  1. Wow I would have to say your experiences were the exception - not the norm. I know OPM had a 3 hour + wait Memorial Saturday and Sunday. I heard Rain, Pure, B.E., Tangerine and others had similar situations. Expect Labor Day Weekend to be chaotic too. But the best one will be this year's New Years Eve which falls on a SATURDAY of all days -- should be SICK.
  2. Magic is around the corner - and also Labor Day Weekend. Here are the hottest hip-hop parties in Vegas, featuring TODAY's blazin' music... Monday: Foundation Room in the Hip Hop Room Tuesday: Pure Main Room Wednesday: Flow @ Vivid, Tangerine Thursday: Thirst @ OPM Friday: Vivid, Curve, OPM, Pure, Body English Saturday: Pure, Body English, OPM Sunday: Body English, OPM, Seven, Risque Main Room Note Body English, Pure and Tangerine mix Rock and Top 40 with Hip-Hop. OPM is the only club that is true to Hip-Hop every night Thursday through Sunday. Sunday @ OPM now features DJ Franzen and Craig G who brought the wildly succesful Juice parties last year to House of Blues.
  3. That's right, legendary MC Craig G and Hot 97's highly talented DJ Franzen, who both brought the insanely succesful JUICE parties last year, have teamed up once again to bring the hottest Sunday night party back to Vegas. Many feel this is one of the best teams, celebrating TODAY'S HOTTEST HIP-HOP!! Join Craig G and Franny at OPM NightClub in the Forum Shops @ Caesars. Premieres SUNDAY AUGUST 28 and every Sunday thereafter. Free entry, skip the huge lines and free bubbly for the ladies until 1am... Call 702-369-4998 to get on the list! Fellas, please note: STRICT DRESS CODE ENFORCED @ OPM!
  4. Little birdie told me its over just like that... Anyone care to confirm?
  5. OPM Nightclub in the Forum Shops @ Caesars is the only club that brings straight hip-hop and reggae without the fluff Thursday through Sunday, always packed to the walls. Sign up to the list at www.o-pm.com/index2.html so you can find out how to skip the line and beat the cover.
  6. Your best bets are Curve, Risque, Bikinis and Beach to accept passes that weekend, and even those clubs will likely decline. Basically, you should instead spend a few bucks and go to the top spots, and just get there extremely early like before 10pm. Unfortunately even showing up at 10pm might not get you into Pure, Body English, Tangerine, OPM without a long wait.
  7. Now Curve is building a Friday night as well. FYI OPM Thursdays are blowing up. Tonight (Aug 11) was almost as big as Saturdays!
  8. So you never answered my questions. What is your relationship with the people who are promoting the Sunday Slide at Tabu? And what is your relationship with the DJs who are spinning that night? You wouldn't be ashamed to discuss these details, would you?
  9. Mr. Freeze, could you please describe your relationship with the people who are promoting and participating at the Tabu night you mentioned? Thank you for standing behind your words.
  10. Mr. Freeze. I was wondering. Does your defamatory post represent the views of Tabu Ultra Lounge, MGM Grand or the people involved in the night at Tabu. Please advise. Inquiring minds want to know.
  11. Oh, and Mr. Freeze. I thought you might find this helpful. I ran CNN.com through a transizlatin' engine for you "down" folk... http://sites.gizoogle.com/?url=http://www.cnn.com I even transizlatified the Rock Steady Crew Bio for y'all down playas. The Rock Steady Crizzay was established in 1977 by Bronx b-boys Jimmy D n Jizzle like old skool shit. Wizzle they started this crew in tha streets of tha Bronx, they had no idea that someday it would takes thiznem all around tha world sho nuff. Only tha bizzle b-boys were D-to-tha-izzown wit Rizzy Steady. They had rivals in all five boroughs of New York n fo` every rival there wizzy ten kids who wanted ta be dizzy wit them so sit back relax new jacks get smacked. Brotha gett'n into tha original crew was not easy yaba daba dizzle. To git into Rock Steady you had ta battle one of tha playa b-boys in tha crew cuz its a doggy dog world. It was a competizzles few thugz won.
  12. Freeze, I must admit, I read your ebonics post 12 times and I still can't figure out what you were trying to say but hey, I guess it was supposed to be an insult or something, I think? Anyway I need to get back to servicing the gang scene again - check out these gang bangers from the last couple Fridays at OPM... http://vegas.napkinnights.com/pics/index.php?f=l_219
  13. Hey Dakota, just want to give you some SERIOUS props. You are a great addition to the Nirvana team and I think you do a VERY awesome job. You should definitely meet my good friend Chris DeJesus who spins a very similar vibe as yours (he used to do house at OPM before they went hip-hop, and he has worked at Rehab and does a lot of work in El Paso and ABQ). Anyway, just wanted to let you know a lot of people enjoy what you bring and keep up the great vibe.
  14. Yeah you're right - it's downright ignorant. And by the way Freeze, I assume you know Craig G, right? Every time you sling shit, you are dissing on his fam.
  15. Is it the previous Utopia?
  16. Luckily in Vegas and in just about every other city, battling and scratching have no place in a commercial dance club. All it does is piss off the ladies and ruin the energy on the dance floor. That's probably why, in a previous thread, a club was criticized as "not being true hip-hop" by Mr. Freeze because it had a 2 to 1 female ratio. I guess people go to clubs for different reasons. I'd prefer to cater to the ladies and keep the fellas happy by bringing the ladies. But then again some people want to see turntablism. Not my type of swordfest, sorry. If that means commercial hip-hop djs are not "down" then so be it.
  17. I felt I owed you the first reply LOL!! I'm happy you enjoyed Vegas in your decent kicks Thanks for keeping it real and enjoy the Big Apple until you come back.
  18. I would recommend the end of the month - it's very slow right after Labor Day.
  19. Very good points. As the time-proven rule goes, what you RECEIVE in life is always in direct proportion to what you GIVE in life. This is an inevitable principal that applies to everyone. If you don't believe in that, research people who give a lot of charity or volunteer work and see how their lives compare to those who do not.
  20. Light, Rain, OPM, Tabu, Rio (for Latin)
  21. First off, VegasLocal thank you for the kudos but I think the credit is spread among several very talented people keeping the scene hot here in Sin City. My situation definitely has been challenging, getting involved with a club that had, let's say, not the greatest of reputations -- and still suffers from some stigma -- but the people who need to know what's real already know it now thanks to a lot of hard work among our staff and a lot of support from the mainstream hip-hop community and people like yourself - again thank you. And MarionCobretti, words like Kike are unacceptable here but I'm sure you already know that and don't care. However it's ignorant to allow this topic to hit that low of a point. I think you should replace that word with "moron" because at least that singles him out for the way he is behaving here, without including the entire Jewish race.
  22. LOL maybe Tangerine should implement some of the strategies as those used back in the 70s gas shortage. Split their locals night into two nights and only allow people with even numbers on their license on Wednesday and odds on Thursday or something LOL. OK that may not work but hell, they need to do something about breathing room. LaLate did make a good point about it on NN when he said it does create better conversations with the ladies, and there are plenty of lovely ones to choose from on Wednesdays.
  23. I think its about that time that LeBete finds its rhythm. And I'm sure your GM knows the value of keeping the locals happy first. Hope this opens up a bunch of opportunites for you and your team.
  24. I believe there is a guestlist at http://vegas.napkinnights.com
