  1. I love being involved with the radio. It's money well spent to secure local support. Keeps people reminded of what's crackin' 5 nights a week. Perfect match for our demographic. Helps build artist and label support. If working with radio is somehow a bad thing, I guess we suck at creating lots of room to dance.
  2. Night just ended. Busiest night in the history of the club. If you came, I hope you enjoyed it.
  3. It's worth reiterating that passes don't work holiday weekends or special events.
  4. Don't miss the one and only KIIIIIIIIIIIIIIID CAPRI only at OPM tonight Sunday Jan 1. $30 Cover. It's going to be b-a-n-a-n-a-s, so come by 10pm if you're smart. OPM Nightclub in the Forum Shops @ Caesars. Be there.
  5. Yeah the other day I read about the Sixers winning an awesome sold out double overtime win and in the report they mentioned how a rookie from the bench scored 25 points. Also included in the report was a killer slam dunk and somebody shooting 100 percent from the line. And also read that they were giving away logoed towels to everyone who came in. I guess I could reply, oooh can't believe I missed that game, what a game, they gave away a towel, oooh must have been the greatest game of all time - and I'd come off as an obnoxious sarcastic moron.
  6. As reported in the Circuit: 12.04.05 - OPM reports having enjoyed it's busiest night ever with over 100 bottles sold and a house full of boxers. Jermain Taylor arrived with a face still swollen and cut. Bernard Hopkins had tables reserved but did not show up. Sugar Shane Mosely was the first one into the club, having left the fight early to get there. Antonio Tarver visited and enjoyed 8 bottles of Crystal Champagne with his friends. Also in attendance were boxer Laman Brewster, two-time pro bowler James Hasty, and former San Diego Charger, Natrone "Natrone Bomb" Means, Ed Lover of "Yo MTV Raps", and rapper Yuk Mouth in a chinchilla hat, coat and pants. And in the Review Journal: R. Kelly is hosting a pre-Billboard Music Awards party Monday at OPM nightclub at the Forum Shops at Caesars. Damon Dash has a private party at OPM on Tuesday for all the hip-hop Billboard winners after the show, which will air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Unbeaten middleweight champion Jermain Taylor, arriving with entourage at OPM (Forum Shops at Caesars) after his unan-imous decision over Bernard Hopkins on Saturday at Mandalay Bay. Also there: fellow boxers "Sugar" Shane Mosley, Antonio Tarver, Lamar Brewster, ex-NFLers James Hasty and Natrone Means, MTV's Ed Lover, and rapper Yuk Mouth in a full chinchilla. J. Prince, CEO of Rap-a-Lot Records, and his large entourage were turned away for not meeting the dress code. As he left, he threatened to return and "buy OPM and fire you all!".
  7. I feel like that dude in the movie Flatliners who is haunted by that wacko school kid.
  8. Kudos, Mike. You are so right. Eight years is a really long time and here you are discussing the upcoming continued success. I hope everything works out and please keep us informed of all the new exciting changes as they come to fruition. Clubplanet, Napkinnights, ClubVibes, AE Vegas, LVFBM, The Circuit and other similar online areas are more powerful than most realize. I hope your new involvement here can help leverage your reach. -DJMW
  9. Is that another threat, this time in front of the public? I have no choice now but to forward your voice mail to the authorities. You realize this is a serious criminal situation and its not like you will be hard to track down. You should seriously consider acting like an adult, not some school yard bully. Your comments over the past few months have alienated a lot of locals and industry who would have otherwise supported Tabu. If anyone searches for posts in your name, they will globally find negative reactions to each of your posts. Bash campaigning should be left to the politicians instead of people working for large public companies like MGM/Mirage.
  10. Just archiving the original post in case Mr. Freeze edits out his original post as he did his unprofessional replies which included an admission of the type of threatening messages he left on my cell. If this abuse continues, I will upload the actionable message and link to it from here.
