  1. been a tough year don't know how many of you remember, but thanks to everyone for keeping me occupied last september, for giving me a forum to vent in, and stuff like that. most of all: thanks to shannon for going through it all with me, for refusing to let me sit in my apartment. peaceful rest to all, and memories for the 12 i lost. pete
  2. how could i! i like to start with an hour of old hill street blues at 12 then gladiators then there's the home building show on TLC that i tend to watch mid afternoon gets a little iffy - but there's usually a good b movie on somewhere
  3. yesterday was the all day marathon warm-up to the finale. if i don't get a job soon my brain will melt
  4. damn..didn't see this before now and i think you all summed it up nicely. sorry to all those that left before it ended cause sven running around was insane and the last tracks were killer i haven't seen shannon that excited in a while either. thanks all my fellow bouncy kids for making it a great night.
  5. hey joe - what you do on your own is your business and i'm the last person to say otherwise. however, do some research before essentially linking usage of illegal substances like pot and e with the substance in question in this case. legallity is bullshit anyway (how many people die or have serious diseases from alcohol compared to pot for example). my point is oxy is some pretty serious shit and i hope that you had done some research / knew about it ahead of time. did you know for example that many oxy users end up being heroin addicts cause when they can't afford oxy or get a new script its the next thing to go to? i don't hear about pot withdrawal leading to this sort of thing. regardless of whether it came from a friend or not, make your own decisions but have them be informed ones. i'm not saying that pot and e aren't powerful drugs...however, its pretty easy to control dosage, hard to od unless your a jackass, and they don't lead to debilitating addictions and withdrawal. are they "bad" for you? sure. so are lots of things. to pretend that what you were doing is as casual as drinking water makes you look naive....forget about the general public - they are uniformed and brainwashed and have been drinking and smoking themselves into heart disease and other problems for decades.
  6. lol...chuck you and i looked at each other like.."wait! i know this kid!" its had been a while great seeing you out pete
  7. i was on my roof watching the whole thing...i had lost my job the day before and had the news on. i live right over the river in brooklyn at the time. saw the 2nd plane, the buildings fall, etc. etc. saw people jumping. the next day i was down at the recovery site helping the firemen and stuff. lost one person on the plane and 10 in the buildings...but over 30 people i know made it out ok...i still won't look at the list of names.
  8. yo...chill out what one ignorant prick says to you in a bar doesn't = nightclub prejudice now - if the made all the people that look a certain way go through a "special" search, or charged them more, or if the dj said some shit like, "all you nigga's get out!" - then you'd have something to talk about
  9. LOL it would be great if they sold a shirt there that said exactly this, including the parentheticals
  10. totally agree without any fancy talk: when i leave crobar my ears hurt and everything sounds fuzzy. doesn't happen when i leave space or arc. granted, arc isn't tuned yet and they could perhaps use more power.
  11. yo joe - live and let live. but this is no more a community of drug users than my old office was. i don't think drugs are what everyone on this board has in common. peace crobra (and tash) - great chillin with you, though i didn't run into you much after 6 or 7 i don't think.
  12. amazing night....go to baktun tonight if you missed them at Arc and hope for the second coming
  13. i'm actually a huge techno head - and not just the big names. breaks as well. like i said i don't hit SF so much these days. mostly i go there for friends, but every once in a while JP still surprises me in a good way.
  14. hmmm...ok - your opinion is that jp plays cheese - that's cool. i'm sure lots of people don't like what you listen too either so whatever. i haven't been going to SF of late, however, i've been in and outta there and the old location for about 8 years now. with the exception of tracks that KTU plays that aren't exclusively KTU cheese tracks (as in songs that got play on lots of stations and by lots of DJs - just that KTU does a cheesier version of it) - i really can't think of many songs that he EVER played that fit your derisive initial description of KTU vocal loops. personally if i ever here his madonna mix again it'll be too soon though. i'm curious as to who you do like to listen to btw
  15. seriously...u just sound ignorant jp does play lots of vocals but not the ones on ktu
  16. there is no security it is a pretty small place, but can get packed...we'll find marci and then you'll find us...
  17. i might actually show up! either way this is bound to be entertaining
  18. you can order food at centro at the bar on the main floor - you don't need to go to the restaurant i remember lavendermenace got a burrito there once at 2:30 in the morning. it was yummy! like really good, but i think pricey (compared to fries and shit) - like 12 bucks maybe? not sure.
  19. you may need to wake me out of my stupor when you arrive. i'll be the guy on the porch surrounded by empties...
  20. its at PS1 in long island city take the 7 or the G or V or any number of buses to Court House Square (the citicorp building stops). its two blocks from there - you can't miss it. doors open at 12 noon i believe, but music and stuff goes from 3 - 9. cost is 6 bucks to get in 3.50 for beers 1 for water there is food too here's all the info you could want: http://newyork.citysearch.com/profile/11528085/
  21. hmmm... we must be on the same wavelength tilly that sounds an awful lot like my weekend!
  22. lol it does sorta sound like it is from the studio i'm thinking blood work at 1:30...clint is usually solid if unspectacular.
  23. well, that's why its good to be outta phase with things...so you don't have all those same associations with things as everyone else....sorta what we were talking about the other night phunk. i feel kinda good that i don't have the same drug / music connections as lots of other people - so i don't associate one with the other so much. i did have that "trance phase" though - and it was partially to trance music. it was when a whole group of friends i hadn't hung out with for 4 or 5 years got into the beatz scene. i had been there all along, but i jumped on their enthusiasm (which is contagious) for about a year. good memories but i had years in at clubs and stuff before that so they aren't even the "good old days" for me...
