why would you want to go to Rain or almost any other club that uses free passes to get people to come in. You can probably find free passes to Rain, Bikinis, The Beach and other venues like those. Further, you can walk the strip and go to places around town and receive most of those passes for free. Most have time limitations too. The way I look at it, you should pick the spots you want to go to - don't worry so much about the $20 to get in - consider it the price you're willing to pay to go to the best spots in town. And have the time of your life rather than a dissapointing visit to a place just to save 20 bucks. On the weekends, you simply cannot beat Body English, Pure, Ice (for electronic) and OPM (for hip-hop). You can also call all of those clubs and try to get on the guest list if you're willing to get there early. (Or ask your concierge to do it for you). This way you'll be almost guaranteed a great time without selling yourself short to save a few bucks. Good luck Sanford
  2. I never get sick of that whole movie. I still crack up every time when he asks about KFC!!!
  3. No problem. I would suggest a collared button down shirt, jeans and nice shoes.
  4. Sleeveless shirt at Pure will prolly cost ya about a Benjamin to get past the fashion police...
  5. Ah the love LOL. A good friend of mine, "Chris" was an intern on the show about 5 to 7 years ago and they all made fun of him about never getting laid -- Do you remember any of that - was on radio and TV.
  6. I wish I knew you were bababooey because I wouldn't have given you such a hard time about your sneakers and t-shirt wishes.
  7. Ladies can wear whatever they want as long as they don't look like a dude.
  8. Dude I'm really done with this argument. And trust me, if you show up at OPM in sneakers and a t-shirt, your chances of getting in are about zero percent. So save your time and hit up Ice. They are probably more along the lines of the music you want, and they are looser on the dress code. But heck if you want to spend your time listening to hip-hop and you are charming enough to sweet talk the door people to allow you in out of dress code, then I guess you're on. I'll hook up a few drinks (for both of us)
  9. LaLate: And LaLate is referring to the right clothes, as defined by the door staff, not your view of why you look good by NY standards -- oh and don't bring a receipt - the costs of your t-shirts and sneakers don't change the dress code.
  10. I think I made my points enough times so further argument is a waste of time. If you guys want to wear t-shirts and sneakers, go right ahead. If you think tourist towns should play music that people don't yet know, then keep on complaining about it. This is why you are on this board asking questions, and not part of the Vegas industry that understands the reasons that things are done the way they are done. And heck, you can even invest a couple million and start your own club and do things the way you want them to be done. Have fun.
  11. 1. Tell the thug story to the door people who enforce the rules that you're trying to break. I'm sure they will engage in a nice friendly conversation as you lay it out for them and then they will gladly usher you right in. 2. I never said the whole city of Las Vegas was classy. I said Vegas nightclubs try to uphold standards to attract a well dressed classy crowd because the general belief is that people should not dress the same to Pure as they would to McDonalds. I know this is a tough concept to grasp for some who think sneakers and t-shirts are clubwear. 3. To dirtymike, just curious, where did you go that played "gay 1999 house music" last year? Because Vegas resident djs didn't even play house music last year with the exception of a few spots.
  12. Oh, sorry... just email mw@freevegasclubs.com and I'll hook it up for you. And I'll email you in a few too...
  13. Props on the site. Curious though, why do you go so far out of your way to hide your identity? Even your network solutions whois is protected by privacy registration. All in all an awesome site that will get a lot of respect around these parts. I even used two of your pages to discuss issues with management at OPM - they even quoted one of your pages in the employee meeting -- so props again. And FYI, OPM does not serve food at all (unlike when it first opened) and does not have afterparties anymore - however the regular party still goes until about 6am on the weekends. And Ra is only a hip-hop club on Thursdays. Their other nights are mixed with either rock (Fridays) and dance/house (Saturdays) and all electronic (Wednesdays).
  14. Kimberly, call OPM at 702-369-4998 and ask to be put on the DJ MasterWeb guest list - that will get you in for free and skip the general line as long as you get there by 11pm. Plus you get free champagne until midnight. After midnight, the party goes nuts so get comfortabe before then. If you don't get there by 11pm, you will be charged $20 a person unless you have local nevada ID (and female) ... then it's free all night. The lines are insane after 11pm at OPM so please, I beg you, please get there earlier than that or you will get frustrated.