  11. Hi Mike: Thanks for coming by and responding to my post. It was professional unlike Tabu's Sunday night promoter, Mr. Freeze's version. I'm not looking for anything (but thanks much for the offer). I will pass along your thoughts to the rest of the people in the group and I'm sure they will appreciate it as well. I would also love to support and spread the good word on these new developments at Studio. Hopefully our next visit will end as well as it starts DJMW
  12. A few items to add to the Xmas wish list for ya: 1. Hooked on Phonics 2. Year supply of Prozac 3. VHS video of "Breakin'" released 1982
  13. Your inflamatory post included not even one accurate fact but whatever, I guess I'm the better man for not forwarding your DEATH THREAT to the authorities, even though I felt the need to archive it. Besides who's ignorant enough to leave a death threat on voice mail? And who feels the need to threaten someone in the first place based on a message board discussion. Grow up. As far as your battle, I guess I'm too scared. I'm not a battle DJ. I play for the ladies, without showing off and scratching/chopping which should have no place in a club anyway. Furthermore, why give your slow night any credibility by even remotely associating it with a spot that does big business?
  14. OPM was 10:1 the OTHER way around and CRACKALACKIN - should have went there Also, I too am from North Jersey (Maplewood) and T-Day EVE is HUGE, but that is a locals bar tradition all around the country, not just East Coast. A lot of people return home to visit family and the day before the holiday is the perfect time to meet old friends at the local spot. HOWEVER unlike NJ and other local hangouts, VEGAS ROCKS Thanksgiving weekend! The clubs that open Thanksgiving night are usually jam packed. Then the whole weekend is off the hook. In most other areas, this is one of the slowest weekends of the year. Vegas flips the script so enjoy yourself. I can guarantee Tao and OPM will be CRAZY tonight (especially after midnight) and then Friday/Saturday will bring out all the freaks to the hot spots!
  15. No, that scene pretty much does not exist out here in the 21+ mainstream club zone but once in a while you will se a promoter come to this board or Napkinnights and announce a DnB event.
  16. A few things. First, Bikinis is closing after THIS week and I believe they are converting it to a bowling alley. Second, Club Rio actually does usually bring a big crowd Thursday and Saturday. Their Latin night on Thursdays has been a success for years and their Saturdays are generally bumping during peak hours - however the crowd isn't exactly a sexy one. But their weekday success is based on doing something different by catering to the Latino crowd. The key to club success in Vegas is to develop a niche and/or be new. Bikinis never had a niche and now they're gone. Studio 54 does have a niche by associating with a succesful club of the past and including aerial performances and shows, etc. - and if you notice, their crowd is getting quite old (by club standards) and that has kept it alive. I think they still have quite a few years in them and they enjoy a highly trafficked property. I just hope they stop hustling bottle customers.
  17. I think your best bet would be the MGM Mansion suites. Do any of you gamble because the casino rate could drop it from several thousand to half or less.
  18. You still think Serato beat matches for djs? LOL!
  19. LOL, unlike DJ P, Kid Capri doesn't use "digital EFX" machines and other cheat devices LMAO!!
  20. Heck, you can get into SRO (aka 702), Bikinis and the Beach for a bargain too. But if you're coming to Vegas to party on NYE, wouldn't you prefer to go to a top spot?
  21. Yeah it was one of the best parties OPM has ever thrown. Lil Jon coming tomorrow Wednesday November 16. We are not playing anymore!! -DJMW
  22. Ed, I believe you've been punked.
  23. House in one room. Hip-Hop in another. Old School in another. Enjoy Foundation room now until Jet goes after Mondays.
  24. Simple math: Supply vs. Demand. Let's see... 200,000 or more extra people in town ALL looking to party like rock stars New Years Eve. 10 hot clubs with capacities under 2000 in most cases. That leaves 180,000+ people bidding for entry. I know OPM will be selling $150 tickets for the same product that we're giving tonight at $20. It's all about the economics my friends.