  15. OPM *always* has more girls than guys Saturdays from 10pm to midnight due to the structure of the drink specials - however it is a very diverse crowd. You can't go wrong at Pure or B.E. either.
  16. ... posted by someone who's never been to Ice, doesn't know any after hours others than Drais, and feels a city sucks because it expects gentlemen to wear more than t-shirts and sneakers. I'll take his insults as a compliment that this town doesn't cater to his tastes. And obviously anybody that feels DJs should only break new music to a tourist crowd has absolutely no idea why Vegas is a mecca that services people from all parts of the world.
  17. Well I guess there's no way you should be battling it out about which city does it better since you apparently don't even know the first thing about the Vegas scene from personal experience anyway.
  18. I don't take it as disrespect, and in many ways NY has a different scene. However I'm not the one complaining about the fact that in Vegas we like to do things with a little more class I guess.
  19. Oh gosh here we go again. It takes a real brain surgeon to equate a city that requires class and effort with a city that needs to catch up with the times. Boston and NY (where I'm from by the way) can only pray their nightlife comes close to the scene that happens in Vegas each and every week. Speaking of Boston/Saugus, there is a reason the location of the "Tantra" stopped doing business a few years back. And a reason the scene in Saugus is so up and down. Because running a scene while allowing people to dress like thugs never works in the long run. And it's not just dressing like thugs. The whole concept of enforcing/ignoring dress code has many consequences which go right over the head of people who think going out to a club and going bowling require the same attention to clothing detail. Also, fyi, "theboy" was not just referring to after hours. He was bragging about how he planned to go to Ice wearing whatever he wanted and sneakers because they would let him in just because he is so good looking and not fat LOL. The other thing to consider is that in Vegas, most people who go to an after hours spot, are coming from a regular hour club. So they would literally have to go out of their way to remove their outfit so that they could "be with the times" and change into something they would wear to McDonalds before they hit the after spot. Regardless, VIPhotlist.com says it perfectly... Follow the dress code If the dress code says no sneakers, don't wear sneakers. And yes, this includes $300 Burberry sneakers and the latest Air Jordans. The hosts at the door won't be impressed by how new, or how retro, or how hip your sneakers are – they'll just tell you they can't let you into the club dressed the way you are. Likewise, be sure to look good. We've seen people take expensive pieces of clothing and wear them in a way that makes it look like they've just rolled out of bed. If your shirt is wrinkled, either iron it or wear a jacket over it. The bottom line is that if you're planning to go to any of the hottest clubs in town, dress like you belong.
  20. I just spent the last hour or so looking at that whole site! Not only is it unbelievably accurate (not perfect, but definitely a big improvement over the usual Vegas website that still advertises passes to Baby's), but it is also HYSTERICAL in certain spots. Definitely read through the site - a great source of facts and entertainment. http://vegas.viphotlist.com/ Who's behind this site??
  21. I'm actually very impressed with most of the reviews. It seems like a very good resource and not biased, which is a refreshing angle.
  22. No matter what, be sure to check out Ra on Thursday. That's the best hip-hop party in Vegas in my opinion. Be sure to check out Warren and Bob do their thing 1am to 3am but get their early so you don't have any hassles. OPM holds it down Fridays and Saturdays all hip-hop with a touch of reggae and R&B. Very diverse crowd and extremely busy both nights, especially Saturday. The new website is at www.o-pm.com Guest list call 702-369-4998 but like Mr Vegas said, you need to get there by 11pm or the guest list won't help you. Pure and Body English are other awesome spots, but neither will give you hip-hop without the mash ups, rock, mainstream top 40 and other non-hip-hop-head friendly music. Sundays are big at Body English, Light and OPM. Hope that helps.
  23. Pure Body English Mix Tangerine Light Tabu
  24. Traffic in and out of L.A. ??? You must have been shocked!!
